Official 2014 Dopey Challenge Thread!

I just called and they can confirm that the Goofy has 7,000 spots but would not confirm how many the Dopey or the Minnie had open...with 10,000 spots for the 5K can we say 5,000 for the Dopey?

Hi. This will be my first time to a Disney race where preordering a purse might be an option on active.com. I plan on registering for dopey ASAP. Will the purse (with pic) be available as soon as registration opens? Anyone see pics online yet?

Just called and they also confirmed that you can pay to register and then purchase other things like the pins (& purses) and pasta party as long as there is availability at a later date.

I think they are ADDING the Goofy/Dopey people to the count - how many was it last year?

I think last year there were 4 corrals during the 5k and I think there were about 2500 people per corral. I ran it, but I'm not positive.

Yes there was 4 corrals, A, B, C, D plus plus wheelchairs first and strollers last. I cannot remember how many people they said signed up.

Even if there were a little less than 2500 per corral that's basically the same this year then :confused3 Guess it will all sell out faster this year :cheer2:

TorontoGirl,

All of this has been very informative. Thank you for doing the leg work to keep us in the loop. Appreciate it.

Anyone heard about early registration opportunities for Disney Visa holders? I am getting antsy about getting in before Dopey closes.

Thanks,

Bob

And I'm out of the Dopey : ( Between dog expenses (yay for senior dog teeth cleaning!!) and lack of belief in me (my lack and others) I've decided I won't be doing the Dopey this year. Bummer! But I'm excited for all of you that will be doing it, and I look forward to hearing all about it!!

I am in for Dopey! Hoping they have a Disney Visa or Disney Annual Pass early registration! I have done the Inaugural ToT 10 miler, will be doing the inaugural D3 (which includes the Inaugural 10k). I hope to add Inaugural Dopey and Minnie 10k to that list!

I usually get an email about offers available to cardholders. Have not received one as of this morning.

I have visa and AP, no emails either. I don't think I can swing Dopey this time. Gonna try for the 10K and the 1/2. Good luck to all!

I've also made the difficult but responsible decision to NOT do the Dopey this time around. It's just too many days away from family and work. I'm definitely running the full and will probably add the 10k.

I just called runDisney and they said visa card holders are on the list for early registration along with DVC and AP. :cool1: She said the emails will be going out tomorrow and registration opens at noon. I know information can be unreliable at times, but I really hope that this is correct.

The new pacing requirements were not an April fools joke. I went and looked as if to register for the Runner's World Challenge. It is indeed a change in policy.

What are the new pacing requirements?

I should have said corral placement proof of time. I misspoke.

Proof of Time

If you believe you will finish the Half Marathon in less than 3 hours and 15 minutes and/or the Marathon in 6 hours and 30 minutes or less, proof of time is required for start corral placement.
Please reference the Race Pacing Chart at www.rundisney.com.
