That's strange. I have a room only reservation for August and I just pulled up the email confirmation and it does not specify any check in time. Is your confirmation from Disney or a non-Disney travel agent? My confirmation specifies "requests" are not guaranteed, etc. but does not give check in times.

Copy and pasted directly from my confirmation:
Resort Check-In/Check-Out
Check-in time is usually between 3 and 4 p.m. (some hotels have check-in after 4 p.m.), and check-out time is usually between 11 a.m. and 12 noon. During peak periods, check-in may be delayed one to two hours.

Reply: Booked through Disney and from the Reservation Confirmation document- it was in the fine print of the contractual language under the details of the reservation.

I just looked at my reservations on disneyworld.com I have one room only reservation through a TA for next month as well as a room only booked directly through Disney for Aug. Both at YC. They both have this right on the website when I look under "My Reservations"

7 Nights, 8 Days
Check in after 3:00pm, May 18
Check out before 11:00am, May 25

2 Nights, 3 Days
Check in after 3:00pm, August 02
Check out before 11:00am, August 04

My reservation for WL in July is the same. So weird that not everyone gets the same info.

I have questions regarding online check in vs. regular check in. Do the room assigners assign rooms to the online check in people first and then the regular check in people get what is available when they get there? I'm just trying to figure out what method gives you the best chance of getting requests met. If the room assigners give the balconies ahead of time to the online check ins who request that, would your chances be diminished by regular check in? Or, do the room assigners assign rooms to all reservations a day or two ahead of time regardless of check in status?

Thanks!!!!!!:)

Doing on-line does not have anything at all to do with your chances of getting what you requested.

Just returned from first stay at YC! It was fabulous! (I had stayed at BCV twice before.). I really liked being first on, first off the bus!! I also loved that crew cup lounge had coffee ready by 5:15 every day! It wasn't good coffee - but it was hot!! And, I loved that the boat dock was a few steps closer. The only negative I can think of is that we had to walk to beachclub marketplace (ok - only I did!) to refill mugs when we went to pool at 10 on checkout day, because both Hurricane Hanna's and The ice cream shop are closed until 11 am.

Glad it was wonderful! Thanks so much for posting the info re Hurricane Hanna's opening time. I had wondered here if the refillable mug station was available before their official opening (as it sounds like it is in other resorts' poolside stations) but it sounds like it isn't.

Well, that obviously covers all resorts ... regular deluxe, value or vacation club. It's nice to know they have that on the confirmations ... people think that if the check in is at 3 PM, they are guaranteed a room at 3 PM. That language pretty much covers it. I checked my reservation confirmation again ... guess because it's a CM reservation, the language is different. There are CM related stuff on the confirmation so obviously its different.

And by saying "AFTER 3 PM" it pretty much lets you know that it might be later than 3 PM, not exactly at 3 PM.

Do most BC folks walk to HS, take the boat, or ride the bus?

My vote is boat to HS, walk to Epcot

Walk to Epcot. We love the boat to HS but we are very impatient (well, my kids and I are...poor DH has endless patience) so walk often, especially in the evenings when the line is so long we would have to wait for a second boat.

We are closing in on our first trip to BC, 4 days and we'll be there!!!

Made my case of water purchase from MouseHouse this morning....thanks from recommendations on this board. You guys have been a great help.

Just got back from getting my haircut. Hair has to be nice and short for the cruise ... lots of swimming! Off to the Mayo Clinic tomorrow for check-up. Keeping my fingers crossed! Then home on Friday to pack and off to the Disney Fantasy on Saturday morning. Knowing I'm going on the cruise makes tomorrow's trip to the Mayo Clinic not so bad.

I totally agree about honesty and maybe I'm naïve but I think it's normally not an honesty issue. I've never heard a CM at the Y&B tell a lie to someone on purpose when they knew they were lying. I think it's a matter of the CM not knowing the correct information.

I can tell you at the Y&B the surveys are read and talked about at meetings in the various departments.

If someone has a major issues that isn't resolved to your satisfaction, I suggest firing off an email to guest communications in addition to the survey. You will most likely get a phone call shortly thereafter.

Well, we are hoping to have NO issues coming up on this trip- :) and it was sort of dealt with, but not until I chased down every person about 3-4 times- we still had a great trip, we just wish our room issues and the way things were handled were better. But we can't wait to see the Beach Club, we loved it when we walked around last year and the kids are looking forward to it!

Here now at YC CL and, yes, they can give you water bottles to take into the parks. They are not out...you need to ask for them. Very convenient!!

Also I did take a pic of the showerhead. I will post it this weekend when we get home, unless mousemommy1 beats me to it :)
