32 days until we are at the BC and........I GOT MICKEY MAIL, I GOT MICKEY MAIL, I GOT MICKEY MAIL!!!!!!!:yay::yay::yay:

I'm the only one excited about this here in my house, so I had to share with you guys. I know my friends here understand how I feel. :grouphug:

Have to love Mickey Mail!!

Question about the lazy river...can children wear swim arms or use noodles or rings? I guess adults for that matter, too. Can adults use rings or floats?

Yes. You just about have to use floats or noodles. Lazy river is quite deep in some sections.

Does this happen a lot? We are staying in a Garden View (BC) the week after Thanksgiving and was hoping and praying for a discount of some sort.

The discount does have to be available in the category you would like to book. Discounts are getting more restrictive lately. I remember when free dining was available for a couple months and now it looks like it is closer to three weeks.
In the past they have let you add a discount if you have already booked a category that becomes available at the new rate.

Has anyone stayed at BC for Star Wars Weekends? My son and I are going to SWW on Friday May 31, and will be staying at the BC.

Park opening that day is 8am. Since I know the park usually opens prior to 8am for SWW, I am sure the boats will not be running from the resorts as early as I need them to be. I am guessing my only option might be to walk.

We have no desire for any celebrity autographs, but my son does want to do JTA. I figure we want to be in line at the turnstiles between 6:30 and 7.

4 days to go!!!

Quick question regarding coffee: I'm assuming its still the Nescafé stuff at the Marketplace. If so, I may bring my own coffee to make in the room. All I need to bring is my coffee right? Filters will be there?

If you are staying at the BCV'S then you will have a coffee maker that takes a 12 cup basket filter. I always bring my own coffee and filters when staying there.. Coffee is too important and not having filters would be unacceptable. ;)

If you are at the BC then the coffee maker takes single cup coffee pods.

We'll be at the BC. So, is it a Keurig style coffee maker? Should I bothe brining my own coffee?

Unfortunately they are not the Keurig style. Take a look at post #14 on the first page of this thread and you can see a picture of the machine and the pods.

Lots of questions about the types of coffee makers in the rooms at the BC/YC and BCV. Understandably, there is a lot of confusion, because there are 3 different styles of coffee makers depending on what type of room you are staying in.

This really is important stuff! As those of you who have followed this board for a long time know (and are probably sick of hearing), my very first post to this board was "What kind of coffee makers are in the rooms at the Beach Club" I actually brought my own coffee maker when we stayed at All Star Music in 2008.

Here is the info from the "Other Useful Info" post on Page 1. As far as I know, this info is current and correct, but if anyone has experienced anything different, please let me know.

What kind of coffeemakers are in the resort rooms?

As of October 2011, the drip coffee makers in the BC and YC resort rooms were replaced.

The regular resort rooms and club level rooms (including Deluxe Rooms) now have the Cuisinart Double Pod Machines:

Thanks for the photos Rorey, Cinderumbrella and MickeyT!

Here is what I believe are in the rooms currently. Anyone who has been there more recently, please correct this info if it is wrong:

All regular (non-club level) rooms: Cuisinart Pods

All standard club level rooms, all views (standard meaning non-suite), including Deluxe Club Level Rooms: Cuisinart Pods

Suites (1 BR, 2 BR, VP, Presidential Suites): Keurig K-cup

Beach Club Villas- Mr. Coffee-type makers (4 cup for studio, 10 cup for 1BR, 2BR)

I think this applies to both BC and YC- again, let me know if I am wrong!

I don't "do" Nescrape! Is there anyplace at the resort where I can get a REAL cup of coffee???

REAL COFFEE ALERT!!!

Ale and Compass is located just off the Yacht Club Lobby.

In the morning, breakfast items are available like a DECENT cup of coffee and tea, pastries, an assortment of cereal and fruit. This location also serves as a refill station for your refillable mug until 11 or noon.

Check out the what the coffee pods look like on Page 1 of this thread, it is near the bottom before the BOG List!!

So happy everyone got their Sunken Treasure cards!! You are so very welcome!!

Catching up on the thread this morning and reading all the thank you's to Magicalmoments4 and starting to feel a little sorry for myself because I didn't receive my recipe card. Checked the pile where I've been tossing the envelopes with ticket orders for the next jazz band concert (treasurer of HS music dept here :wave2:) Ta da!!!! There it was! So, many, many thanks MM4. You're a star. :goodvibes

Last year the boats started running at 7 am for a 8am scheduled opening. We left YC at 7am last year, on foot, and beat the boat with time to spare. We walk fast though! ;)

Keep a close eye on the SWW thread on the theme parks board. Last year the park opened earlier than scheduled almost every day (30-45 minutes and virtually everyone in line went straight to JTA sign ups). If you are at the DHS gate by 7am, you will get a sign up slot if you head straight there :thumbsup2

Thanks for the replies on my coffee question! I sometimes look forward to waking up so I can have a cup of coffee. Disney coffee makes me want to sleep in.

Can BCV peeps use the refillable mug station at the boardwalk bakery? To avoid Nescafé, I would prefer to not have to bring my own to brew in the room.

:yay::yay::yay: My first set of ME luggage tags arrived!! Actually, technically it is my second set. I called to get extra tags and they sent them right away with a note that the regular package with the instructions and passes will come separately. It may be a bit 'cause I am not arriving until June 17. But it made for an exciting morning.

Has anyone received a discount on a deluxe room at Yacht Club? I have received one at Beach Club for a deluxe room but it wasn't available at Yacht Club even though I was booking a year out. I am wondering if they are ever available.

I have been hard at work today making our tshirts to wear on Thursday. Here is the final product, front and back! I love it! Let my DS5 choose the final design because I couldn't choose just one!!

I am so excited for all of you leaving this week. We leave on the 17th, but I still have lots to do. Praying my ears clear up. First time I have ever had ear pain with flying was 3 weeks ago (coming home from Nashville)...I thought my ear drum was going to rupture (it ruptured in November). Trying new meds now.

My question is where is everyone eating dinner on your arrival night? I am still up in the air on that one. Our plane arrives at 4:30pm (1:30 California time). I originally had reservations for Cape May, but with the CC guarantee I thought it might be too risky. I then made reservations for Captain's Grille, but I have recently read that they have changed their menu and read poor reviews...so I cancelled that! Ideas?

Jan

I worried about dinner for arrival night too. We land at 4:45pm. I finally decided to just plan to go to MK 7-11pm ish. If we are too tired from travel we can always just eat CS at the resort or CG walk up and get to bed early. If we are too excited for that we will hit the park. This way no worries about being late for a credit card guarantee adr.

I will be there for SWW next weekend and will try and remember to post back what time I see the boats starting to DHS. Hoping to get to SWW Fri or Sat next week.
