2013 Free Dining Watch

I keep seeing these prices whilst my husband is set on driving. :confused3 I just looked at Jetblue $945 for 5 of us.

Even though Islip is 10 minutes from us, the price to fly southwest, with parking for a week at Islip is more than Jetblue + LIRR + the Airtrain..

Jetblue flies to Orlando?!?

I'm gambling by booking day after Thanksgiving, but it seems is usually starts the day after when they have it. *fingers crossed*

As soon as Disney leaks it is when you'll know. Normally this is a couple weeks but things can vary. I remember back in 2010 when I nailed the date, it was only a few days before it went live.

I hope I did this right! How do I make sure that I am notified when you find out about free dining? I too can only go if Free Dining is offered:worried:

Jumping in a little late here, but this WDW veteran is looking for advice!

We usually go down as a family of 4 and stay on rented DVC points, so free dining has never been an option. This year, I'll be heading down from CT w/ DH and DD4 in mid October - still staying DVC and paying OOP for DDxDP.

My question is: My DS20, a die-hard Disney fan who happens to fall on the Autism spectrum, will be traveling SOLO to WDW this summer! He's planning on staying at ASMo and has only 2 TS ADRs, although one is Le Cellier. He just wants to do quick service for the rest.

His dates are 8/22-8/27. We were planning on paying OOP for DDP, but are wondering what the chance is that he'll hit FD? Any guesses on the start date? Would it even be worth it for a single person to do a split ressie - room only and then package - if FD hits mid-trip...especially if he wants to upgrade to DDP at a Value?

We hadn't booked his stay yet because I was waiting for any sort of discount. I wasn't sure if I booked a package ONLINE and a room only discount (15-30%, 4 for 3 etc) came out, would I have to cancel the package and rebook? Or if I book a room only and FD is during his stay, do I just add the package? Thoughts?

HELP!!! So much for being a WDW veteran!

:)

Side note: We *have* booked his flight, so the dates are set. He's in college and classes start the day after he gets back!

I've heard online that CMs are blocked out from using their dining discounts for the late summer season when FD is usually offered. Is this a good sign?

I don't think one necessarily has anything to do with the other TBH.

Maybe. I heard that this was the same case in years past. When free dining came out for these late summer dates, CMs would lose their discount. Of course, I could be wrong, I'm just trying to get any scrap of information I can find.

I hope that's true! We booked for 8/23-8/28, but will only go if FD is offered!!! I hope that we do not have to cancel our trip

Thanks! Dumb ?? How do I subscribe to these posts to make sure I know ahead of time? I have booked a trip with my sister's family (her family's first time EVER) but we will have to cancel our vacation if free dining isn't offered.

Several flights a day from NY. I've been using JetBlue for Disney for 7 or 8 years now, maybe longer.

I fly out of Buffalo so may be quite different. I bought our tickets for September when the dates were first released, from Southwest. I got straight through both ways for $750 less then what they were a few days ago. Prices change a lot day to day. I was always told the best time is about 3 months before travel time or check Tuesday and Wed. I forgot which day but one has lower prices.

I have tried JetBlue but they never have a nonstop, if it is it's a lot more expensive. There are 5 of us in our family and we go every year or every 2. I have paid as much as 1500 but 1250 is the norm. I paid 1149 this time. We normally travel in July, August and once in December. It's like a darn game because of our family size. I hate to spend so much money just to get there. I only use JetBlue and Southwest because I refuse to pay for luggage.

I just flew JetBlue into Buffalo two weeks ago - too bad they don't go direct. We are also a family of five, so I feel your pain! $1149 is great! This year I paid 1300 for May and 1280 for August from JFK-MCO.
