These are NOT the rooms that I paid for! 3 Resorts in 10 days - Trivia Answers 9/3

Hi Brenda

What a lovely way to spend your first night :)

Isn't Jiko just wonderful? - we had a an incredible meal there a couple of trips back and really must go back sometime

Have a lovely weekend - oh and ad always you and Em both look very glamorous :)

Lx

Now I'm on board with being a Jiko fan! I kinda had to step up and try it to see what all the fuss was about! Definitely a favorite for us. :)

Your meal at Jiko looks great!!! I really enjoyed Em's review! :goodvibes We're planning to go there on our next trip, and you got me all excited for when I can make that ADR!

I agree, Disney really does go above and beyond to ensure that their guests are happy!

Sara it really was! I hope you enjoy it as well! :goodvibes

I have eaten at Jiko once and really enjoyed. Based on my experience there and yours and Em's review, I have decided to take Denny there for his B-day dinner next October. He has never been there. I am also hoping to switch part of my reservation over to AKL. I haven't stayed there since 2009 and its time!

Dinner at Jiko would be a great option for a birthday celebration. (And how awesome that Denny's b-day is during F&W time!)

:woohoo:

Let me know your dates if you want me to put you onto the Be Our Guest list! It is the two of you, three of you or something different???

Looks like just the two of us for now. I currently have dates booked in August but need to shift them a little so once I see what is available I will pop in. Thanks!

Brenda you're back. I was getting worried. :wave2:

Yes, I will definitely have to drop in to AKL if I can just stay away from that darn Yeti. :scratchin

What a wonderful daughter making that change for you. :goodvibes

And then O... M... G... King of Queens is one of my favourite shows EVER! I know it's not Disney, but Doug and Carrie , Doug and Carrie, Arthur Arthur Arthur Arthur. :lovestruc

Stupid work interfers with Dising sometimes! (I had half my staff out this week so it was a bit hectic!)

Ha, you and your Yeti - love it!

YES, I'm married to Doug but let me be very clear - I am NOT Carrie. Arthur is a hoot. Michael has been know to have a pre-dinner Whopper and other Doug antics. So funny....

I can't wait to try Jiko! After seeing your pictures, I'm even more excited about it for our next trip!

Hi Dave. Heck I'm not wanting to go back to WDW right now, I want to go to DC and see the sights that you photographed in your staycation.

PSA: Anyone who has not see this guys photographic talent must run, not walk, to his TR located here!!! So awesome!

Jiko looks amazing! I agree that 1 night is not enough at AKL! We will be going there for a week in January as our family trip. I bet getting used to Eastern time is a little tricky (and then West Coast time again!)

Hi Sarah! Wow!! An entire week at AKL - how incredible!! I'm aiming for 3 nites next time before we move on.

Ha, I actually adjust to the time change pretty easily - not so much for Em.

For some fun girl time yesterday, Em and I went to Disneyland for a couple hours. It was pretty crowded with many wait times of 60 minutes or greater so we skipped most rides and focused on eating and enjoying the day.

Em was trying to teach me how to use the manual settings on my Nikon D3100. Too many things to remember and I still don't know why I have to turn a knob to allow more light in and why I care how fast the shutter moves. I ended up being too impatient to learn so the camera went back to auto settings pretty quickly. I'm a very poor student! :sad2:

Off to celebrate Easter at church!

Hi Brenda! First of all, I'd like to wish a blessed Easter to you and your family. I've fallen behind on my reading so just got caught up on your trip report.

What a lovely gesture by the flight attendant! Aside from the pixie dust in having comped food and better seats, it's the gesture and the meaning behind it that means so much. What a really nice thing to do. :goodvibes

Loved the bonus pics of you and Joh in Vegas! Looks like you had a good time. :thumbsup2

It's great that the bus driver decided to deliver you to the AKL when you were directed to the wrong bus. I'd have definitely had a panic-y moment if that had happened to me. Good for you for taking taking the bull by the horns and get a resolution before he pulled away!

The AKL is a gorgeous resort. We've never had the pleasure of staying there as we can't seem to tear ourselves away from our beloved French Quarter, but I've always ooh'ed and aww'ed over it every time we visit. I loved your pictures of the room, there's no one like Disney for attention to detail and giving guests a completely immersive experience. I enjoyed reading about your experience at Jiko, and Em's dining report and photos had my mouth watering. I can't wait to try it myself this fall!

Disneyland looks like great fun and your food pics are drool-worthy. We've never been to California so never had the pleasure of visiting DL ... maybe one day! It looks like it was seriously crowded! I just read a report on the Easter crowds at MK this past week and the pictures show that it was just insane crowd-wise. Makes me further appreciate the joys of travelling during the off-season. ::yes::

Looking forward to more!

Glad you ladies had such a nice dinner at Jiko-- you both looked beautiful! Great service on top of great food is really what makes a meal out.

