$100 Difference, take the savings or upgrade resorts?

There is only $100 difference between the Value and Moderate, what do you do?

  • Keep Reservations as is. Stay at the Value and pocket the $100

  • Upgrade from the Value Resort to the Moderate Resort

Just out of curiosity... If you had a vacation to WDW booked and a promotion such as Free Dining were released and your savings for your current VALUE resort reservation would be $700 and if you changed to a MODERATE resort, it would be a $600 Savings, what would you do?

1) Pocket the $100 difference and stay at the Value
2) Upgrade from the Value to the Moderate

Let's say this is your first family trip to WDW and you are staying for 7 nights.

Oh, and EDITed to add that the $100 difference is with the VALUE and upgrading (paying the difference) from QS Dining to Standard Dining. So, with both reservations it's for the Standard Dining Plan.

Moderate. No question about it. Queen beds, TS restaurant, theme pool has a slide and IIRC, with a moderate you get free TS dining.

I would upgrade because Moderate resorts get free dining (1 quick service, 1 table service, 1 snack per person/night). Value resorts get free quick service dining (2 quick service meals, 1 snack per person/night).

Upgrade to Moderate!

Would not like quick service plan and have heard the values can be noisy.

Upgrade! We like the additional dining options at the moderates, the pool theme/slide is better/etc.

We actually made this decision for our upcoming trip (leaving Saturday!) - we were going to stay value, but because of the discounts we are staying at POR. We stayed at POR for our honeymoon and LOVED IT, so I know we won't regret it for a second!!

Upgrade to POR ... It is the best moderate IMHO ... with free dining you are a short ferry boat ride away from some awesome eats at DTD! Enjoy!!

upgrade upgrade upgrade!! Mods are so much better than value!!!!!! Even the beds are more comfortable. Better pools- hot tubs. More relaxing- bigger rooms.

I agree with everyone else.....UPGRADE!! The mods have larger rooms, queen beds, double sinks, and a pool slide.

For $100 I wouldn't think twice!! Upgrade. We love Por. IMO it's one of the prettiest resorts in wdw. Mansion section is our fav.

If it were me, I would upgrade. It's only $100 more to stay at resort with queen size beds. Totally worth it, in my opinion.
