Next Kayleigh sent us an update from their dinner last night at...

She said, "Our last dinner was at The Wave! I had cancelled our BOG reservations a few days earlier and made this ADR on the run the same day.

The menus online are not updated and the picture of the menu did not turn out so I'll do my best to remember!"

"We started with a rye bread with salted butter with crushed red pepper!"

"Chris ordered the Whole Grain Penne Pasta with Florida White Shrimp, Cedar Key Clams, Calico Scallops, and Roasted Garlic-Tomato Broth. He loved this dish and was kind enough to share (trade) a few bites with the rest of us. Delicious, with just the right amount of heat!"

"The rest of us had the Beef Tenderloin with lobster mashed potatoes, wild mushrooms in a veal reduction. The beef was perfectly prepared to order and was so tender we didn't need a knife! Beautiful dish! Very enjoyable meal!"

"A poor picture of the updated dessert menu! Voted our favorite dessert as a group!"

She said, "Hi there! Roxysmum reporting for duty.

First meal of the trip was at Epcot's...


Sunshine Seasons

"I got the Caesar salad with oak grilled chicken. It was very good, my only complaint is that the chicken could be more "bite sized". I hate using a fork {Not sure but I think maybe she meant knife here?} with salads, but I'm weird like that."

"Also for dessert, tiramisu. I don't pretend to be a connoisseur of tiramisu but I really liked it!! Nice and creamy with a nice espresso flavor."

She said, "Friday morning we had breakfast at...

"I had the breakfast pizza and and DH had the Belgian waffle with a huge side of bacon! Both were good."




"For lunch we had sundaes at Ghirardelli. Mine was a Mint Bliss and DH had the Espresso one (I forgot the real name). This was a good and refreshing lunch!"

"We shared the Misti, an assortment of cheeses, veggies and crostinis, also very good."

Rigatoni Calabrese - Italian sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, olives, and escarole.

Penne Bolognese with slow cooked beef and pork meat sauce


"For the mains I ordered the rigatoni calabrese and DH the penne bolognese but we ended up trading cause the rigatonis and a strong flavour of fennel/anise which I dislike but DH loves! Sadly we were too full for desserts." ​

"DD wanted a Mickey Waffle for breakfast, so I went down to the Mara and got her one."

Bounty Platter x 2 - with Scrambled Eggs, Pancakes, Potatoes, Bacon, Sausage, and a Biscuit.


"Breakfast yesterday and today was at Roaring Fork and we ordered Bounty Platters both times!"




"Kaiti ordered the breakfast croissant {no pic received} consisting of bacon, egg and cheese. It came with hash browns. She said it was good and ate about half."

"Josh had the children's pancakes without syrup and only ate a few bites."




"The breakfast service is fine here but I got tired of eating the same thing everyday! Should have tried some of these but they sound so sweet!"

"Yesterday we enjoyed our time at Epcot. We grabbed some snacks while walking around the World Showcase. Our first stop was at...

"We tried the salmon tartare and potato and cheese biscuit. This was pretty awful. Kaiti tried a bite, then we tossed it. The gentleman working the booth was so nice and invited us to try it. "You'll love it, everything is good here"...Whatever liar!"

"We also bought the Trio of Trifles. Josh scarfed down the chocolate trifle, while the rest of us tried the berry and ginger tea ones. They were pretty but not that great."




"After The Cottage disaster, I decided I was starving so the next stop was...

"I had to wait for it to open but I'm glad I did. The four of us split two orders of Fish and Chips."

"The fish and chips were freshly made and piping hot, it was really delicious! We were invited to share a table with Teri from Indiana. She brings down high school band students to perform at Disney! She was sweet and kind and Josh enjoyed talking her ear off!"

"Hey...Don't eat that, I haven't taken a picture. These cookies were quite soft and tasty, yum!"

"Another table mate, the ducks cleaned up all the crumbs."




"I wanted to try something here at the French booth but it all sounded yucky."

"I love this place, and since we just ate lunch why not eat some more?"

"We all shared the chicken and lamb combo, believe it or not we ate everything. The lamb was super tender and you could cut it with a fork. Chicken was also tender and flavorful! Jon declared it the best meal of the trip."



"Josh wanted chicken nuggets since he only ate fries from the fish shop and he ate almost the entire plate of nuggets. He also got a bag of potato chips which we used to dip in the hummus, so scrumptious!"

"We then ran to Test Track to use our fast passes then ran back to World Showcase. I wanted to pick a pearl in Japan. Hey, is that a Flower & Garden show food booth...Why yes it is, how can I say no?"

"We tried the Chirashi Hanazushi. It was quite tasty! Kaiti declared it way too spicy with the wasabi sauce. Well the sauce is described as volcano and dynamite! And it was dynamite. I would walk back here again, just for that dish!!"

"Too stuffed to try anything from the Marrakesh booth, so sad." ​

"Our last dinner of the trip was at none other than...

"I'm a huge Belle fan and I love that she loves to read!"

"This place was mobbed, people were everywhere. I could not figure out where to check in, so I asked a lady standing by the entrance if this was the check in line. She was kind enough to point me in the right direction."


