August 25, 2013 Dream - Who's here

Morning all:thumbsup2

Just catching up on my DIS reading with a coffee. Welcome to everyone new joining. You count our family in on fish extenders. I will forward all the info.
Most of our planning is done, but were still searching for a reasonable flight to our MCO on the 25th. The airlines have been fairly expensive lately not offering many deals, whats with that:confused3

I booked ours on Southwest as soon as they became available and they were by far the cheapest. Have you considered driving to Detroit and flying from there? And for what it's worth we are flying down on the 24th. I worry about flight delays and missing the ship.

We too are leaving on the 24th. Don't really want to drive to Detroit. I am considering flying into Tampa or Melbourne though. I am currently looking a Southwest flight for $156 pp, not great but still better than flying from Toronto. We'll see I just want to get it booked so I don't have to worry about it.

Re-posting this for everyone.

Hi there,

I did send a email for our family wanting to participate in the FE with everyone. I was just wondering if it was received by who ever is taking care of it (thank you by the way). I didn't see our name of the google spreadsheet

Can someone let me know if they received it.

Cheers

Is everyone excited that we are now out of the triple digits and now in the double digit countdown? I KNOW I AM!!! :cheer2:

I sent away for my boys passports last week...when they come in I will be even more excited. I've already started putting things aside for the cruise and items for FE! tick - tock....its getting closer! :cool1:

I'm hoping we still have a Palo meet. I would LOVE that! Do we know if anything has been scheduled?

Also is anyone doing port adventures in Nassau or are you staying on the boat. I haven't made up my mind yet. I may get off just to get our passports stamped but then again I'm really wanting to do the sea lion excursion.

I'm hoping to meet others with boys around 10 and 8 so that my sons have some friends to play with in the clubs.

Joining:cool1: I am Brenda and my DH is Walt this is our 7th and 8th cruise. We are going to do our 1st b2b:banana:.We are doing the 3 day prior to this one. Our adult chidren might be joining us with our 1st GRANDSON:cloud9: but are unsure at this time. He is in the USMC and just returned from Afghanistan last week and will be joining a new unit month week so he is not sure those dates will work yet. We will be celebrating our anniversary. this will be our 3rd and 4th time on the Dream. To anyone who has not been to Nassau I suggest atleast getting off the ship and looking around, there are some little photo op areas. We will not be getting off as we heve been there to many times:rotfl2:I saw someone talking about the sealion excursion, we have done it and it was fantastic. It is a bit long travel time but the water is gorgeous to look at on the way. I would love to attend a meet at Palo's so sign us up. Can't wait we always have a great time, can't wait to meet everyone.:woohoo:

5/27/13 1226am and we're checked in w/1100am port arrival time and our Nassau (Seaworld Explorer Semi-Submarine) and Castaway Cay (Getaway Package) adventures chosen.

Kids still don't know. The plan is to tell them Saturday afternoon after watching Fantasy go out ("guess what guys, tomorrow we'll be doing that").

Good luck everybody, and see y'all there.

Chad

I'm SO jealous!! I am a newbie so I have to wait until June 11th.

Congrads on your check in. I bet your kiddos will be ecstatic!!

I just booked our Palo dinner reservation a few hours ago... as of 7am CDT today there were still brunch reservations available!?!?! We decided to do just Palo dinner this time, for us and the in-laws (this will be everyone's first time at Palo), and save brunch for next time.

I also booked the Extreme package for me, DH and our 6-almost-7 year old - stingrays, snorkeling, bikes & floats at CC.

And, we finally told DD about the cruise this morning. She was asking for an ice cream cake for her birthday, and I had to say no... she'll have to settle for a Mickey Bar instead (she seemed okay with that!)

One more thought - What's the final count for FE? (# cabins, # people)

I just booked shore excursions for me and my daughter who's turning 9 at time of sailing. We booked the Sea Lion Encounter at 9:30 in Nassau and the Watercraft Ski Adventure at Castaway at 2. Anyone else doing these? Anyone else with a daughter the same age as mine?

Still waiting for our cabin assignment because we signed up for a GTY verandah room. Has anyone received their GTY assignments yet?

We're going to do the stingrays at cc and in Nassau we'll be heading to Atlantis. I can hardly wait!

How far are you from Buffalo. We are driving to Buffalo and taking Airtran to Orlando. Found it cheaper to stay at Park/Sleep/Fly and leave car there, then to fly from Syracuse.

Good luck. Cindi

Is anyone doing the parks post cruise?

I'm agonizing about my itinerary.

I had HS on Thursday and MK on Friday and DQ on Saturday but I'm bummed about missing EP and AK. So I am now thinking of doing a park hopper.

But am I crazy to consider park hopping in 2 days with 2 boys?:confused3

We are going to Pop Century for 2 nights after the cruise. We went to the parks 6 times last year, so we may just do free stuff like the pool, Downtown Disney and take the monorail to various resorts to do pin trading. You will need to look at whether the cost of park hopper is worth it for only a couple days. Even when I had annual passes, I found it to be time consuming to hop around.

We're planning to stay at Pop now (was AoA, but 20% discount switched us) for 3 nights afterwards. Our planned parks are EP, MK, and HS. Our flight home Sunday is too early to do anything that day. Park Hoppers never really crossed my mind since we'll have a hard time doing everything in the parks we're visiting.

Good luck deciding on your Park choices.

Were booked for 5 nights at Wilderness Lodge after the cruise and will definitely be hitting all the parks while there. So looking forward to it:cool1:

Looks like quite a few of us are staying at POP.

My plans are really coming together. This morning I bought our airline tickets going down on Saturday. Patience paid off and I got JetBlue non stop for $100 each. Very pleased.

I extended our stay to Sunday to give us more time and decided against park hopping. We will just hit rope drop Fri and Sat.

Only thing left is to buy our return air (stalking rates) and to check in for cruise in 13 days. Yahoo!!

Anyone know if we are we doing a meet? Any word on a Palo meet. I would love to meet everyone. :)

We are staying at pop the saturday night before the cruise the three night after the cruise we are staying at AoA. We usually stay POR but decided to be different this time.

Were in Toronto and our plans are to fly from Buffalo. We have our return flight but have not found a reasonable going down flight yet. Not sure why the airlines are so expensive. We may even fly into Tampa. Which hotel are you staying at in Buffalo?
