The only way to get FD in the summer is if you receive a PIN code. They don't do a general public FD offer until the "late summer" period (End of Aug-end of Sept).

That is what I thought, unfortunately! We pretty much have to go in the summer due to work schedules. Would be nice to someday get the free dining!

Here's a question. I'm already booked sept 7 to 16. To my knowledge no discount. If there's no free dining will there at least be some kind of discount I can get. I'm staying at pop. I can't imagine no discount at all for the fall for value ? Also. Another question. When someone stays at a value and gets free dining quick service and upgrades pays the $18/ a day upgrade for regular ddp. Would it be much more to just move to a mod and get it for free ? Or would their be a substantial increase $$$?

It's honestly not that much of a difference to move up to a mod. Maybe a couple hundred dollars vs value and upgrading to full dining.

It's more or less an extension of dates if you want another way of looking at it. They run through August 18.

My bad. Yes it's the 14th. I had the bounceback free dining offer on my brain. It ends the 18th and is the rumored start date for late summer free dining. I'll fix those posts.

Brain drain. Sorry yes it's the 14th. The free dining bounceback ended on the 18th and may be when free dining is offered. I had that on my brain when I posted.

I seem to remember this question coming up in another thread (I have a vested interest being there the 21st-25th) and I think the response was that there should be another discount, just not released until later....early May, I think? Hopefully someone here can give you a more definitive answer.

We too our going late August begining Aug 21. I cant imagine that there would be no discount at all. We have already booked and I soooo want to pay off this trip! If I pay the trip in full and a discount comes out, will I still be able to aply the discount?

As long as there's availability at your resort, you will have no problem applying the discount. If you're paid in full and a discount come out, they'll just give you some money back

I've read on other threads the TA "owns" the resv. until just prior to the trip. Want to make sure I give her a heads up so she takes care of this on the release date (4/02?) Also, how likely is it that the allotted number of rooms for this offer for our resort are gone on the release date? In other words, how much emphasis do I need to put on this to the TA?

Yes, your TA is in charge of the reservation and you have no control over it. The discount for your resort and dates could be gone the first day. There is no way of knowing. Is there some reason you don't want to make the reservation yourself so you can take care of the discounts? Unless you have a really good TA that you know and trust, just do it yourself.

There are plenty of TAs who will do their job effectively and get it booked for you. Tell your TA about the discount and ask her, if she will be able to look into it for you the morning it is released. If she says something like "I will when my office hours start" or "I don't work that day". Then you know you do not have a good TA. If she says "of course, I will get right on it", then you are good. Many on this site are anti TA. There is no reason you cannot have a good experience with a TA, as long as you have the right one. The majority are looking to make your trip extra special. A few are just looking for the commission.

Yes. Plus you have to pay the deposit with the card.

To add to this, if you have a trip already booked on a different card, all you need to do is put another $200 on your trip using your Disney Visa. It just has to be a $200 payment, so not necessarily the actual deposit.
