Our little thread of BIG Resort changes*OLD THREAD link on last pg. to new thread!

Looks like your DH and I learned the same lesson. Tell him not to dial 800 instead of 407 when calling the WDTC:rolleyes1

That had to have been even more of a shock than him trying to call a customer. It really scare him, when the male officer started talking. Luckily, they both believed that he had dialed the wrong number, otherwise, they said they could have arrested him. Which would have been really bad, considering the work phones are in my mil's name.

Just one more question about it....
Since we will be driving, we will have a cooler. What do you think the best way to handle getting it to the AKL is. Should we do it ourselves, and just hope our room is ready so we can put it in the room before heading to the MK, or will bell services take that as well (there wouldn't be any ice in it, but there would be drinks)? In case it makes a difference, it's the kind that can roll and has a handle like luggage.

I would have bell services move it .... usually I just point out what items need to be refrigerated and they handle it. I've had them move milk, butter, yogurt, water and sodas .... everything has been fine! :thumbsup2

Hi!!!! Just checking in - I have to go back and read all the pages I missed! Looks like a lot!

Work is just...well, it's nothing I can say on a family board, let's say that. i will try to catch up soon! And report on all my resort changing!

Luckily, we won't need anything to be refrigerated since the drinks are only for the ride there and home. Once we get to WDW, the cooler is just used to basically store the drinks.

JM asks me everyday how many more days until our Disney trip. I am glad someone in this house is showing excitement for this trip. Even if the only reason he is looking forward to it is all the candy he thinks he will get from MNSSHP.

Wookie -- did you say Giordano's?? Like THE Giordano's that's in Chi-town?? I'm going to have to see if there's one that delivers to the Hilton at Sea World!!

35 days til we leave!!!!

Just stopped at the Five Below which I actually really like and got 2 noodles, some goggles for DS, a hair thing so I can try putting my hair up in a bun some days instead of always a ponytail when we're there, AND a penguin travel pillow for DS! (He has a dog one, but this one is a penguin so I couldn't pass it up. Figure I can use his other one in the car). :-)

I just order 2 inflatable noodles from Amazon, for floating around SAB :goodvibes

I am soooo MIA these days, sorry :grouphug:

Just trying to get stuff done and everyone to all their respective appointments before we leave next week. Thursday and Friday are appointment free, so hopefully I will catch with everyone then. For now :flower3:

Miss you all,
Melissa

Wookie. Clancy sounds like a sweetheart!
I am sure going to have to try that pizza place, on my first night. I'll still have my rental from Ft Lauderdale. Going grocery shopping at the Publix for breakfast stuff on Vineland. So maybe Giordanis is near by? Publix is in the strip mall across from Premium Outlets.

Miss have you tried the Aveeno oatmeal stuff for daughters skin rash? I used the bath stuff and soaked my kids when they were little and had chicken pox. It seemed to help. Poor thing  sounds awful.

Melissa good morning!

Hello! Off to work in about 5 minutes...ugh. Disney in 12 days!!!

I'd be interested in the luggage transfer as well...I want to get to AKL quickly from BC..first thing in the morning if possible...gotta get the most outta AKL CL!! Hopefully it will happen Magically!
I really loved POP, and that sounds like a great plan. I wouldn't want to waste that $$ either. I'm doing the pizza too...once we check into the pool view on the 11th...It sounds delish..so info about that will be much appreciated too!

Have a great afternoon everyone...hoping my Bruins pull out a win tonight..even if I am at work for most of the game.::yes::

When we do split stays I like to do early check in too, for one thing it's less lines, if any. I use a cab to take us & luggage to new resort. They have taxi vans to accommodate luggage if you think you have more then what will fit in a sedan, same price, just request that if you need it.
I like having my luggage there for when room is ready.

I did a quick Google search on it, I needed something to take my mind of this program that has a mind of it's own and won't do what my code is telling it to. Anyway, it's not right by it, but then it's not that far either. Here's a picture of it....

It is really quiet on here today.

Well I've been doing some checking and it looks like AoA would only be $5 more than PC, but it's a LM room (which probably won't go over well with JM). The All Stars are about $11 cheaper than the PC. Wondering if we should do an All Star instead. The savings would practically pay for one day of valet parking at the AKL.

