August 25, 2013 Dream - Who's here

Usually we stay at Salvatore's Garden Place. It is unique. We love it. THis time we are flying down the night before, and staying at SpringHill suites in Orlando, then returning to the Airport in the AM an taking the Magic Shuttle.

We too will be in Buffalo on the Friday (once I book a hotel). That's interesting about that Salvatore's Place, we've always wondered about it. May have to try it at some point. We also need to find a place the night before the cruise. I'm thinking Downtown Disney area or we will go out to Cocoa Beach. I still have lots of planning to do. Down flight is job one though, wish the airlines would drop there prices a bit soon. Everything is around $200 one way, not good.

Anyone have a final FE participant count? Last I saw it was 99, wondered if all of those are confirmed?

Hey All,

Looks like DS and I'll be joining you all. We booked on board the EBTA. Wow, what a cruise. I highly recommend it. It was hard to get a spot. First time I checked, I could only get a GTY 5e as the cheapest room available but got a 8c gty in the end.

Interestingly, found out on board (but y'all probably knew) that the long time cruise director of the Magic (Darren) is transferring to the Dream. The EBTA was his last Magic cruise.

Anyways, I was excited about rebooking so soon and figured I had to check for this meets thread. I don't have anything figured out yet for this cruise as we"re just off the Magic and still enjoying Barcelona.

Is most of the cruise meets activity on Facebook or here? I'm not much of a face booker.

We decided to stay at the Spring Hill Suites in Orlando because they have a free shuttle to and from the airport, so we will just hang out for a day and then pick up the magic shuttle to the port.

Wow the shirts turned out great!! I love them! We will definitely be able to spot your family!

For the DCL newbies, I guess we can do our online checkin tomorrow!!! :cool1: Will the link be available at midnight?

Anyone else tired today because you stayed up till midnight to check in? LOL

I really wanted Palo brunch but it was sold out. Instead I'm doing the Remy champagne brunch. Anyone else?

I decided to book an excursion in Nassau instead of remaining onboard. Being our first trip to the Bahamas I wanted a full on experience.

I'm so glad this day has come! Its getting closer! Now all I am waiting on is my cabin assignment. (Fingers crossed its a good one and its assigned soon)

I've had such great luck with everything so far so I'm feeling good about it!

I've got bags under my eyes today too. Happy to get an early PAT and booked the Sting Ray adventure on CC for DH, DD and DS. Hope I can at least take my 4 year old just so we can watch.

Thinking of staying on the ship at Nassau. Maybe just get off at port and browse town for a bit after lunch. Just to say "I was there":)

Sending Pixie Dust for a great cabin for you!

Got an 11-11:30 PAT!!! :cool1:
I don't think we'll book any excursions as of yet. We are planning to stay on the ship in Nassau. We shall see!

Thank you cheribelle.

I lucked out with an early PAT time too. I'm glad because we are flying in the day before.

PS. How did we all get such early PAT times? Maybe I shouldnt ask....we did! That's all thats important. :dance3:

OMG I was laughing so hard after reading this posts about last night. I stay up too until late to book everything online, them i was so excited that i couldn't sleep until very very late :rotfl2:

I booked the Dolphin encounter for Nassau and a dinner at the last night of the cruise at Palo for a date with hubby

Plans to surprise the boys with the cruise still going on (they have absolute no clue). So far, they are receiving the characters phone call the morning of, but first i got Duffy sailor outfits and will write a letter of invitation "from captain Mickey", inviting them to go on the cruise, those will be delivered to them during breakfast at Olivia's in OKW by a helpful employee!

Any other idea for the surprise will be appreciated!

Hope most of us are good with reservations and we are looking forward to make great new friends on the cruise.

Now back to get those FE gifts ready!

Hello all! We will be joining you on this cruise. Booked it way back in October and this will be our third cruise but first time as single parent. Last cruise was the WB Repo Cruise aboard the magic back in 2008 and can't wait to see what the Dream is all about. I am 42 and will be traveling with DS (10) and DD (8). Kids are looking forward to the clubs and activities - so I feel I will have a lot of free time on my hands! I was able to do early check-in and have Atlantis booked for the day and even a spa time for me on day at sea. No Palo for me this trip but looking forward to the fun none-the-less! Looking forward to meeting everyone!

HI OClover

Like you, I'm a single parent traveling with kids your age as well. 2 boys 10 and 8. I'm not sure what to expect as far as my boys and how they will take to the clubs. Knowing them, they will love them.

I had Remy brunch booked but cancelled because I just didn't want to do it solo.

If you find yourself bored, I'd be happy to meet for coffee in Cove Cafe.

I still hope we do a cruise meet with everyone.

P.S. Are you in the Facebook group for the cruise?
