Hi Everyone!
I wanted to get a thread started for our 4 day Med Cruise...
Want to set up an FE and a magnet exchange and a FB page.
I will be on the look out for another 11/12 year old boy for my son to meet on board.
Can't wait to meet every one!!!

we first planned to sail with the first cruise in the Med, but could not get a good price for this. Now we are looking for some specials for your cruise. We are from Germany, so the flight to Barcelona should not be a problem.

So, maybe, we are with you. Not enough folks for FE, too bad.

Hi Trixie!
We are going to be doing an Adventures by Disney Once Upon a Fairytale i.e. Germany prior to our 4 day Med cruise. We will be ending our trip in Munich and then we will fly to Barcelona.
I hope you guys find a good price...
My recommendation to find a good price might be to book a really cheap cabin for example then upgrade when you get on the boat. We have found on cruises that are not sold out we are buying a cheaper/higher category cabin and then upgrade on boat. For this cruise we booked a 5 C in hopes to upgrade to 4A when we check into port.

This will be cruise number 11 for us..here is a bit of DCL cruising "stuff"
Normally I would do what is called an Fish Extender exchange (FE) but since it is only a 4 day cruise and we will have been gone 2 weeks before we even get on the boat I won't do one this time as it is too much stuff to haul through Germany..you can find our more information about what FE is all about http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607
On our New Years Eve cruise on the Dream we did a Magnet exchange which is almost the same as an FE but it is only magnets and you don't have to drag along the pocketed FE and all the stuff to put in others FE...
Anyway the magnet exchange is fun as you get to find out about your fellow travelers and where the are from...
cruise. The magnet usually reflects something about where you are from.
We are from Pennsylvania so the one I made is about PA..
I can't figure out how to insert a picture of it...
Anyway decorating your door with magnets is a DCL tradition...

I am pretty clued up now haha. My cousins have been on many more cruises than us so have also promised to give me a lowdown for dummies next weekend

BTW some info on us: From Somerset UK, I will be 28 and DH 26 come cruise time. I cant wait but finding it so hard to keep it from hubby until his Birthday in June

we are still working on our booking. But we have already booked our vacation in Yorkshire this May/June. We will go there by ferry (Amsterdam/Newcastle and Harwich/Rotterdam). So it is kind of a cruise vacation too.

Sure is quiet...I noticed on line the other day that all of the Conceriarage levels are gone but it seems like all other cabin types are available still...I honestly don't mind a not full ship but this does seem to qualify as empty
We are going to do the Monaco, Monte Carlo and Eze tour, we were supposed to stop at Villefranche on our Med cruise in 2011 but we were diverted to Palma because of high winds (they could not get the tenders to shore) and we have been to Monte Carlo before so we want to get our son's picture in some of the same places as when he was about 3 years old.
In Palma I think we are going to do Valldemossa, Deia & Soller..we did Drach Caves & Porto Cristo last time we were there(it is amazing but we want to try something new this time.
What are you thinking about?

My DH has been to Nice and we went to Nice to catch the train last time we were there...I was not impressed at all for what it is worth. DH LOVES Eze and I can't wait to see it...
The Drach caves and Porto Cristo were so so amazing..we actually thought about getting off the boat in Palma and staying for a few days in Porto Cristo...but changed our minds and are going to go spend some time in Valencia after the cruise...
I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the choices
