Not open for further replies.
HEY RCers! DH and I were driving past WDW last Saturday on our way back from the East coast when we decided to stop by DtD and trade our paper APs for our shiny new Plastic APs. DH picked Mickey and I am Donald. We then boated over to POR to spend an hour with Piano Bob :goodvibes and boated back to DtD for a late snack of Holiday sandwich at Earl (I am so glad they made it a year round indulgence) before heading on home. :lovestruc

And while I have a moment... HAPPY GOOD FRIDAY to some and HAPPY EASTER to all.

_______________________________

sjs314: So happy you booked. Miss Poly will treat you and Bob very well. ;)

WDWKOOK: Atrium rocks! CR rocks! Glad you planned. I usually rely on the same AllEars and TA, too, so I am quite curious myself how our KKC experience will be. And I hope the rooms new designs "feel" better in person. I will look at it from a more critical eye, but I know Mom will be rockin' either way. :cutie: She's been on a good upswing with her depression lately, so DH already has her going on BTM Railroad... verbally anyway. :lmao:

pas130: Dancing for you all around... losing 20 lbs, being a good school girl and vacation!!!! :cool1:

disneydreamin247: Audit go ok? Maybe a transfer is in your future. In the meantime, think Hawaii Building. ::yes:: oh BTW, remind me how the Target 5% dealio works again, please. :hyper:

janetB: The double shirt ditch caper was great!!!!! :rotfl: And you only think your EVADE was clever. :duck: It was BLATANT from where I chill!!! :rotfl2: So I will keep early Nov time open to pop over and visit and DISmeet. Let me know where you book. My AP is ready and waiting for adventures. Hey, idea time... maybe I will book a BB in April for then.

chimo2u: So glad you are getting this family time with both parents and you kids. Ahhh, so fleeting is our time together. :goodvibes

Mousemommy: Dis your raise come thru, I may have missed it. Congrats! Your shirts for the family are really neat-o. Love 'em. :thumbsup2

jennyjinx: Love your girls' Easter pic. Wish you were on bunny's lap, too. And re: your dad. He sounds depressed. Best wishes for your parents. :)

Wookie: Enjoy SAN AN!!!!!! About the phone # change with WDW: My old home phone number still shows up online only after over 3 years and NUMEROUS Disney CMs and IT folks telling me they found the "reason" and have fixed it. But verbally with CMs, they see only my correct phone number. I've quit trying at this point. :worried:

GrumpyGrandma:
AKV yay for you! I do love the pool are. Do you usually stay poolside?

Gwynne: Travel planning stress is the BEST kind! :thumbsup2

Babyberger: Glad you are back with a lighter workload. I am coming off a BIG workload for a few days lull here myself. Maybe a FL res DISmeet is in order some day. :cool2:

koh1977: So Poly won out???? Yay for you.

Miss: Is "face plant" an acceptable term here? ;) I've wanted to use it in a sentence before it fades into oblivion with the rest of the oh-so not-so-clever annoying lingo of life nawadays. :faint: Seriously, I hope you are feeling MUCH better now. As for RCing, I am glad you kept with CR GW. I think you will be pleased. :goodvibes

peteykirch: Welcome!!! :dance3: WL & Poly are big faves with me. Heck, who am I kidding...they all are. :woohoo:

Hi to all the RCers I've missed, Luv, Lulu's Mom, basketlacey, DetTigsGal, PigletsMommy, and SueM :wizard:

Going to catch up before the afternoon/evening gets hectic.

MAGIC - I am jealous, I want to make a trip just to trade in my paper AP's too! I don't think it is going to happen before they expire in Sept though :( I am gong to PM you in a bit ::yes::

Jen - Oh no, poor DD :worried: I hope her little bum heals quickly and she can enjoy some of that easter chocolate. Sorry you are having such a hard time with your parents, I know it can be beyond frustrating sometimes. But you are doing all you can do by voicing your concerns for both of them. Oh and you are right, I think there are A LOT worse things you could be addicted to than vacation planning...she is out of her mind to think that is a bad thing!!! I got your back on this one ::yes::

Wookie - so glad the day is flying by and you got your luggage!!! Have a great time this weekend :dance3:

Jeanette - um, your trip is coming up soon, is this going to be one of those that you are changing on your way to the resort :confused3 Sorry the ER is getting toxic, I wish people would just be human and respect each other, why is it so hard???

