Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls tonigth .......

That's what I'm afraid of, that when it's announced they change it to arrival dates until the 24th. Or that they do add out dates in the end.
*Sight* :sad2:

I wouldn't change if it meant that I had to spend an extra $600 to change my flight. The value of free dining really drops then. And there may be other discounts offered later. Last year Disney released a bunch of dates for free ding through Dec. Then some time later they added additional free dining dates for the same period. I specifically remember them increasing the free dining dates for December with that second offer.

I agree; at that point I'd just go and pay for dining and try to get a good deal on the room or something to balance it out.

How much would the dining save you free dining/vs the food budget you had?

Yeah $600 extra for airfare kind of takes away from the free dining a bit. Plus you may still get it. Sometimes they add dates, plus there will be another offer made in July or August for later dates. Noone knows if it will be free dining, but with that $600 difference, it might save you just as much. Tough call, but I don't think I would change things around until the official announcement is made. Now if the change was free, that would be another story.

Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but does the Hollywood derby participate in free dining?
:confused3
Thank you

$600 is a lot for six people, but since we are all paying separately, I would only pay $120 for a change of dates for me.
I've done a little math thanks to Excel:

These are all prices without any type of discount, right?
Now, if we travel during the Food offer, to make this fair I would have to add the $600.00 I would have to pay for change in flights.

This gives us:

No dining plan price (Because the Quick Service would be "free") + 280 (two people in a room of change of flight):

It's still a $471 dollar saving for two people. Which is still pretty good, compared with the price with Quick Service included.
Of course, taking into account the $400 I would have to pay for extra the hotel (But since is three complete extra days for everything included, it's still pretty awesome!)
All calculations made with All-Star-Music Hotel.

PS: I did the math right.....right? Please point me a mistake if I did!

Really glad to hear that the free dining plan we be available during my vacancy (sept 7-14). Do you know if we can pay the difference between the Quick service Dining plan and the regular dining plan if we book to a value hotel and if the free dining plan will be offer for canadian also

Yes, you can upgrade and yes, Canadians can book this FD promo.

Another off-beat question that came to mind today...

We have 5 people, we booked at Port Orleans so we can use the extra bed for our youngest, who's 10. Plus of course he pays full price for park tickets.

Now if they offer free dining, do we get it for all 5 of us?

Even though the room tecnically says "sleeps 4" they had that extra bed and said we could put a child in it for 5. But would they let all 5 of us get the free dining? How does that work?

There is no way we can do 2 rooms, or upgrade resorts to a room for 6, that's not even an option.

All 5 get dining. Dining plans are Magic Your Way plus Dining Packages, so those are tickets + dining. So anyone on the package gets park admission plus dining credits.

The flip side is when dining isn't free, you can't choose to buy dining for just some people on the package -- everyone on the reservation/package has to be included on the dining plan and there is a charge for all. You cannot purchase a dining plan for just 2 of 5 people and split the food.

Awesome, thank you so much!

Disboards rocks, you guys here are terrific!

For the veterans, I know Danny and Black announced the FD offer will be available to book starting May 9th for the General Public, but when do they actually ANNOUNCE it? Is it also May 9th, or will they announce it earlier saying "bookings from May 9th to X for stays September 2-25"?

Thanks!

They usually announce the day of the Disney Visa offer that it will also be available to general public on such n such a day, but that is usually all the advance notice they give.

Do TAs or Disney Specialists get any advanced notice to the Visa date? :scratchin

Don't worry, if you were around for the summer offer you'll remember that it was announced here pretty fast when visa offers became available. I logged on just after 7am and already posts about it being active.

No, those rooms technically sleep 5, that's why they book up so quickly, because all the families of 5 want them because they are the cheapest way for a family of 5 to stay on site. I would be on the phone first thing because those Alligator Bayou rooms will be some of the first to sell out at POR for FD.
