October 2013 Code Watch?!

i just had the worst experience...
i called for my lunch break to see if there was a pin attached to my name, the gentleman was very nice. he asked what type of discount i was looking for i said if free dining would be available i would love that. he then stated he could give me free dining but i would have to arrive a day earlier(Oct 2). I couldnt do that but my boss said it was okay to move the dates back. He then offered me Oct 18. I said i would take it. He went to apply the free dining but then said that the room i had reserved didnt qualify and asked if i would like for him to try the Coronado Springs and i said sure. He then placed me on hold.... Guess what phone disconnects. When i call back i am told that because there was no pin under my name... they couldnt help me. She was more then ready to cancel my reservation when i threatened to do so...... so then i asked to speak to someone to complain. They connected me to someone in Guest Services. He took my information down and stated that he wanted to look into what happened and see what he could do to help me out.... He then asked if i would like to stay in the room i already have booked, i said it didnt matter i was just interested in the free dining i was offered.... He asked for a number to call me back. He then stated he would get back with me by that time tommorrow..... What do you think will come of this? Do you think they will honor the offer?

That really stinks. I hope you end up getting it, but I assume you didn't have a pin or the second person would have just completed the process. Hopefully, they will honor it for you, being he told you you had it.

I did give my number to the CM and waited a few mins before calling back when i got no return call from him. The 2nd CM that basically said she couldnt help me without my having a pin was not as friendly. I also gave his name to the Guest Services Specialist and wrote down his name as well.... I have not yet heard back from them but expect that will not be until later this afternoon.... I will keep you all posted....

OK so the Guest Service Specialist called me back and said that after reviewing everything he was going to honor the offer and was going to add the free dining to my reservation, saving me a total of 2033.00.... WHEW!!! That felt amazing!!! Oct 18-28 here we come....

That is great!!!! Congratulations. Wonder if they reprimanded the CM who made the mistake.

Woohoo!! Congrats! I'm so glad it worked out for you. Getting FD is a great feeling isn't it?! Mine was my Mother's Day gift!! Lol

I got some kind of a code in my junk mail and it applies to the second half of my stay. How does that work? We have a package with a meal plan and tickets, staying at Pop. I browsed around but didn't see what I was looking for, so apologizing now if this is a repeat question.:)

Most of these codes apply to arrival dates. If you wish to use this code then you must switch your arrival dates to match those that are on the PIN.

If your dates are not flexible the other thing that you can do is what is called a split stay. Start your stay the date that you have it booked and then "checkout" and "check in" for the second half of your stay that has the code.;) You are not guaranteed to have the same room but most times it is possible.
 
Thanks. I'll look into it. Could be worth it if the savings is decent...if not, I think I'd let it go and choose more flexible dates next time. I'd love to change weeks, but with the plane tickets and having to work...just not gonna happen. Thank you!

Is the pin for free dining? If so when did you receive it?
 
No it was a percent off a room at a value resort. I think 30 percent.

Thanks! Even that would make me happy. For room only discounts they will just discount the days in your trip that are included and charge full price for those that aren't. I don't think there is a need for a split stay.
 
I may have gotten the same thing...mine doesn't actually list a percent off, but there is a code and it gives an example of $712 per adult for 6 nights/7 days at select Value resorts for dates 10/1-10/10 and 10/14-10/31. I've emailed my travel agent to see if this can save us anything on our trip 10/6-10/15.
