The What's for Dinner Thread- June 2012 (recipe index in OP)

That sounds good. We had such a late lunch (4PM) that I think we will end up skipping dinner again tonight.

No skipping!

Interesting,
I served a lemon cake last weekend, never thought of a lime cake. That sounds yummy!
Your cakes always look scrumptious!

....what was for dinner last night? MY DS and his GF cooked last night. They made chicken marsala with a side of garlic spinach....

Lucky! I cooked but if someone had cooked for me I would be :yay:

Kim when ever uou type GF I akways have to think twice, "Did she mean Girl Friend ir Gluten Free?" :scratchin:

:lmao::lmao:

Last night we had a ham steak, green beans and Becky's roasted curried sweet potatoes. Buddy would have liked a salad, but I was just too tired.

Tonght Marisa and Kady are coming over. I made a ground chicken and broccoli casserole that I saw on Allrecipes. I took the basics, but Nanatized it. Some of those recipes are way too involved for a casserole. :confused3 Maybe those folks have someone who washes their pots and pans :rolleyes1

And Buddy's salad ;) I have an angel/apple cake in the oven. IF it is good, I'll share the way too easy recipe.

We did end up eating some leftover Thai food as a snack, but the amount of lunch I ate was HUGE and really filling.

Kimmar - I think you need to go start another thread. "What cake best describes your personality?"

Mine would be Lemon Tart! :lmao:

Last night we had prime rib, baked potato, and creamed spinach. Comfort food. YUMMY!

Sounds so yummy....

last night for dinner I had, a big ole salad with Mizzuna, spinach, Romain, butter lettuce, bell pepper, cucumber, cauliflower, cilantro, tomato, and onion, with a grilled piece of chicken...

Tonight we're going to Zen Buffet. It's a good cheap Asian buffet with sushi, stir fry, crab legs and all kinds of goodies. And we have a BOGO! :thumbsup2

Sounds awesome... Enjoy.

Tonight for me is grilled salmon with dill, greens and roasted sweet potatoes.

PIO - Sorry to her hubby is sick, that is so not fun!

Last night we had Grilled Salmon, and Kale Chips, along with some cubed roasted sweet potatoes.

I am down 35 pounds and David is down 53 pounds.... So as a pair we have lost 88 pounds.....

Angel apple cake? I am listening...

It was wicked easy! One Angel food cake mix, 1 can apple pie filling

The cake mix needs to be a one step that only water is added.

13 x 9 inch pan...not greased 350 degree oven

Mix the cake mix and teh pie filling together so that teh apple pieces are broken up. Toss in pan and bake for about 45 minutes. Make sure it is completely baked, or it will fall.

I have a lip on my pan so I could cool it upside own and avoided a collapse. It was good! This cake does not keep more than a day, I don't think, but it was light and delicious. A little sweet, but very good!

...Devils' Food cake is more YOUR style......:rolleyes1

:lmao::lmao:

PIO- I hope that your world settles down fast! And that you do not catch whatever your DH is suffering from, you are way to busy!

Welby made dinner on Wednesday night because she said I "saved her life" on Tuesday. She was sick so I stayed there to make sure she was okay, and cared for my Princesses. Nice return! We enjoyed a pork roast, a roast beef, rice, and two veggies. And Martinis!

Last night was our anniversary so DH and I braved teh rain rain rain to celebrate! Veal Milanese for me and rib eye for him. We split a massive slice of carrot cake for dessert.

Tonight I have chicken and pork chops to cook. No coking on Wednesday and Thursday, so I need to use that meat up.

He's coughing and spluttering with a drippy nose. Even stayed in bed for most of the day. He's not the kind to take to bed unless he's really feeling horrible; so I completely feel for him. Poor DH. :(

10 business days to launch!
