Hi fellow 'Poppers'! We are set to arrive at Pop in just 28 days and I was wondering if I could get some room request help? I did online check in and put in 3 requests. Ground floor, Lake view, 60's section. I only paid for a standard room, but I'd love to be in the 60's section close to the pools. I know that I'll be on the back side facing the lake if I get the 60's section request and that's fine. Can I or should I call in with my requests as well? I wish that I wouldn't have checked that I wanted first floor, as having the 60's section is the most important to me at this point, but it won't let me undo that option. Thanks for any help!

Yes. You can call in to confirm or change your requests. Will only take a few minutes.

Of course they are only requests as you know, and they will do the very best they can.

We got back sunday night from a 9 night stay at Pop--and it was wonderful! We were upgraded to a prefered pool view room, and there is only one problem with that--now I am going to want one from now on!! We were on the first floor, right next to Balloo, and I didn't notice as much noise as I had last stay in the 70s! My husband asked me if they insulated those rooms better or something

We actually used the pool this time since it was right there and didn't involve effort to change and get there after all day in the parks, and we actually went to Petals this trip. Those Hula-Hoops are just too tasty!!

We ate in the food court for one breakfast and one dinner. Food was good both times. It was crowded due to the cheerleaders and the high school band that were there, but the kids were all well behaved and we enjoyed watching the cheerleaders rehearse where the jets used to be.

I am very happy with my stay, and regret that I won't be at Pop in January, but my daughter's wedding will be at Shades of Green, and even if she and her fiance are staying at Pop (for the Run Disney busses-they are getting married friday and running the 1/2 marathon on saturday), someone needs to be at the hotel where the wedding will be (and since DH is the service member, it gets to be us.)

Thanks! I've actually never had my requests honored, lol, so not sure why I'm trying this time, but I just can't leave it to chance. I've nicely and politely asked to be changed the other 2 times we've gone, and have been accommodated to the best of their ability at the time. I would really like to try the 60's section this time though. Too bad I'm too cheap to actually pay to ensure that ;-) HAHA

I just want to make sure we have a connecting room with my mom (which we put on our original reservation) and a nearby room with my sister and her family (again on original reservation). I would also LOVE a 1st floor room.

You sound exactly like me! I requested the buildings close to the front and if I don't get them I'm hoping they can move me when I check it. But I refuse to pay for Preferred lol!

POR and POFQ are the only resorts that still read faxed room requests. All other resorts toss them.

Yup! As dansdad said they don't accept faxed requests any longer. Your best bet is to make sure you have your requests noted in your original reservation and then do online check in reiterating your same requests in the same order. And be sure to put your requests in the order of importance. That is really important to do so that way if they can't meet all of the requests, they can meet the most important ones first. Well, I would call and change your request at least on your reservation. I don't know that they can do much about your online check in but I wouldn't lose all hope. If you are willing to take ANY floor, 1/3 of the sixties bldgs are standard rooms. that leaves you with a pretty good chance of getting a standard room even if you have to ask to be moved to one when you check in. the point is you just might have to be flexible about not being on ground floor if you really want to be in the sixties. But 1/3 of the section is quite a bit of rooms to choose from esp if you only need ONE room! KWIM?? I think you have a really good chance! Hope you enjoy! I'll be arriving (for my 4th stay at POP this year!) with youner DD shortly after you check out!

Just curious, we will be going down in 3 weeks and I remembered how foggy it was last September. It was great for taking pictures overlooking Hourglass lake but everything is wet.

This time next Wed. we will be checking into POP. I am soo excited. It will be a quick trip of only 4nights. Seems impossible to do everything we want in that short amount of time. We usually go for at least 9 days. But this time it is just DH and I. We will have a blast!!
I have requested 60's building near the bridge. When we were there in Dec. they basically let us choose where we wanted to stay. Castmember handed us the map and said 'you pick'..anywhere you want and we will see what we have available! It was perfect. Ground floor, last room, right by the bridge! We absolutely loved it there.
Hopefully I get some pixie dust this time!

We will be going again in Aug. and I really want to try CSR but I am afraid I will miss POP. POP has that 'just right' feeling for us that we can't shake. lol But want to try something different.
The price difference will be $585 to upgrade to CSR business class compared to POP. I think it is worth the price, DH is not quite sure. We have even thought about a split stay since we feel the need to keep up our POPathon. lol
