October 2013 Code Watch?!

Oh, I don't think October will totally be blocked out for free dining. At the very least, the last week of October is a historically low crowd week and they will most likely need to fill resort rooms that week.

I don't think "historically" has any bearing on what will be happening this year. This is already proven. No free dining in January or early February. September dining cut down to the ACTUAL lowest predicted crowds. Plus, anecdotally, we are going the next last and last week of October and my desired room category at YC and BC were both sold out by late January. I wouldnt consider 7s on the crowd calendar to be low crowds, anyway. I think the writing is on the wall. However, I do believe there will be a room discount or a Stay, Play, Dine discount, just not free dining. I guess we will see!

Ok....instead of converting them, can I use TS credits at CS locations? I'm sorry for all the questions but I'm a rookie to the dining plans and staying on property. I've never done it before.

Yes, you can convert them at the restaurant.

We'll see :-)

Would it be more of a hassle, do you think, to just use TS credits at CS locations or just convert our TS credits to CS credits at our resort when we get there? I'm just trying to plan things out in my head sorry lol

If it were me, I'd do it at the CS locations. This way you have the flexibility of changing your mind mid-trip and using TS credits for TS meals. When you run out of CS credits, just start using TS credits for remaining CS meals. Just tell the CS cashier what you're doing and there shouldn't be any problems.

I'll just be happy with anything:) When I looked at the crowd calendar for the third week of October it had mostly 4's and a couple of 6's. Has that changed?

Ok...makes sense. It's crazy, I know, that I'm trying to figure out an October promotion before its even available. I'm so glad you guys have patience for people like me. I need Disney Planning For Dummy's!! Lol :)

EasyWDW has higher crowd predictions, generally, than Touring Plans right now. TP lowered them a couple weeks ago and then raised them higher than they were originally shortly after. I have 3 7s during our trip.

Don't get me wrong, very happy to be returning to WDW after two years but this will be our highest crowds ever (we have only been in early December, late January, September and late October...back when it truly was quiet). Our trip is tied to a family wedding, if I could switch to September's FD I would.

Does anyone know why easywdw has so much higher crowd predictions than touring plans? Sunday the 6th is a 2 on touring plans and a 7!!! on easywdw. This makes me very nervous!!!

I wish Disney would release offers prior to 180+10. My dates could be flexible and changed to September to take advantage of free dining, but no ADR's are available at the restaurants or times I wanted, by now, for September.

Well, I'm still holding out hope for a room discount, but seeing as my dream resort (Beach Club) is already mostly booked by (I'm assuming) the Gartner symposium for my dates, I'm not very hopeful. I don't want to switch dates to later in October, because no discounts are guaranteed yet, anyway. And by the time they are, there's the ADR problem again, and your dates aren't flexible anymore.

We are staying at POFQ and are able to pay for the trip without discounts, so I'm very thankful for that. Sure would've liked to upgrade to BC, though.

Sorry, just had to vent somewhere!

on the iphone there is an application called Notes, Open it then hit the + sign to make a new page. I put the title as the first line. Save it like that and then whenever you open Notes you see a list of "notes" I just open the WDW one and as I find stuff I want to remember I type it in. Every so often if I need to, I click on the bottom of my page (the box with an arrow in it) and send it to my email account.

From my email I can put it into an excel sheet or word document if I need too, but I usually just leave it in my notes and refer to it as I need it.

I keep all my travel confirmation numbers (hotel/airline/rental car) as well as a day by day list of my ADR's or events.

I also put any thing I expecially want to remember. I have a 4S and I can actually add to a list by voice command but I rarely do that as it just automatically adds it to the bottom and I like to add my notes to a specific day.

It's really just a long list.

I have a bunch that I change a lot like Shop, ToDo, Call. These I go in and edit as I do the activity or add to it. Then I have all travel under it's name and those get added to as I do something or reserve or get info. I love that feature. It's not as easy as being able to copy and paste but I don't mind typing and since I always have my phone it's easy to edit or look up something.

Good info! My notes on my iPhone 4S are exploding with categories! Sounds like we think alike :) thx!

Anything I could say is a total guess, lol. Then again, so is WDW crowd prediction! They agree more at other times of year, I have noticed, so October crowds historically must be more volatile. I do believe TP's are a bit under-estimated though.

I agree. I think 180+ and their pattern of discount announcements well after isn't customer friendly at all. 90 days worked much better, in that respect.

I have a question my 180 day mark is this Sunday am I able to book my dining reservations at midnight or do I have to wait until the morning and at what time can I start booking ?
Thanks

6 am EST online. 7 am EST by phone.

Its at 6am. When I booked our vacation over the phone, for some reason the CM I spoke with told me you could do it at midnight, which I had never heard before. I got excited...but then checked with tons of other people just to be sure. Sure enough...everyone said 6am. I even tried doing it at midnight just to make sure...with no such luck. Once 6am came though, it was good to go. I'm not sure why she said that.

6 am ET online, but if your PC clock is running a little late, try like 5:55 am ET, etc. I was able to book at 5:58 am ET because it was off I guess. :rotfl2:

I honestly can't believe what I'm hearing! This is our first October trip, and maybe I just don't know what to expect. We have never had problems getting dining reservations! Our 180 day mark was on Monday, I sent our information to our TA last week. She emailed me yesterday and said that she did the best she could and really only 1 reservations is a tad off of what we asked for. Tonight she emailed me to tell me that she had a lot of trouble getting the pirates league booked for my boys, I asked for mid afternoon and the only time she could get was 9:25am! We have a reservation at 7:55 at O'hana.
