I can't speak for everyone else but because I usually have very specific requests I don't do online check in. When we stayed at CR CL I had our reservation noted but still did not receive our request, but the CM folks care of it right away. I don't know that online check in would have made any difference.

Oh and at YC (not CL) we did not do online check in and were upgraded to water view from the extremely nice CM who seemed to want to go out if the way to meet our requests.

I have just found that with the deluxes, I like regular check in better.

Thanks Melissa, I don't think I am going to bother with it. :goodvibes

Just wanted to pop in and say hello and Happy Easter to everyone. We have been home less than an hour and we are all so tired.

While the DSs are taking showers, I'm downloading the pics from our trip. I didn't take any pics of the German food b/c it was not a good experience. Tomorrow, I'll let ya know how the trip went.

Hope everyone had a nice Easter. We did. What's not to love about chocolate bunnies and family. :grouphug:

jennyjinx: No need to online check-in for CL. They will meet you at the front door. :) I never do online check-in for non-CL rooms either. I like the pageantry of it all.

pas130:
Great idea for hamburger/hot dog picnic today. :thumbsup2 Happy trip!!!!!

WDWKOOK: Did you get some tasty ADRs made. Food porn, please... :hyper:

babyberger: Nice CR/BLT photos. I hope they sway koh... :rolleyes1 Oooops, I mean I hope koh likes them. ::yes::

wookie: Sounds like a spooky schnitzel story in there somewhere... :scratchin

Nice one, Magic... Hehehe. :-) I am going to get final pricing for a couple of options and see if DH has an opinion one way or the other...

Hi my RC ladies....hope those of you celebrating had a lovely Easter. I asked this over on the BC thread, but I am sure you guys can help me out with some advice too. I am going to copy what I asked over there...

"Hello everyone...hope you all had a lovely Easter Sunday! I have a question for everyone. Just today on the old WDW site (which is the only one we can get ) It finally popped up that I could do online check in. I started going through the motions to do it, but then it kicked me back out of it. I was going to try again tonight, but my question is this.

Does it really matter if I don't do the online check in? We are staying CL, so I wasn't sure if it was really necessary. Is the check in at CL part of the experience? But I do wonder about making the requests with the online check in. Will we get the daybed with us being five? If a full balcony is important should I do the online check in and request that?

Any advice is appreciated."

Thanks all!!

Jen

Happy Easter to you too! I'd send IPO an e mail asking them. And let them know your room requests. Last August we stayed CL at AKL and I didn't do on line check in, but had my room requests on my reservation, and let IPO know too.
But now it seems things are changing with the new 60? Day online check in, and other options they plan on rolling out, magic bands, FP+ which all seem connected to the earlier check in

Being in Canada I have the old site too  and also have the My Disney Experience app on my iPad. Maybe there is an option to do the on line check in using that? Don't know, I'm still 140 days out. Too early for me. You might go on the Canadian Thread to see if anyone there has had recent experience with on line check in and the old site.

For all those who celebrated Easter, who it was a happy one!

Pas, like your down home easter meal! And easy clean up too! :thumbsup2 Sorry you had 2 terrible nights at work (scary situation in ER as well!) ...and then your paper! Just keep thinking, Universal and sunny Florida in 2 days my friend! :goodvibes

Kook, all your ADRs all in order? :) As Magic said, we need the food porn details, please! :goodvibes

Melissa, happy that Stephen is doing much better! Will have to check out your new website. :goodvibes

Wookie, welcome back! Hope the trip was great! Can't wait to see your pix!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sam and I had a fabulous time at the Taylor Swift concert!! It was wonderful to meet up with my friend and her kids. Taylor puts on a great show, very themed and theatrical, and Ed Sheeran was great too! We had floor seats so Sam when Taylor switched to the back stage to perform a few songs she was able to get closer to the stage and that's when Ed Sheeran returned to sing the duet he wrote for Taylor. Sam was in heaven!!

Before the concert, we were to Carlos Bakery, home of the cake boss. It was mobbed... fortunately we pre-ordered, so it was easy. Otherwise the wait had to be about 1 1/2.

Hi to Everyone else! Have to get moving for work! Be back on line later!!

