"I had the Peanut Butter & Jelly milkshake and DH had root beer."

Mom's Old Fashioned Pot Roast - Slow cooked 'til fork tender, served with mashed potatoes, carrots, celery and onions


"For our mains, DH had the Pot Roast and he really loved it."

Aunt Liz's Golden Fried Chicken served with mashed potatoes, chicken gravy and green beans & carrots (subbed for the southern greens)

"For dessert, DH had the Boston Cream Parfait and said it was also pretty good and different from what we usually see on the Disney dessert menus. For my dessert, I finished my super milkshake." ​

Liberty Tree Tavern

The Liberty Boys BLT - slow roasted pork, fresh Greens and Tomatoes on a House-made Bread with caramelized shallots and mushroom-mayonnaise spread



She said, "This was my first time there and it was nice, I'd definitely to back and reorder the Liberty Boys BLT. Oh my goodness this may be the best sandwich ever. Don't let the name fool you, it's not bacon it's pork belly. And don't let the idea of pork belly gross you out because it is delicious. The bread it was on was amazing and every once in a while you'd get a good bite of caramelized shallot."

Sleepy Hollow

"My dining partner talked about the waffles at Sleepy Hollow and I had to have one. Everything tastes better when it's Mickey shaped, right? This is the waffle with strawberries and whipped cream. I only managed half of it, but it was worth it."

"As for dinner, I went to Boatwright's with a dear DIS-friend Deena (LuvLuvLuv). This was her choice and I almost feel bad telling people about it since it should be a hidden gem. I would absolutely eat here again on a future trip."

"My main was the Grilled Beef Tenderloin Medallions. This plate was empty by the time I was done with it. It all just worked together."

"She had the French onion soup. This is enough for a meal so if you want to do soup and a main I hope you're hungry. It looked like there was more cheese on here than was on my flatbread last night."




"For dessert, we both chose the same thing: bananas foster angel food cake. The only difference is I hate bananas, and while my request for banana-less dessert seemed to confuse our server, she was able to handle my suggestion of just doing berries instead. It was delicious and a great ending to the meal."

She looked like she suddenly didn't speak english. I didn't make it rocket surgery though, conversation went something like this:

"I'd really like the bananas foster angel food cake, but I hate bananas, is there something else I can get instead of the bananas"

*confused puppy look* followed by "the bananas are in the sauce"

"i know how to make bananas foster, can I have berries with angel food cake and ice cream instead?"

".....i can ask...."

I think I ruined her night, lol, but my substitute dessert was delicious!! It was the only thing that remotely enticed me, so I'm glad the chefs knew what I was talkin about, lol

Chicken Shawarma Platter served with side of Hummus, Tabouleh and a Tangierine Couscous Salad with fresh Moroccan bread



"I eat shawarma often at home, and this one is really good. It is a huge portion, would be good for sharing Beware the breath you will have after though."




For dessert I wandered over to the Flower and Garden Festival booth...



Pineapple Promenade

...for pineapple upside down cake and a dole whip. The upside down cake isn't the most attractive thing in the world but it's delicious and a great buy for $2.75. The dole whip was very refreshing and always a good choice."

Cap'n Jack's Restaurant

"For dinner I decided to take one for the team and go to Cap'n Jacks. I don't know what I was expecting but I was a little underwhelmed. There was only one server that looked like she was happy to be there, the rest of them just seemed like they'd had a VERY long day. I ate at the bar since I was solo, maybe I would have had a different experience in the dining room. I think this'll be a "been there, done that" location for me, but I'm definitely glad I tried it."

Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with Cajun Mustard Aioli, Green Asparagus Tips, and Roasted Garlic Butter Red Skin Potatoes


"I was wowed when it came to the table. It looked great and was pretty tasty too. The potatoes were really well done (well as in properly), I'm usually very cautious with roasted potatoes but I enjoyed these. The crab cakes were ok, I felt like there was a lot of filler to them but the Cajun mustard aioli made me forget about that. Honestly, the best crab cake for your buck on property is the one on the surf and surf burger at Art of Animation. Cheap and cheerful. But if you're feeling crabby these will surely do the trick."

The Presidio Passion - two scoops of vanilla ice cream smothered between layers of strawberry topping and our freshly homemade hot fudge.
Beautifully topped with whipped cream and a chocolate covered strawberry.


