MAY 2013 - PTR....hooray!!!

Hi everybody,

It's time to try a PTR - this holiday is hurtling towards us and I'm worried that it will all be over in a blurr if I don't stop and think a little bit - so, here we go!!

DH has a "conference" :rotfl2: in Las Vegas in early May - don't worry, I don't actually think that he's going to get any work done, but he works REALLY hard here at home, so he deserves to go and hang with the nerds at the whatever it's called computer thingy convention.

Saturday 4th of May 2013 - DH leaves us all alone here at home and flies to Las Vegas. :(

Tuesday 7th of May 2013 - DSIL (hubs' sister) arrives in Las Vegas from London. She's not going to the conference, but they are looking forward to spending some time together - it's been 18 months since we have seen her. :)

Friday 10th of May 2013 - DH and DSIL will catch the "red eye" to NYC.

Monday 13th of May 2013 - DS15, DD8 and I leave Sydney for NYC. We have one of those quick stops in LA (about 2 hours between flights), hopefully enough time for me to grab a People magazine and a packet of Raisinets after the nightmare of customs! :goodvibes

Friday 17th of May 2013 - DSIL leaves NYC to head home to London.

Monday 20th of May - fly from NYC to Orlando, Magical Express to Port Orleans Riverside where we have a Princess room with a pool view...DS15 is going to be thrilled...hahaha. :yay:

Sunday 2nd of June 2013 - fly from Orando to Las Vegas. Even though DH will have been there 3 weeks before - we want to swim, shop and go to the Cheescake Factory!! :cloud9:

Wednesday 5th of June 2013 - fly home to Sydney via LA.

Friday 7th of June - arrive home, cry, start planning next holiday!!

I have a lot of things planned already, I will add more things as I go along.

Enough rambling - now to get DH to set up my ticker - I'm useless!! :badpc:

Just re read this.... We're @ WDW at the same time!!!
We arrive 18/5 and are leaving 27/5
:) :) :)

Hi Fairy Floss - I'm sure that you're as excited as we are - it's so soon!!! I started counting the things that still have to happen around here and I'm struggling to see how its all going to fit in... :confused3

....but tonight, after such a busy week, I am in bed early with my iPad reading about everybody else's holidays!! Anything that needs doing is not going to get while I'm this relaxed anyway!! :upsidedow

Gorgeous day outside, I'm in the dark in my shop working away. I just got a visit from the family who are feeling sorry for me!!

It's all good - none of us will be feeling sorry when we get on that plane without any cares!! :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

I have never worked so hard in my life - the lady that works for me in my shop is recovering from an operation  , it's change of season which means it's psycho-town in here :hyper: , DH is leaving in 2 DAYS and hasn't even started packing  , my hair is an embarrassment (my hairdresser 10 steps from my shop yet I can't get time to see her) :( , and I have no idea what I'm going to pack and we leave in 11 days :confused3 ......

.....but......it's OK, because...... my lady is on the mend and will be back next week :worship: , a psycho-town shop means the bills are paid :cloud9: , DH is very easy to pack for :) , there is always the ponytail option :lovestruc , and whatever we don't pack we can buy when we get there!!

My glass is definitely more than half full - in 11 sleeps I'm going to the airport!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

In fact your cup brimith over (where's a frothy beer smiley when I need one!) Good luck with packing-at least your DH hasn't brought home a new, slightly bigger, bag than one of the existing TWO you were going to take and tells you we're packing for all 3 of us into that!!!

Oh no.....Aussie Wendy - I don't want to even imagine stuffing everything into one bag! :scared1:

DH will take one suitcase when he leaves tomorrow (OH MY GOD - HE LEAVES TOMORROW :eek::eek: !!!!!) - he is taking most of the "technology" with him, along with the cords and Kambrooks. He is also taking most of the toiletries, we will just bring our toothbrushes and some other basics.

DS15, DD8 and I will take 2 suitcases with lots of room in each - we plan to shop!! The other good thing is that minimum time that we are spending anywhere is 3 nights and that isn't until we all come back to Las Vegas together right at the end of the holiday - so we won't have to be dragging bags around every second day. I think that we will buy another suitcase at the Premium Outlets in Vegas and shop, shop, shop!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

We will miss DH very much for the next 10 days, and he is going to love being in Las Vegas for his conference - I'm just wondering if there is a conference that I can go to....maybe in Paris or St. Barts - anybody want come with me?! :cloud9:

There's no way we could fit our stuff into one bag, let alone coming home with only one?

We just bought some of those cheap foldable stripy bags to put in the bottom of our FOUR suitcases, so we will have plenty of room for all the shopping we will do (and that I have already done:confused3)

Busy Busy, I don't envy you for having to get ready and travel without your husband. Mine is pretty reliable and organized (more than me when it comes to practicality) so I couldnt do it without him.

Good luck over the next few days. I'm 5 days behind you!

Oh dear, I dropped my husband at the airport this morning and I had a lot more tears than I thought I would....

I had been so composed and we had such a funny drive in, I was really happy - until he stood next to the car at the drop off and said "this is going to be the best holiday, Tracey - and it's all because of how much work you have put into planning it".....................boooo hoooo!!! That is EXACTLY what this berserk planner wanted to hear!! What a faboo husband!!:love::love:

The last thing that we said to each other was "see you in NEW YORK"!!!! 9 more sleeps and away we go - and in case you can't detect it - I am VERY excited!!! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Busy Busy - What an awesome DH you have. And it really will be a great holiday for you all. :goodvibes

What a lovely post :goodvibes . I can feel your excitement and anticipation coming through in your words. Hope you have an amazing time ! :)

You're right PIO, he is pretty amazing -and lucky too! Not just because he married me, but also because he is in premium economy on VAustralia, sitting in a window seat with nobody next to him!! Yep, out over the ocean right now with a comfy seat, leg room, and no neighbour to climb over when he wants to get up!! All that AND all the shows he can stay awake to watch - what a great way to start the holiday!! :goodvibes

As for us at home, DD8 and I are watching Cinderella 3 in bed - ring-a-ding-ding!!!!! princess:

I also agree with you Aussie Shaz - DH is our "normal", sensible and organised one, where I am more "emotional"!!! We will miss having him to sort things out, but it's only 2 flights and we have all flown through to NY before. He'll be at the other end ready to look after us! :flower3:

I was watching Cinderella 3 as well. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a fantastic way to start a trip for your DH. May we all be so lucky!

Aaah..very sweet. The next 9 nights will go so very fast. Excited for you too!
OT-I didn't even know there was a Cinderella 2 let alone 3...you can tell we have never had any big traditional Princess fans in our family...we did watch Brave again today over lunch in preparation for Scotland. DD thinks if she had been little now that would have become her favourite movie (instead of Mulan).

Just a week to go!! I'm not ready yet, but I have this week all planned out....including DS15's subject information night for his HSC - how on earth did he get this old??

DH is having fun in Las Vegas, checking out the Venetian which is where we will be staying when we get there in June. His conference starts on Monday, his sister arrives on Tuesday and then they both head to NYC on Friday - this week is a huge one for all of us!!
