March 24th,2013 / 4 nights Bahamas

Hi!! I'm not to familiar with Buffalo Grove, but I was just there last week-had to take our dog to the ER vet there. Poor thing had an allergic reaction to her shots. Look forward to meeting you!!

Sorry to hear about your dog. It's ironic that you were just in BG. Lots of Vets around here.

Hi Momtomattclare and Bataviamom,
We are also from the Chicago area, Buffalo Grove to be exact. I have twin almost 14 years old boys and a 16 year old daughter. Our friends, by chance, ended up on the same cruise. It sounds like there will be lots of teens around. I hope my guys find some 13-14 year old boys to hang around with.

I have a 13 almost 14 year old for them! :goodvibes We'll be at the meet, but if you don't make that, I'm sure they will meet in Edge- my son loves it in there. :thumbsup2

For previous cruisers..does you OTC Medicine have to be in the original bottles? I use little travel cases for my OTC allergy medicine which is smaller than the bottle but is that permitted?? Please let me know so I can plan accordingly!! Thanks :)

No. Medicine does not need to be in original bottles. We also use the pill travel cases. Most of the OTC and our prescription ones i put in the pill cases vs the original bottles. Hope that helps!

I tried to send a private message to those who wanted to participate in the last-minute FE exchange. If you didn't get the message please let me know.

I'm still not very good at using this board and the messages. Here are the people I think I sent a message to:

liemge
luvdmouse
Jenners351
djmharwell
moebear

and there is my family of course. So even if only 3 of us participate, I've got enough little trinkets for 3 of the 4 nights, and will probably have more after my trip to the store. DD11 is the really gung-ho one!

Just remembered that my twins really enjoyed this on castaway Cay last time but they waited until they found out who was going. We signed them up the night before it happened. Might be something to mention to your teen that likes some sporty activities. They did this then came back, ate lunch and played about 3 hours of volleyball.

The Wild Side Teen Adventure Select this Activity
Duration: 4 to 4.5 hours
On this tour you will:

"Chart your own course and take a walk on the "Wild Side" of the island!
"Enjoy some time away from the folks on this teens only 3-in-1 tour which includes snorkeling, biking and kayaking.
"Bike ride along the Castaway airstrip and along the bike path by picture-perfect Serenity Bay to the northern side of the island an area reserved exclusively for teens on the Wild Side Teen Adventure.
"Kayak through the turquoise waters of the Caribbean and glide by the island's unique mangrove system.
"Head back to shore and bike back to Family Beach where a snorkeling adventure awaits. First-timers and experienced snorkelers will all enjoy the 20-acre snorkel lagoon featuring both a beginner and discover trail.
"All in all, this 4-hour adventure promises fun for everyone.

Oh yeah AND

Temps in Libertyville Illinois for the next week:
32 - 39 degrees - rain, sleet, snow

Temps in Orlando
76 - 88 degrees

Castaway Cay
75 chance of rain 10%

I'll take it!

Of course this is a really busy week at work! I just realized that there is not a lot of time to get things done!

Must start packing - funny to be looking at short sleeve stuff when we have 10 degree wind chills (secretly that makes me a little happy)!

That teen adventure sounds fun - and I think my son would really like it! Has anyone signed up for that yet? Is that something that fills up - or kind of open!

Where do you recommend that we eat lunch when we board? Are there certain places that are better?

Thanks for all the help!

Jan

If there is still room I would like to include my Granddaughter who is nine in the FE exchange her name is Autumn and is in room 6664. Just let me know who all is in and ages , room numbers and we will gladly join.

Hi! We aren't doing the FE, but we will be almost neighbors on the ship. We will be right down the hall. We have an almost 8 year old and almost 6 year old.

Well after starting the day at 0430 in California we finally are settling in to our room at the CBR...Safe travels to everyone and look forward to meeting folks on Sunday

My girls really enjoyed the teen adventure. I didn't sign them up because I wanted to see what the other teens they meet are doing. They decided to go when a bunch of other teens decided to last time and there was plenty of space. I suppose we could sign them up and cancel later, but that would mean I would have to remember to cancel.
;)

We ate lunch at Cabanas that first day. I think it's the the only option for the first lunch but I could be wrong about that. It wasn't bad. crowded though.

I can add her to my very informal list. :)

moebear has two daughters ages 12 and 10.

I have 3 daughters, but the younger one is the one that will take it seriously.

There are a couple of other girls that my daughter has been emailing but I think they are part of the formal FE or have opted out. I sent private messages to a couple of others. What I'm planning to do is get enough little trinkets for 8 - 10 girls. Age range 9 - 13 so that way my DD can pick out some people to deliver to.

I'll for sure add Autumn to the list! It's only a four day cruise. I'm sure the kiddos will enjoy whatever we leave for them.

Anyone else? Last call...

Ropedrop -

I made all of mine for the regular FE. But one of the components, I have enough extra to cover the latecomers. It's small and only one item per cabin, but I can add them if you send me the cabin list. We're in 7040-42 (one FE).