Good morning my enablers....I mean friends!;). My Mom said yesterday that yes they would watch the girls for us that last weekend of August, and gave me a little pep talk about doing things now. How you never know what life holds, we are young now, don't feel bad about the girls as we do a lot with them. :scratchin

So I have been poking around online and can get a good rate for flying down on Aug 29....not so great for returning, but I do have a credit with AirTran. Thinking I would book Room only at Pop and maybe apply AP discount if it comes out. DH is acting clueless, asking me where we would go....:rolleyes2 really?

Anyhow....I feel an impulsive move coming on. I may just pull the trigger on this. I know this is what I do....I could talk about this kind of trip forever but never do it. This time I might actually take action! ::yes:: Phew....just had to get it all out. Once again I am making my own head spin.

Lulu's mom....arrive safely and have a wonderful trip!!

Hi Janet, Koh, SueM, magic, Wookie, and Melissa.....I 'll be back later!:wave2:

Hi, my name is lmhall2000 (actually my moniker) and I am a confirmed RC. I need help!!

We have not been to the world in 8 years!! All kids are well over any height restrictions so we all decided it was time to visit and get those rides completed! Plus, Disney cruise line has offered much better deals for our family of five than we could grab from Disneyworld so hoping Free Dining option for September will change that...or will I not only be a RC, I'll be a SC (ship changer! :))

Started out booking Contemporary, but alas, the cheapest room for $404 a night is not available..the $440 a night was freaking me out, so considered POR but our child who would be sleeping on the extra bed is over 6'3 so not an option..someone mentioned a blow up mattress, but honestly, paying that much a night..I am not messing with a blow up! So, then switched to the Fort Wilderness Cabin...now thinking I really need to rent a golf cart, I figure I need to reconsider the Deluxe option again...BC, YC, BWI??? All have rooms with daybed that will fit us well.....

We have stayed at Poly twice, Contemporary once, Animal Kingdom (when we could fit our youngest in a pack n play) once and Old Key West once...would prefer to try something new..

Any RC suggestions out there?? If this was our last trip to DW, which resort would you suggest??

Good Monday Morning everyone! I hope everyone had a nice weekend and Happy Easter to those that celebrated. We had a quiet weekend which was nice. I cleaned for the better part of yesterday, I HATE to clean, but for some reason my house does not clean itself :confused3 My kiddos have one more day of spring break then finally back to school tomorrow.

Jen - I re-read my reply to you last night, WOW lots of auto correct words, LOL! I definitely did not mean CL folks :rotfl2: As a wonderful enabler, I think you should pull the trigger and book for you and DH ::yes:: Especially if your mom is willing to watch the girls!!!

LuLu's Mom - have a wonderful trip!!!

Janet - sounds like you and Sam had a great time!!!! :goodvibes

SueM - oh yeah, I forgot that I did send a quick email to the CR IPO noting our room requests as well.

Koh1977 - CR, CR, CR, CR :rotfl:

MAGIC - I could go for a chocolate bunny right about now ;)

Wookie - cant wait to hear about your trip :hyper:

Jeanette - I am so happy to hear you finally got some sleep, I am sure you need a lot more to even come close to catching up, but 9 hours is a good start! Sorry you had such a rough couple of nights in the ER  I hope everyone enjoyed the Easter picnic yesterday!

Welcome!!!! It sounds like you definitely fit right in ::yes::

If you are looking for something new and a room for 5, I would say BC or YC for sure!!! You can request a room with a day bed and the rooms are decent size. We loved staying at YC and being able to walk to Epcot and take a quick boat ride to DHS. Stormalong Bay is also amazing and a must do at least once!

We love CR for the convenience of everything being under one roof, but LOVE the atmosphere at YC :lovestruc

:welcome: to the RC Thread

I think one of the Epcot resorts would be the better option given your family size. You don't say when you are going but the Epcot resorts tend to be discounted 30% during the Disney Promos so they can be a really good deal. I am partial to BWI myself

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Janet Taylor Swift Sounds like fun! I took my youngest to his first concert Huey Lewis lol boy am I Old :rotfl2:

Hi MAGIC  and everyone I missed

JanetB: Woohoo glad you guys had fun at the Taylor concert. :cutie: :cutie: I'll bet Sam was over the moon. Can you believe I've never watched Cake Boss, I've never heard Taylor sing, and I am totally clueless of who the Ed dude at the concert is????? Youth marches on!!! Ok, going back under my rock (well, my sofa) now...

