We are big cabana folks (as you probably already know). We have rented cabanas at both Aquatica and Discovery Cove, and even had one at Great Wolf Lodge once. I had always thought the DC cabana, which came with all sorts of neat stuff like a t-shirt, photo frame, underwater camera, sling pack, 6 x 8 photo (and more) was a big splurge at $229. This is cheap in comparison to Disney. And you know what I always found worse? The Disney cabanas don't even have walls or sides to close up when you want some privacy. You would think, for over $300 a day, they'd have sides AND a TV.

Oh Lord.......$500 for a day ?!?! :faint: Just when I thought it couldn't be any worse than the BB or TL cabanas !

Yes, can you believe it?? And what's more amazing is that there are 12 of them, I think, and they have been long gone for our cruise!

Time for a QOTD to liven up a dull and boring Monday........

Your Fairy Godmother gives you $500, with the stipulation that you must use it towards something special or "extra" for your trip. What would you use it for?

Upgrade your resort? Add on a special activity? Take the family out to a fancy restaurant? Rent a limo to get to and from the airport? Buy extra souvenirs?

Or ...... ?

Ahhh, I like this one! We're staying at the Poly, so I would splurge on a cabana rental for one day. Then with the leftover cash, maybe dinner for DH and I at Victoria & Alberts? (this year is our 20th anniversary, so that would be a nice way to celebrate :thumbsup2)

This will be our second time there, but last time we only had 2 days. We do want to do all the parks. I'm not so concerned with pool time and am even thinking about just going to the parks by myself if he wants to hang back and relax. I know that we'll be back so while it won't be the end of the world if we don't "do it all" i'd like to do as much as possible ::yes::

Sounds like a great way to tour! Your dates are definitely enough with that in mind. I totally recommend touringplans.com for their touring plans if you want to get a lot done without long waits in line. I'll send you a PM about it.

Congrats! What's your official anniversary date?

We celebrate our 20th this year as well (in just over a week, actually....May 1st.). Hard to believe I've crossed over the line of where I have now been married longer than I was single. Time flies when yer havin' fun! :p

Dinner at The Brown Derby, and that other expensive place and Victoria & Albert's and that would likely eat the $500 LOL

We have never been to La Nouba or if my DD was old enough possibly snorkeling in the tanks at the Seas or maybe a horseback ride at Fort Wilderness. I wonder how many extra activities we could do with $500? I used to do a special activity every year after we had been going for a few years but last year we ended up cancelling our mother/daugher tea at GF.

Welcome aboard! Yes ma'am (or sir?), its for anyone travelling to Disney in August. What are your dates, and where are you staying? SenecaWolf, our Mother Superior, will add you to the list on the first page if you are willing to share some of your details (she'll also add your ADR's, if you have made them).

Lime Green Mickey Heads are a way to identify fellow Disers while at the Disney parks. SenecaWolf will personalize one with your Disboards name which you can print and attach to your purse, backpack, stroller, or wherever.

Thank you, Gina!
I will be there from August 4-10. Staying onsite (for the first time) at Coronado Springs. I have only been to Disney once before, nine years ago. My sister and I are bringing our Mom back. We are very excited!

Can someone explain Photopass to me? I've seen people mention it as being $150.
Could you send me a private message so it's easy for me to get if I'm not on here for the next few days? I'd appreciate it!
Thanks!:woohoo:

I took dd to La Nouba once. We went for the cheapest category of seats ( I believe that's category 3) and I can honestly say they were great seats with a perfect view and I wouldn't pay more to sit closer. So if you see a deal on those consider them.. it's an excellent show!!!

I would upgrade our last night to stay at a deluxe.

99 sounds alot better! You must be going at the start of the month. Congrats on your double digits!:goodvibes

I reserved a garden view room at POR for our first night. The rest of our trip will be in the RR with the summer package. The difference between the garden view and the standard RR is $18. Should I just get a RR for the first night as well?

For only an $18 difference I would go with the RR but only if you knew you could stay in the same room. If you are going to have to change rooms anyway then you might as well save the $18.

Well, I'm lucky! My friends are DVC members, and they are treating us to a villa at OKW, so I don't have to worry about resort costs. :yay:

You have very nice friends.... I can't say I would ever be that generous :rotfl:

Hi all! I've been lurking for a while, but still around. I just had to post this picture real quick. I know 118 is still far off...but considering we started at 354 or something, it seems pretty exciting! :goodvibes
EDIT:
Well nevermind, I can't post the pic. I wish this site allowed you to upload directly here! Anyway, I hope everyone is well, and excited like we are. Happy spring!