Ginny - glad you took a little break yesterday to enjoy your beer :thumbsup2 Hopefully all the travel planning is falling into place.

Linda - I was so happy to finally be done with tax stuff this week and send it off to the accountant, although it just means I am closer to knowing just how much I owe :faint:

Miss - I hope you can start that AP talk again soon!! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Dani - I am sorry work is so bad right now  I will pray for you that the transfers include the, well, insert not nice words here :rolleyes1 Bad management ruins a whole company!

Candace - love the pixie dusted shirts :cutie:

Janet - yes, I am slowly starting to put me back into the priority list :goodvibes Once the kids go back to school next week, I am going to try heading back to the gym and see how that goes, also adding more "me time" into my days

Koh1977 - I also agree with the 2 autograph books, I think it is the best way to go.

HELLO to everyone else :wave2: Hope everyone is having a great day!

:grouphug:

Hello lovely women of RC-land. :goodvibes

Missout--Oh dear, you took quite a spill. Glad you are healing. This winter has to go. Sending you some beach weather! :beach: Hope you get good news on furlough.

 Ooooh, beach weather would be lovely. Did you get all the ADRs you wanted?

No worries, neither do I April 3-5th...right now Royal Pacific CL at US/IoA (yesterday was HRH..day before PBH)

You really need a vacation flowchart in your signature. :rotfl:  For everyone's sanity, including yours.

Well, nothing too new to report over here. Was visiting with my parents this morning and my Mom made a comment that I am too "addicted" to vacation planning. What.... Of course I am but she didn't have to point it out like it was a bad thing!! Whatever, there are worse things to be addicted to.

They really don't travel anywhere, due to my father not wanting too, and my mother's bowel problems. Her problems are actually getting worse, and almost everytime she goes out there is a small accident. I really feel for her, and have been trying to talk her into Depends, at least it would help her a little bit if she can't make it to the washroom. And my dad well, I am worried there too. Apparently he has been losing copious amounts of money at the casino, and they are on a very fixed income. Not good. All my life he was so frugal and sooo good with money.

I did finally tell him I am concerned about it, and maybe he should go talk to someone about it. I really hope he does. My mom is a wreck over it.
Sorry rant over. Thanks for listening.

Waving hi and thinking of everyone.

Jen

You are preaching to the choir here! There are SO many much-worse things to be addicted to.

Oh Jen. If it's not the kiddos keeping us on our toes, it's our parents. :faint: To commiserate with you, my mother just up and bought a Kindle Fire (which she can't use because they don't have a wifi internet connection in their house), some make-up off of a spam email she received and an e-cigarette which she won't use. I hope your dad can get himself sorted out... or at least talk to someone who can help. ::yes::

Miss: Is "face plant" an acceptable term here? ;) I've wanted to use it in a sentence before it fades into oblivion with the rest of the oh-so not-so-clever annoying lingo of life nawadays. :faint: Seriously, I hope you are feeling MUCH better now. As for RCing, I am glad you kept with CR GW. I think you will be pleased.

Oh, you temptress you! :thumbsup2 EoS is offering the Holiday Sandwich all year now? GG mentioned it before and I never got to try it during our January trip. Now I've got no excuse.

Holding strong with CR-GW, you and Melissa have swayed me to keep it. (I swear, that SAB-love is so strong though. )

Yep, faceplant, sidewalk-eating or pavement-fight -- they all work. :rotfl2:

Miss - I hope you can start that AP talk again soon!! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!

What gourmet baked goodies have you been creating lately?

You know, I still have yet to use that info you sent. Is it still the same? My curiosity is super-piqued at the moment. Hubbo and I chit-chatted this morning about buying tickets from UT and upgrading at the gate with the price-bridge vs. buying the AP voucher direct from Disney. I don't see there being a big difference other than the dough you save from UT -- unless, of course, Disney decides to stop price-bridging. I gotta strike while the iron's hot... he actually said, "What exactly are you waiting for?" I don't know really. :rolleyes2

Do you get your TiW there at the gate?