Hello ladies. :grouphug: Busy and quiet, you lot. :goodvibes

I should pick some up! I remember bathing in the exact same thing when I got chicken pox. So far I've been using Cetaphil in the bath, Caladryl after and giving her a dose of Benadryl at night. She's red and blotchy all over still. It's starting to get better but very slowly. :upsidedow

I'm too p**ped to pop. (Not sure if they mod that word or not.) I need an intervention -- if someone doesn't get these, as I like to call them, "Mega Uber Snowcaps" away from me I'm going to eat the entire container. (They're from TJ's; 73% dark Belgian chocolate. Oh. So. Flippin'. Good. :lovestruc )

Only thing remotely not-boring to share besides my love of TJ's chocolate, we decided to grill last night and consulted with the radar first because it was due to storm. The thunderstorms were two huuuuuuge midwest-sized counties away so what the hey, right? Before I started the grill, I was hearing warning sirens way off in the distance -- but the sky was bright? :confused3 (Discovered afterward that Fermilab runs their sirens during Tstorm warnings, not just when a tornado has been sighted.) Storms two counties away, we're good. Got the coals nice and hot, threw the food on: mushrooms, burgers, hotdogs, mini Yukon potatoes. Flipped the burgers once. Just then, I heard thunder; I turned around to see a sky which went from sunny-happy-land to doing its finest "Coming Apocalypse" impression. I can only imagine how frantically DUMB both my husband and I looked as we rushed to get the food off the grill into the dish as golf-ball sized rain drops started pelting us from above. The wind was unbelievable. I've learned two things in our grilling adventures: 1) Do not grill unless the leading edge of the storm is only just at the state-border between IL and Iowa. 2) If you attempt to grill during a stormy cataclysm, watching someone remove mushrooms from the grill with a spatula instead of tongs is very funny, indeed. :rotfl2:

Lol. I can only imagine what this looked like. :-) looks like rain again here and DS has swim lessons tonight. Hoping it holds off for him!

Only 1 more day of summer school!! (At least first session. Did I tell you I get a week and a half break?) that means 4.5 weeks til Disney!!! Woohoo!!

How many nights would you be there?

We'll only be at the value one night before checking into the AKL. It will be a late check-in, and could even be after midnight. Then we'll hopefully check out of the value no later than 10 AM the next morning, so we can check into the AKL.

I told my DH this is how it would work, but he wants confirmation from someone who has actually done something like this before. The value reservation will be a room only reservation and will be a separate one from the AKL one. Since our park tickets will be tied to the AKL reservation, we will need to physically check into the AKL before heading to a park, correct?

I had heard you could pick up tickets 3 days earlier from Guest Services at a park? Not sure on the particulars...

Have you stayed at Pop or All Stars before? I'd do whichever you haven't tried yet. Otherwise I don't think t matters much, especially if all you're talking s $10 between them...just my opinion though. :-)

Well, I've offficially lost my mind...just changed BACk to Beach Club! The Grand /monorail resorts were calling my name, but so was club level. GF club was a bit more than I wanted to bite off, Poly and Contemporary sold out. I know we will love Beach Club though. I've been following that thread for months and I've learned so much from those great folks :)
Leaving in TWO days!!! Checking into POR for the night on Thursday and into BC on Friday! Can't wait!

Trying to catch up on here...but :rotfl2: and yay for you!!

Ok, so I'm done tweaking ADRs I think. I'm not switching resorts. I bought all the pirate stuff for the reveal. Ordered the PhotoPass+. Booked pirate cruise for DS and Wishes Dessert Party. And Sea World's booked, along with all travel arrangements down and back...

Umm...what do I do now?? :-) I need to update my binder info and print that out and make a couple "cheat sheets" for DH and I to take with us to the parks. And make the kids' autograph books...but other than that...pretty much done...I hate waiting!! But I also don't want to wish away the summer! (Considering it's already almost July!)

:lmao: I bet it was a funny site to be sure. It reminds me of the one time we took the DSs camping and woke up the next morning to a practical monsoon. For some reason, the inlaws insisted that we still cook breakfast on the two grills in the campsite. We were cooking scrambled eggs, bacon and toast on two grills. Each grill had two people, one person cooking and another one holding an umbrella over the cooking food. I could just imagine people around us laughing at us from their tents.

The only value we have stayed at was the PC in June 2012.

I don't want to wish the Summer away either, but I am really looking forward to our September trip.

Excellent! So I'd have to back down Vineland and cross over 4, then go back up.:thumbsup2 thanks!

Exactly. Get going early morning to check in at AKL & pick up your kttw cards, etc. I've done it several times. I like early check in anyways. Less or no lines.
This trip we are staying first night at Pop, but toying with AoA little mermaid room. But like you for 1 night don't know if it's worth it :confused3. Still may chchchange :goodvibes
