Ok, let's have some updates now, beginning with jenifferf00's two-part snack update from Animal Kingdom.


Her first snack was from...









Jen said, "Taking a break at the Boneyard after some very busy days! Sorry no pics yesterday, we were hitting a wall, but after some sleep everyone's doing better. So far today we've had a frozen lemonade, which hit the spot since it's so hot!"




Then this afternoon she had this snack...





"I tried a jalapeno cheese filled pretzel and loved it!"

"We chose a Bacon Burger, a Mac & Cheese Hot Dog, and 2 kids burgers. The Mac & Cheese Hot Dog disappeared while I was getting mushrooms for my burger. DH said it was good."

"My burger was fine. A fast food burger, but it had mushrooms so it had a little bonus."

"The girls' lunches were meh, but they loved the buckets."






"And we all enjoyed the chocolate mousse."

Oh gosh... so sorry I forgot to send the text part of that update. Issy had another pulled pork sandwich. She really liked the one she got the first day but kept refusing to get a side with it despite our assurances that we could all "take care" of the potato chips. I don't know what's wrong with that girl. Sorry for any gaps of info or pictures with half eaten food. Getting pictures taken before the three kids could demolish their plates and sending off coherent reports was a little harder than I expected it to be but fun!!

Next in this afternoon was a lunch update from 1coolnini. She and her DH were at Epcot today and had lunch at...












They started with a pitcher of Red Sangria...







Then the Family Salad for 2...




"Family Style" House Salad with leaf lettuces, roasted red peppers, marinated mushrooms, olives, peperonicini, red wine vinaigrette






Prosciutto e Melone Pizza with fontina, mozzarella, prosciutto, cantelope (arugula on the side)


"1coolpapa wasn't sure about this pizza. I reassured him that everyone on this thread loves this pizza. He agreed to order it if we left off the arugula. They brought it to us on the side. 1coolpapa said he would order it again WITH the arugula. The pizza was great."




"We finished almost everything!...







No dessert at Via Napoli, but they did have some frozen treats from the...







"It was warm today. So far no rain. We needed a cold snack."



"Swirl soft serve ice cream and a strawberry smoothie."

Ok, now it gets more difficult...




Spaghetti with chicken and marinara sauce (my guess)

Looks like grilled chicken over spaghetti with a red sauce??? (What do you all think?)

ETA: Just noticed on the menu that you can get chicken instead of meatballs with the Spaghetti entree, so that's what I'm going with on this one.



And how about this one...




Perhaps Chicken Campanelle? (but I don't see any broccoflower, so maybe not?)

Next in was the first update from a new reporter who arrived at Disney World today, Kaitlin (KGNOLA).


She and her family had their first Disney meal at DHS'...















For their appetizers, DD Drucilla had the Kids Tomato Soup...





"It was very rich, but very good!"




DH Quentin chose BBQ Chipotle Wings...




Chicken Wings with Honey-Chipotle Barbecue Sauce, Blue Cheese Dressing, and Celery Sticks

"Our favorite dish of the meal!"




And Kaitlin had the Buffalo Popcorn Chicken...





"I thought it was very spicy."








"Drucilla had an Oreo milkshake. It did have a cherry on top, but mama wasn't fast enough with the camera!"





For their entrees, Drucilla chose the Kids Popcorn Chicken with goldfish...







Kaitlin chose the Salmon BLT with Cucumber Salad...




Salmon BLT - served on crusty French Roll with Arugula, Vine-ripened Tomatoes, Bacon, and Chili-Chive Aioli


"This was awesome, but I thought there was too much bread and ate it open faced."





And Quentin chose his favorite, Build-your-own-Burger...








Now for desserts, Drucilla had the Kids Sundae...

She said, "They open at 5:00 and we got there at 5:20. Very busy. No lounge seating and some items needed to be replenished. We really didn't get much because we are saving ourselves for tonight's dinner at Yachtsman. BTW, we are having a thunder/lightning storm right now."

For entrees, Jen had the Chicken Lo Mein...




Chicken Lo Mein - Lo Mein noodles, carrots, cabbage, green onoins, bean sprouts



Her DH had the Steak and Shrimp...




Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp - skirt steak, tempura-battered shrimp, jasmine rice, stir-fried vegetables, chili plum dipping sauce



Makenzie had the Kids Chicken Nuggets (no pic) and Chocolate Cake for dessert...





And also for dessert, they had the...




Fried Wontons - Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons, vanilla ice cream, honey vanilla drizzle

It's a small lounge and there was rarely a seat when we were there last June. We just took our food to our room.

Chris said, "This morning, I had planned to go to the breakfast buffet at Captain's Grille, one of my favorites, but I was tired, so I slept in and had a snack for breakfast from Les Halles."








"I had the ham and cheese croissant, which was very tasty. It was warmed, although the center was still cool."







"Then I had lunch at...


Le Cellier





Heirloom Tomato Salad with Mozzarella, Watermelon, and Minus "8" Vinegar



"I started with the Heirloom Tomato Salad, which was very good. There was a nice balance of flavors and the tomatoes were nice and fresh."







Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - 8 oz. Canadian AAA Beef Tenderloin with wild mushroom risotto, white truffle butter sauce and micro chervil


"For my main course, I had the filet, which was well-cooked and as good as I remembered it."









"For dessert, I had the Coconut Three Ways, which was really outstanding. I loved the creativity of the various textures and temperatures. I loved this dessert."





"After lunch, I went on the Behind the Seeds Tour of The Land pavillion, so I could see where some of the fish and veggies are grown for WDW restaurants and catering. I don't do any gardening, but I love Epcot, and I still really enjoyed this fun tour."








"After my tour, I went to La Cava del Tequila for a margarita."








"I tried the jalapeno margarita. It was refreshing and I liked the fresh cucumber. However, it wasn't quite as good as the Blood Orange margarita."








"I went for a last WDW dinner at Monsieur Paul."








"I started with the Maine Lobster with sauteed mushrooms, mollet quail egg, and creamy black truffle bouillon. I loved this dish. It was so fragrant."









"For my main course, I had another fillet: the grilled beef tenderloin with mushroom crust (with some cheese that was SO good!), mashed potatoes, and bordelaise sauce. The potatoes were very creamy and had some cocoa powder on top."








"I finished with La Baba au Rhum and a cappuccino. This cake was a nice way to finish the meal. It was rich, but it was nice for a late evening. Overall, I really really liked my dinner at Monsieur Paul. The service was wonderful and the food was great."