"I ordered the Presidio Passion. When you look on the menu this is NOT one of the ones in the pictures. I heard at least three people say something to the effect of "ohhhh chocolate covered strawberries....I should have gotten that". This is why it pays to read the WHOLE menu and not be lured in by pretty pictures, lol. Vanilla ice cream with strawberry sauce and hot fudge topped with a chocolate covered strawberry. I only managed about half of this, but it's pretty much the best thing I've ever had at Ghirardelli. I may have to go back for a Mint Bliss though, just to be sure." ​

Tomorrowland Terrace

"We shared the waffles and fruit and a Greek yogurt with granola and cranberries. We also had OJ and coffee."





"Then for lunch yesterday we went to...

"We waited about 15 min. to get in at 11:45 and we waited another 15 minutes for our food from the time ordered, not too bad."

Tuna Nicoise Salad - warm seared tuna steak with chilled green beans, potatoes, olives, roasted bell peppers, tomatoes, and hard boiled eggs

Grilled Steak Sandwich with garlic butter spread and pommes frites


"DH had the tuna salad and he loved it, I had the steak sandwich, also very good (btw, the steak was medium-rare and they don't ask for your preference, it was ok for me but some people may not like it)."

"For dessert DH had the triple chocolate cupcake and I had the lemon meringue one. They were both fresh and very moist! After lunch we took the time to visit the castle...very nice!"

Shogun Combo - teriyaki chicken and beef


"I got the "shogun combo". It was, amazing. The chicken and the beef were both great, portion was a good size and sauce was delicious. I would even say this could be the best QS chicken I've ever had. I could eat here multiple times on a trip. This was my first time and I look forward to doing it again."




"And since Japan isn't known for the best desserts I went to...


Sunshine Seasons

"...for chocolate mousse cake. I almost didn't want to eat the pretty green chocolate, but it had to be done. It was worth the walk, and walking to dessert justifies getting it, right?"

She said, "For dinner I had a DIS-date with deena (LuvLuvLuv) and our friend Debra (I can't remember her DIS-name though!! I'll check for tomorrow). We decided on Kona Cafe for dinner and it was great as always."



KONA CAFE


"I had the only alcoholic drink at the table, considering technically I was the only one on vacation. I had the, unpictured, Kona Cool Sundown. It was like a vodka and cranberry with a bit of a twist. I liked it!!"

Kona Coffee-rubbed Pork Chop - Grilled and served with Wild Mushroom and Bacon-Potato Gratin, and Seasonal Vegetables

"Dinner was the Kona Coffee Rubbed Pork Chop for me. I liked it, but the rub was burnt in some spots. I liked the potato it came with though and the pork was cooked to my liking."

Togarashi Spiced Ahi Tuna served with Tempura Fried Vegetable Maki Roll and Red Wine Reduction

"Debra got Togarashi Spiced Ahi Tuna. She said she enjoyed it, but did mention how spicy it was a few times. She also said how delicious the Maki Roll it came with was. If I liked fish, I'd probably order this."

Teriyaki-Style New York Strip - Sirloin Strip grilled with Pineapple Teriyaki Glaze served with Sticky Rice and Stir-fried Broccolinii


"Deena had Teriyaki Style New York Strip. She also seemed to enjoy this a lot. I've had it on previous trips and can verify its yummyness."

Kilauea Torte - An explosion of warm liquid Chocolate inside Chocolate Cookie Volcano

Chocolate Fondue with Fruit and House-made Cookies



"Debra and I were the only ones to order dessert. Debra got the Kilauea Torte, which she seemed to like (and I also discovered I was definitely pronouncing it wrong when the server repeated her order) and I had the fondue which was a great choice. I felt like a good girl because there was fruit in it."

"I started with the asparagus salad. DELICIOUS! DH had the peach salad, which he also loved."

"I had their seafood plate (our server described it as being like bouillabaisse but it had all the flavors of a paella with pearl pasta instead of rice). It was also DELICIOUS. DH had the veal shank which was fork tender and delicious. We had the pairing wines with our meal but I can't remember the names."

"For dessert I had the Chocolate Banana Torte and DH had the Tropical Creme Brulee, both were very good and well presented."

Surf and Surf Burger - Crab Cake topped with fried Popcorn shrimp, tomato, lettuce, and cajun remoulade on a brioche bun served with french fries


"I had the Surf and Surf Burger and it's just as good as I remembered it. No filler here, all crabby goodness!!
It's a messy meal so get lots of napkins!"

"And I couldn't walk away from the cupcakes, your typical delicious Disney cupcake. This place is worth a trip to Art of Animation even if you're not staying here. They've taken the food court style offerings to a whole new level."​