Wookie: Yay for your luggage... and no more laundry. We anxiously await food porn. ::yes::

Linda: Have you survived tax-doing? :scared1:

I_Heart: Thinking of you...

I know I've missed a lot so I'll just hand these out...:hug:

All of you November ladies, you need to make sure you include the end of October in your planning. :rolleyes1 Like say, from the 27th - 30th. :thumbsup2

Hmm...so...just wondering...are there any pros to staying at the CR (GW) vs the Poly? It's a tad bit cheaper to get a garden view room there than it is at the Poly so I'm just weighing my options since DH already approved the Poly stay. :-) I'm definitely spoiled by the deluxes...

Yes, info is all the same ::yes:: Keep in mind that WDW usually raises ticket prices in June and it is usually without a lot of notice, last year we got wind of the increase and had less than 12 hours to react, and since they were getting rid of children's pricing on the FL AP's, it was a big one!

As for baked goods, did you see my cinnamon roll on FB? It may have only posted over to my Cooking and Chaos page, but I was VERY proud of it

I haven't stayed at Poly so I can't really give you an unbiased opinion. But....I can say we have absolutely loved our past 2 stays at CR. We even walked through Poly in December to give the kiddos a change to change their minds for Feb, and they did like the way it looked, but still wanted CR again. I think the walk to MK is awesome, especially during busy times. I don't know that CR is better than Poly, but it's different.

Krystal I know what you mean for my dates CR GW was only $200 less than the Poly I started to sway but I really want to stay in the Tower or BLT with TPV, Bob likes BLV maybe next trip :confused3

For the slight $ difference I think Poly is better myself

They are really just different experiences. Size-wise CR is nice and compact and it is nice after a long day at the parks to not have to waste needless steps with everything like shops, snacks etc so close-by. Poly has the nice tropical landscaping everywhere so even a little walk to the GCH isn't really so bad, except in the rain. :rotfl: As for upgrade possibility, CR GW ressies seem to get upgraded to the tower rooms sometimes (twice for me), so there's always that nice possibility for you if you choose CR. It may depend on where "home" is as to preference sometimes, too. Since we already get lots of "tropical" at home here in FL, the Poly theme isn't as big a draw for us as for most folks, although even we can't help but feel soooooo "on vacation" at the Poly. Some folks being big pool people don't like the CR pool as it is very open and they find it to be boring and not as themed as Poly's Volcano pool. Poly restaurants are tops for us for everyday dining, though, other than Cali Grill. As babyberger said, the walk to CR is a must especially at busy times of the year. We just had a great CR stay, but I also can't wait to stay at a new Poly room in a couple weeks. :lovestruc And Miss... I agree 100% about gettin' me some Epcot resort love soon, too! :lovestruc I love 'em all!!!! Happy planning all!

I originally wanted to go right after Thanksgiving, but DH didn't really want to take DS out of school again this next year. AND it'd be more likely my parents would invite themselves along if it weren't in the middle of the summer which my DH is really opposed to, SO...August again it is. We've celebrated every anniversary (give or take a few days) since DS was born at WDW except for the year DD was born. (And last year we went a month later, but still...)

Anyway, I would like to try CR sometime, just not sure...anyone know the approximate time for the walk to MK from the Garden Wing? BLT is a lot closer, right?

Whoa, where'd we vanish to?! :faint:

Haven't had the chance to drool over the cinnamon roll... I'm headed over to your blog after I type this out.

Hi Peeps!

Sam and I are waiting in line to get into the prudential center for the Taylor Swift concert with Ed Sheeran! Yay! We visited Carlos Bakery, home of the Cake Boss. Good thing we preordered our baked goods - the line was so long!!. We met my friend and her 2 daughters and their 2 friends. the girls are all getting along well. Wish I could figure how to upload a pix ... Maybe Kook could give me step by step directions :)

Will check in later!!! Hi to everyone!!

Hi everyone! I'll be back latter to catch up. It's been a long day. Steven had his 3rd endoscopy in the past 8 months today to make sure the gluten free and new meds are helping. THEY ARE!!! This is the best endoscopy ever over the past 2 years! Now I am just hoping the biopsy results show the same improvements.