Imhall: We like YC for the balconies, but I'd say pick BC with kids just because the shop with quick serve is closer at BC. Definitely pick a Epcot Resort. :thumbsup2 Now if you say it was your laaaaaast, trip... I'd say Boardwalk Inn. ::yes::

Lulu'sMom: You're going to Disney World!!!! Have fun!!!!

sjs314: Well, ya know... It's Hip to be Square!!!!! :rotfl2: That was a little Huey humor there.

pas130: Packed? Pas-mobile ready? :moped:

Babyberger - hahaha re: CR. Any opinions on Garden Wing vs Tower? Garden View room is slightly cheaper than the Poly, a deluxe garden view is about the same price, and the BLV room in the main tower is slightly more...

lmhall2000 - welcome!! I loved the Poly and am thinking about trying the CR this time around, but if you're looking for something new, I did really like the feel of BC (which we stayed at last year). And if your kids are older, being close to Hollywood Studios might be nice. I don't know that it's much more convenient to get to Epcot from BC, YC, and BWI than the monorail resorts (poly was nice being close to the TTC), but if you go during Food and Wine, it would be great since you're right there at the World Showcase. Like I said, I LOVED the feel of the resort and the view of the lake when you come out the back of the place, but I thought the Poly was so much more convenient to get around. Your kids would probably love SAB though at BC/YC!! :-) I wish we would've had more time to play at the resort last year for sure!

*waving to everyone else* Hope you had a great Easter if that's your thing. Otherwise, hope you had a great weekend regardless! :-) Today's my last day off from work. Then back to the grind tomorrow. BUT discounts released to the GP tomorrow!! Woohoo! I don't have to second guess my Disney math anymore! And that should mean I can get some ADRs set by the end of this week! (We have yet to officially book anything and put a deposit down so I hadn't done any ADRs yet, but I told DH we need to get moving on it!

Also still trying to figure out the whole not telling my parents thing...DH doesn't want them to invite themselves along, which I understand, but I don't think they'd go in August anyway even if they'll be retired at that point. FL summers are too hot for them. But DH thinks we shouldn't tell them at all until we're there pretty much. Tell them he surprised us with the trip and we had no clue. But we're driving, and I would know where we were going. I hate lying to them. Besides that, is it that awful even if they do decide to go? They wouldn't need to be with us the entire time...one meal or so wouldn't be the end of the world would it? Aarghh...idk...

Hi Ladies! Hope all of you who celebrate had a very Happy Easter! Ours was nice, but Martina got strep throat, so it was different. It was nice just being our family of 4 for a change though! She is feeling better today, and has a sprong in her step again!

We booked a trip to Disneyland!!! We are crazy, and will be there over 4th of July weekend, but that was the time that worked for us, as my parents will be taking the kids for a couple of weeks, so we will be meeting them with the kids in LAX on July 4. Normally, I'd never go over a holiday, but since it will just be Brian and I, so we can go at a slower pace and be fine. I'm hoping some RCing will occour...it has been my dream to stay at the Disneyland Hotel, but it was over double the offsite places. As of now, we are at Anabella Hotel....If there is an opening on points at Grand Californian or a discount at Disneyland Hotel, we would switch, but being the Holiday weekend, we wanted to get something booked so we aren't sleeping in cardboard boxes somewhere.:lmao: I am so excited to see Disneyland...I was there once for a day back in 2003, but I hadn't been "bitten by the bug" yet, and was pregnant with Martina at that point. I'm excited to go back now that I understand the history and won't be so exhausted (and can ride more). Now to come up with a game plan. Our last few WDW trips have been pretty "go with the flow", but I want to try and focus on the things that aren't at WDW or are a lot different in Disneyland this time.

Good morning, ladies! :goodvibes

When the time get closer and we know who will be there, what dates and where everyone is staying I think it would be great to see how many of the RC family can meet up!!!

:hyper: Would LOVE this!

... I really hope we are renewing our passes, you KNOW I want to spend an intoxicating night with you :drinking1

This is a must-do. :worship:

I had 2 horrible nights at work, I managed to get in an argument with an ER nurse at my transportjob...AND had my life threatened by a patient in the ER...good times...but today is a new day!

...

Since I am working tonight...we are having a hamburger/hotdog Easter picnic!! DH is working today. it's a fun idea he had!!

