We have now received updates from four other reporters, so I'm not sure I'll get to post them all this morning but I'll try to get at least a few more up before I have to get ready for work.


Our next update is from Ellen (podsnel) from their breakfast during their pre-cruise stay at VWL a couple of weeks ago.

Ellen said, "I went down to bring back breakfast to our studio while Timmy slept in.

Ellen said, "I had a bacon egg and cheese croissandwich - delish, but same as everywhere. Although I was very surprised I loved the potatoes! Maybe I have been on South Beach too long!"

"He ended up barely touching them, tho - just a little dip here and there. If Tyler had been with me, he would have had a hard time choosing between the 3 different kinds - but Tim likes them plain!"

"We had the fruit waffles, beignets, and berry cup {no pic}. The berries were fantastic!! Makes me want to go out of my way to get more."


"We didn't have lunch, then had dinner at the Biergarten. I didn't get any pictures there because it was so dark, but we all really enjoyed our food there. Even my youngsters."

"The frosting was just regular frosting and the center was a cream cheese filling. It was a good cupcake. Not fantastic ... but pretty good."

Next in this morning was PirateRachel's dinner update from...


Chef Mickey's



She said, "For dinner yesterday we went over to Chef Mickey's. It was a quick boat ride from the Wilderness Lodge.
We have dined here before and I'm not the best fan of this place. It's noisy and a bit disorganized."





First some pics of the buffet...

"Fancy salad fruit carving. This station was good and fresh."

"Kids Mac 'n cheese, Mickey shaped!"

"My salad along with olives and hummus and pita chips."

"Mickey shaped ravioli. Yuck! This was cold and it was only 5:15! I got another serving when they replaced the dish.
The cornbread though was yummy."

"Jon's salad plate with peel and eat shrimp. He liked the shrimp a lot."

"Josh's plate. I know you were dying to know what he ate. He managed to eat a few chicken nuggets with ketchup, yuck! I tried to get some mashed potatoes and broccoli in him, that would be a no go!

"My second plate consisted of roast beef and ham, mashed potatoes and scalloped potatoes. I loved me some potatoes! Everything was piping hot and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised!"

"The real reason we ate here, Miss Minnie Mouse! The character interaction was very rushed, but Goofy visited twice and was such a sweetie pie!"

Now for the desserts...

"Did someone say brownies?? So good."

"This was unlabeled but tasted like chocolate mousse. It was very good."

"Cheesecake and Mickey dome. Just average tasting, actually tasted like it had been out awhile."

"Kaiti's desserts - cheescake and something unlabeled. She liked them ok."

"Josh's birthday cupcake! Naturally he ate the whole thing and had the vanilla ice cream too."

"Odd ice cream color for vanilla."




"All in all we enjoyed the meal. Most food was hot and tasty. I think I'm done coming here though until I have grand kids!
I'll do another Chef Mickey's dinner report in 2023!!!"

This was from her dinner last night at...

"We had a really great experience there back in November."




First some menu pics...

"Roasted Chicken with yellow rice. My uncle said this was excellent."

"Grilled Chicken Breast with Fried Plantains and Black Beans and Rice. The chicken was a bit tough this time, but the black beans/rice was delicious!"

"Cassava bites (fried yuca). These were great as always. They remind us of the yuca fries we get at a local Cuban restaurant. So good."

"Not the best pic, but little brother had the skirt steak with fried green plantains and black beans/rice. He loved this meal and ate the entire thing. He didn't touch the fried plantains though. They were like cold rocks by the time he finished off the steak."



"Well, this is it for me. We decided to leave a day early because Disney is getting really bad weather today.
We are hoping to go back in August."

"We very much enjoyed our meal here and DD enjoyed the characters."

"This was really good and we liked it a lot. Lots of fresh veggies and hummus.
All of it added together provided a great flavor. I would get this again !!"

I have just a few updates to post this morning that were sent to us last night by Kacie (mommakacie).


She said, "My little kids did the albatross pirate cruise today and thought it was great. While they were on their tour, I went around and got some menu pics....."

"This is a "menu" pic at the Bayside Marina located outside the Yacht and Beach Club."

"The menu pic from Hurricane Hanna's located poolside at Stormalong Bay at the Yacht and Beach Club."





"These are the menus for Beaches and Cream. One is for the to go window and the others are for the sit down restaurant."

"These menus are for the Beach club Marketplace. Sorry, not the best pics. Then the sandwiches/pizza are from there, too. The open sandwich is the turkey sandwich, then the ham and swiss sandwich, and the pepperoni flatbread."

"We had lunch at the ever popular Yak & Yeti. The menu is included as well as the kids menu."

"I got a cherry limeade to drink (which was yummy), but doesn't come with refills - fyi. I had to take my youngest to the potty and when I came back everyone had already started on the food. So the only food pic I got was the kid's veggie lo mein. It came with rice and french fries. My daughter loved it!!!"

We have received our First Update of the Day from Kayleigh (KMarston).



She said, "We had lunch yesterday at...

"We definitely saved the best dining for the last day! This was our third Italian meal! The first was off property at Ciao on the day we arrived. I didn't get pictures of that one, but highly recommend it if you are looking for a wonderful meal in the I drive area!"

"Second was Via Napoli which we did enjoy as well. That was an ADR I changed to after reading reviews that made it seem not as worthy as Tutto. I'm very glad we were able to try both for ourselves!"

"We started with the bread service. Our attentive server Paoulo graciously replenished it twice!"

"Jimmy and I chose a bottle of Banfi Classico Chianti Reserva 2009. A bold Sangiovese red. We thoroughly enjoyed the bottle at a leisurely pace. We were encouraged to take our time during this meal which was a very nice change from the other establishments we visited."

"Christopher had the Fettuccine Vecchia Roma with pancetta and parmesan cream - $25.00."


"He loved this and the pasta was perfectly cooked!"

"Jimmy and I both chose the Lasagna alla Bolognese - traditional preparation with Emilia-Romagna beef sauce, bechamel and parmesan - $25."



"Best lasagna we've ever tasted."

"Carla surprised us by ordering the Bistecca Del Macellaio - grilled Butcher's steak, rosemary potatoes, cipolline onions agro dolce - $28."


"She made a happy plate!"

"Jimmy finished with the Torta di Nocciole "Cortemilla". Hazelnut polenta cake, nutella, and sweet cream cheese. Very nice! I don't think I've tasted anything quite like it before."

"I had the Mocha Tiramisu with a delicious cup of coffe! It was divine!"

"Carla and Chris both enjoyed the Torta di Ricotta for dessert."