Love the Disneyland pictures! That carne asada looks really good. And I love the packaging on the new cosmetics line!

Brenda, thank you so much for the kind words! And the PSA! :thumbsup2

Can I tell you how jealous I am that you can just pop over to Disneyland? It's probably a good thing that I don't live near WDW or DLR because I'm pretty sure I would be heading over there every weekend and get nothing else done! :rotfl:

Hope you and your family have a Happy Easter!

Yay for Disneyland photos !! - I'm getting very excited about my forthcoming visit

Just got to get through some pesky work and then it's fun, fun, fun

I've been a lurker on your past TR and ive decided to join in :).

3 resorts sound like so much fun. My sister and i went to WDW for he first 2 weeks of march and are thinking of going next year in feb so looking forward to hearing about the crowds.

loving the pictures of disneyworld i've been to disneyland paris a couple of times but the one in california looks better. :cheer2:

Jiko looks AMAZING... Emmy did such a great job with her dining review!

AKL is a major dream resort for me, so I can totally see wanting more than one night! Can't wait to hear about day 2!

Jiko sounds like a perfect way to end your arrival day and then relax watching TV. I really need to get Jiko on the list one of these days.

:banana: for Disneyland pictures. I'm not sure we'll ever get to DL, so I really enjoy seeing pictures of it.

Hope you had a great Easter.

AKL is beautiful! I can't wait to see it in person one day!

Your food looks amazing (Yes, I saw it on Emmy's page, but it's still so yummy looking!!)! I bet you were really struggling to sleep knowing your bags were still packed! haha!!!! :rotfl:

I love King of Queens too! :goodvibes

Jiko looks wonderful!! I just need to move to WDW so I can eat and stay everywhere!! If I ever get really rich, I'm buying one those houses on property :cool1: lol!

What a nice evening you got to spend at AKL and a nice treat from Emmy for the breakfast switch, oh and I love her shirt from your dinner!! :goodvibes

Great Disneyland photos! I look forward to getting out your way someday! I have a friend in San Diego and my DF loves golfing there so we may have to make a little California exploration vacation ;)

I hope you and your family had a very Happy Easter :flower3:

Thank you Brenda for the Disneyland pics. I was so bummed that the Matterhorn was under refurb when I was there last year. Seeing that photo reminded me of that. But it's all good. I still love D-Land anyway.
And yeah, a little jealous that you can just pop in for a couple hours, lol. ;)

It's a little late, but I hope you all had a wonderful Easter holiday together. :goodvibes

Love all the Disneyland pics! Emily's lunch looked delicious! I may have just drooled on the keyboard a little bit.

I was cracking up when you wrote in your Jiko update that you think you married Doug from King of Queens because I say that about my hubby all the time! I can never resist the re-runs of that show when they come on at night.

Hope you and your family had a very happy Easter! :goodvibes

Nice for the upgrade on the plane.
That stinks about the wrong bus but good he still took you.
AKL Jambo is so beautiful. Love it there.
Wow Jiko is empty.
I agree about The Wave.
Fun times at Disneyland. I need to get back there soon.

Great first few updates. Your room seemed really bright and when we stayed in Kidani in a 2 bed with family, I found it really dark!:confused3 Maybe we just didn't turn on enough lights!!

Can't wait for another update, will head over to Emmy's report in the meantime!

Thanks for the Disneyland pics really great!

For sure I need to try jiko, I love hearing about people's favourite meals. AK is beautiful and definitely worth a couple more nights, that would have been hard for me to not to unpack :)

Hi Carol! I've missed seeing you around and I'm so glad that you are here. You are so sweet, Easter was wonderful with the kids that are here.

I believe you will be back at WDW for two weeks in the fall - so yes, please go to Jiko and let us know what you think. It really was a lovely experience.

As for the crowded D-land, silly me, I completely forgot it was Spring Break until we were inside the park. Doh!

Take care and have a great day! :goodvibes

Hi Kylie! Thank you for the kind comment....yeah, we always look our best after traveling 7+ hours!! :lmao:

I don't know if this was a first but I hadn't seen any Disney themed cosmetics before and I loved the packaging as well.

Brenda, thank you so much for the kind words! And the PSA! :thumbsup2

Linda my little Brit friend!!! I can't wait to see you next week. I wish you safe travels and then let the fun begin!

Hi deedee! Thank you for reading and welcome to the Disboards!! I'm glad your are here. :)

We went to WDW last Feb. during President's Week and it was crazy busy so we moved our dates back a week this year and it was better.

How awesome that you have been to Disney Paris. It must be interesting to see an Ariel with a French accent!! :rotfl:

Jiko looks AMAZING... Emmy did such a great job with her dining review!

AKL is a major dream resort for me, so I can totally see wanting more than one night! Can't wait to hear about day 2!

Hi Miss Marissa! Thank you on behalf of Em. Yes, I need to stay longer next time and see more of AKL. Day coming up....