:faint:  Nurses are so under-appreciated. I'm sorry you have to deal with that junk. (When I was in the ER, I made sure to use my manners -- well, as always -- and joke as much as I normally do since I'm sure you guys appreciate an "easy patient" now and again.)

How was the cookout? I love that idea. :goodvibes

Also adding these: :banana::banana:

And for our Lulu'sMom and Mousemommy, too. :woohoo: :worship:

Just wanted to pop in and say hello and Happy Easter to everyone. We have been home less than an hour and we are all so tired.

While the DSs are taking showers, I'm downloading the pics from our trip. I didn't take any pics of the German food b/c it was not a good experience. Tomorrow, I'll let ya know how the trip went.

Welcome home! Yikes about the German place. :(

Sam and I had a fabulous time at the Taylor Swift concert!! It was wonderful to meet up with my friend and her kids. Taylor puts on a great show, very themed and theatrical, and Ed Sheeran was great too! Yay, glad you guys had a fabulous time! Please, do tell, what delicacies did you get from the bakery?! :hyper:

Oooooooooooooooooh! I love the sound of this impulse coming on! :woohoo:  popcorn::

Hi, my name is lmhall2000 (actually my moniker) and I am a confirmed RC. I need help!!

Hello and welcome. :goodvibes I'm putting in my vote for an Epcot resort -- for ease of walking to two parks and the Boardwalk activities/wealth of dining options there. My personal preference would be either YC or BC, though only because I've not stayed at BWI; we do love Stormalong Bay. A lot. A lot lot.

JanetB: Woohoo glad you guys had fun at the Taylor concert. I'll bet Sam was over the moon. Can you believe I've never watched Cake Boss, I've never heard Taylor sing, and I am totally clueless of who the Ed dude at the concert is????? Youth marches on!!! Ok, going back under my rock (well, my sofa) now...

:rotfl: I'm right there with ya, Magic. :rotfl2: I only vaguely know of Taylor Swift from reading about the Kayne West interruption incident. I had seen a couple of snippets of Cake Boss cake assemblies though. I am out-of-touch with lots of popular culture stuff. Got room under that rock?

Koh: I've done Poly twice (once Garden View and once GV-CL) and Contemporary in the tower many, many moons ago. Our current booking for October is for the Garden Wing. I'd say, if the price isn't of much concern, go with whatever resort-feel appeals to you more? The big draw for us to book the Garden Wing is the walking to MK. It was the big draw for us to switch our "favorite" over to the Epcot resorts (well, along with Stormalong Bay).

:grouphug: Okay, back later to chit-chat... off to Target for me. :faint:

Janet - sounds like you and Sam had a great time!!!! :goodvibes

Melissa, we did have an amazing time!! :cool1:

Janet Taylor Swift Sounds like fun! I took my youngest to his first concert Huey Lewis lol boy am I Old :rotfl2:

It was!! and no Sheila we are not old.... we are classic!! :rotfl2:

JanetB: Woohoo glad you guys had fun at the Taylor concert. :cutie: :cutie: I'll bet Sam was over the moon. Can you believe I've never watched Cake Boss, I've never heard Taylor sing, and I am totally clueless of who the Ed dude at the concert is????? Youth marches on!!! Ok, going back under my rock (well, my sofa) now...

:rotfl2: Magic, you always get me laughing!! Until a few months ago I had not heard of Ed Sheeran either... having a teenager helps keep one in touch ...:goodvibes His music is soulful, very intense, and I have really grown to like his music....His big hit A Team was nominated for song of the year at the Grammys (deservingly so). We have followed Taylor for a few years, she has a great songs herself and I bet you have heard her music without realizing you were listening to her.... her big 2 songs from her new RED Tour are "Never Get Back Together" and "Trouble". Sam wants to see her again, maybe in Chicago with her friend....

And I didn't know that Carlos bakery was home to the Cake Boss!! Never seen the show but heard of it.

[
sjs314: Well, ya know... It's Hip to be Square!!!!! :rotfl2: That was a little Huey humor there.

:rotfl2: Love it!! And I've got "the power of love" going thru my mind!!

We booked a trip to Disneyland!!! We are crazy, and will be there over 4th of July weekend, but that was the time that worked for us, as my parents will be taking the kids for a couple of weeks, so we will be meeting them with the kids in LAX on July 4.

:woohoo::woohoo: It will be a blast!!:cool1: Crazy can be really great!!:
