Another question re CSR...we're thinking of switching to a CSR waterview room from our AoA family suite. Do the rooms have fridges in them and microwaves?

Apologies if this question has already been asked. ;)

Fridge - Yes
Microwave - No

I think there are a few microwaves available at the front desk, but they are first come, first served. All rooms have fridges.

We checked in at 10:15 this morning. I had requested Casitas 4 or 5, but we got some pixie dust and ended up in Cabanas 9, first floor! Our daughter is turning 2, and they gave her birthday balloons at checkin, and when we got to our room, there was a voicemail from Mickey and Minnie singing happy birthday to her. So far, so magical!

The resort is gorgeous, but my oh my is it huge. After dinner tonight at Downtown Disney, we might watch Wreck It Ralph at the main pool.

Only minor complaint is it took 30 minutes earlier this afternoon to get from Downtown Disney back to CSR, no exaggeration, and it wasn't even that busy. Next time we will probably stay at a monorail resort, since I don't want to spend so much of our trip on a bus. Hopefully the rest of our stay sees quicker travel times!

Sweeeet!! :thumbsup2

Javail- It always seems to take a long time on the downtown disney buses no matter what resort you are at. CSR has some of the best transportation so I hope you have better luck going to the parks.

We we're suppose to go this November for our honeymoon but now we pushed it back to next November, This will be our first trip the WDW so 550 days is weighing on me. We're hoping for casita 4 or 5. We definitely want to stay away from el rancho if we can, being from Vegas I don't care for the desert scene during the disneymoon.

Really excited to use garden grocer as well, what a great idea.

Hi all, just got back Sunday from our first visit to CSR. We really liked it! We requested the Cabanas but got placed in Ranchos 6A instead. DH tried to get a different room but they weren't able to accomodate us (boo). However, it wasn't bad there. It was about a 10 minute walk in the mornings to El Centro for Breakfast (and then we would get on the bus at stop 1) but in the evenings we would get off at stop 3 and it was a short walk back to the room. Our morning walks were actually very pleasant and relaxing honestly. We didn't feel far from the main pool either. All in all it was a wonderful resort!

We're back now from our stay at CSR. A wonderful resort. The grounds are gorgeous, staff very helpful, Pepper Market surprisingly good, and pool tremendous fun.

However, the busses, while frequent and easy to use, just took too much of our time. When we go back next, it will likely be Poly. The allure of the monorail is too great, especially with a toddler in tow.

I would certainly recommend CSR, though, to anyone who doesn't mind the bus rides, or need to return to the resort in the middle of a park day for a break.

DTD is a pain to get to and from no mater what resort you are at. We simply do not take a bus there from any resort. Remember that the only place the mono-rail takes you directly is MK, and with a connection, Epcot. We have stayed the gamete from Deluxe to Value and CSR has had the BEST overall transportation of any resort.

We're staying here in September and just wondering what is the best way to get to DTD if not using the buses?

Hello all! I know this thread has discussed this bus thing at length, but I have a slightly different perspective. My DH has severe arthritis and uses an ECV at WDW. It worked great last time with bus transportation at AKL. Unfortunately we can't afford to stay there again. We were thinking Pop for the 1st week of December due to its price, small size and single bus stop. But I was just running prices using the current free dining promo since historically the promo for Dec 1-7 is the same as this one (higher reg rates though). I realized that assuming free dining and upgrading to the 1QS/1TS dining plan, CSR would be only $163 more! I think CSR is a gorgeous adult friendly resort and the perfect place to celebrate 5 years of marriage and 100 lb weight loss (we still have 31 lbs to go jointly). Also we both love Mexican food so if we eat at the resort I think we'd like the options.

My only reservation is the 4 bus stops and large resort size. I know the ECV adds to load time so if anything I hate making people move for him or just adding to an already long bus ride. However if my research is right CSR is closer to the parks than others...so maybe it would even out? The size thing is mainly for me...I hurt so bad last time with all the walking in the parks, but since I will be over 50 lbs lighter maybe it will be easier. DH can zip around on his ECV really well so I am not really worried about the size of the resort for him. :) But we also can't just hop a bus to the main building either since loading him is a pain. So that means more walking for me!

So my question is, what is everyone's opinions on CSR buses with an ECV vs. Pop in regard to overall travel time/convenience?? Also any suggestions for which area would be 'best' for us? A good combo of me being close to food but us not being on the LAST bus stop and making everyone move or having to wait for another bus?

Thanks in advance I am so sorry for bringing up a such common topic. :flower3:

Your point is well taken. Our next trip will focus mainly on MK and Epcot, so that will work best for us :)

If you don't have a car, you have to use the buses or take a taxi. As long as you're prepared for it, the buses are a perfectly fine way to get to/from DTD. But don't leave the resort at 5:00 hoping to be at DTD for a 5:30 ADR. Likewise, don't head to the DTD bus-stop at 5:00 if you have an ADR at another resort at 5:30. If you're spending an afternoon or evening shopping and not in a big hurry to get to or from DTD, it's not a big deal.

And FWIW, the worst bus experience to or from DTD we ever had was from the WL, a deluxe. We had spent the morning at MK, took the boat to WL for lunch and decided to take the bus to DTD for our last-day souvenir shopping. The bus picked us up and went all the way to the GF to pick up more guests, then back-tracked all the way back near WL to go to DTD. It took at least 45 minutes - crazy!