"I thought we would have a very long wait considering the amount of people waiting on the bridge, but it was only about 15 minutes."




"Here is the check in place. Maybe a "check in" sign would be helpful? I thought it was for stroller parking. On a side note, the guy in front of me got a walk in reservation for 9 people for tonight! Wow, this was after he kept prancing around in line talking to himself about how he wasn't going to get in. Seriously dude, who cares if you eat here or not! The guy made me a tad nervous. I was afraid if they turned him away he'd start crying, and I'd have to call someone."

"Josh got to carry in the candelabra. The candles were lighted with bulbs and the hostess took it back after we were seated, but he did lead us in."

"We were seated in the Great Ballroom, the other two rooms were opened for dinner as well. I did peek into them.

"Sorry about the flash but its very dark in here."

"Love me some bread and butter. I wish they were the same rolls as the Garden Grille, but these were warm and soft inside."

"Jon and I both ordered the steak and fries. The white stuff in the dish is spiced mayo for the fries. It was so good. I ate mine and Jon's. I don't think he even noticed."



"This dish also comes with seasoned green beans. They were nothing too spectacular. The steak was pretty good, tender and flavorful. Came out a good medium and nice and hot."

"Josh had the children's steak, and guess how much of it he ate?"




"None of it! Luckily our waitress Amber let him order fries with his steak, he did eat a few of them. He wanted me to remove his green beans because they were yucky! Crazy child."

"Kaiti had the salmon with leek fondue. She ate most of it and said it was good. She really liked the fondue and crushed potatoes."




"For dessert the kids had the chocolate cupcakes and I had the strawberry cupcake and it was dreamy and creamy. Jon had the raspberry cream puff with lemon cream inside. It looked delicious, I wish I had sneaked a taste."

"Josh received "The Grey Stuff" since it was his birthday...

"It tasted like homemade vanilla or buttercream cake frosting to me. I liked the crunchy pearls, though."



"This place is very lovely and I wanted to love it. However the lighting is very strange. The candelabras on the walls blink bright and dim over and over. I know it's supposed to simulate a candle flame but I felt really dizzy the whole meal. I asked if anyone else felt like they were eating on a rocking boat, nope only me."

Sadly PirateRachel sent us the final update of her trip last night.



She said, "Since we didn't eat very much today (ha ha), we decided to get a second dessert at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor.

All-American Sundae - old-fashioned vanilla and chocolate ice cream with hot fudge, peanut butter drizzle, whipped cream and a cherry


"Jon, Kaiti and I each got the All-American Sundae. These were so good! I loved the peanut butter sauce!"

"Since it was so scrumpdilliumpcious I took another pic."

"Josh got a vanilla Mickey cone. Seriously, vanilla!! Is this kid really mine??"




Then she sent one last picture from their resort...

"It was sad saying good bye to the Wilderness Lodge this morning. I just love this picture! We haven't stayed there for 10 years. I had forgotten how relaxing it was and so beautiful!"



And then some closing thoughts...


"We paid for the Disney Dining Plan this trip, we had it free in 2009 (when Josh was still two) for the Food & Wine Festival. The plan worked great for that trip, this time it seemed like we had way too many credits and ate way too much food! I never realized how little Josh ate or how extremely particular he is over food. He would say what he wanted and then not eat it. Naturally he never met a cupcake he didn't like, very frustrating! Talk about wasteful."



"But we had a great trip and tried a lot of different goodies! Some lines were so long that we skipped a few snack locations that I was interested in, like Karamell Kuche and Starring Rolls...there's always next time. Thanks Barb for letting me participate in your wonderful live dining review."

roxysmum said, "For dinner I went to Columbia Harbour House and got the fried shrimp basket. It's a large portion and also comes with a side of coleslaw. I'll probably repeat this for lunch sometime over the trip."

"I had intended on going out for dessert but it got too chilly for me so I explored MK a bit more then Downtown Disney and came back to the hotel. At 10 p.m. I wound up going to fill my refillable mug and brought back a cheese flatbread pizza and s'mores cupcake from Roaring Fork. Both were delicious, I love cupcakes so this was a real treat for me to try a flavour I'd never seen before. I feel like a hobbit eating a second meal but I didn't get breakfast today so that's how I'll justify it."

Let's begin today with Arielle71's update from their dinner Saturday night at...

"First we received their onion rolls and sourdough rolls with salted butter and roasted garlic. To accompany our appetizers, our server suggested a Cakebread chardonnay, which was delicious."

"To start, DH had the Caesar salad and I had the Heirloom Tomatoes and Cheese. They were both fresh and delicious."

"For the mains, DH had the Filet Mignon and mashed potatoes with the suggested Merlot and I had the New York Strip with a baked potato and the suggested Syrah. The meats were cooked perfectly but mine was bit tough even cooked rare."

"After that DH was brought a Mignardises for his birthday and we also shared the chocolate and peanut butter dessert, which was delicious!"




"We had a lovely evening and our server, Bev from OK, was great."
