well, I haven't been playing the ADR game, but I just have to say: I can't believe anyone would choose ABC Commissary over our beloved Flame Tree! I would eat at flame tree even if the food wasn't scrumptious. all those cool tables to sit at further down in, by the lagoon with a view of everest!
Yes, actually Adison has the BBB tee shirt, it's very cute. Last year we were doing BBB as a "once in a lifetime" kind of thing (haha...yeah, that plan always backfires!) and she had the Castle package, we bought the sparkly shoes, the purse & gloves set, and the pink glittered tee to commemorate it all.
Actually, that tee shirt sparked a debate in her pre-k class! lol It bought up the topic of princesses, and apparently (according to a bossy girl in her class) only one girl may declare each princess to be her favorite. Adison's favorite is Aurora, Bossy Girl's favorite is Aurora too. Adison was very upset that evening when she told me that SB can't be her favorite anymore because Bossy Girl likes her. I may have been wrong in doing so (probably should have explained the virtues of sharing favorites), but I told her that she could prove that she was the number one SB fan by bringing in a photo of them together...that'll show Bossy Girl!
Anyway, and yes I have seen the tutu once....on a picture of Honey Boo Boo! It is cute but I want to milk the princess loving years for all they are worth. I love the tutu for kids a little older though that are "too cool" to dress as a princess, but still want the magic of the BBB.
OH MY! That dress is too adorable on Maddie! It definitely is not "too much" and it's perfect (is there a such thing as "too much" at Disney??). Do you sew from patterns or make up as you go along? And if from patterns, do you buy the paper patterns at the store or get ideas online? I can sew...not as well as you, but I have the basics down, and I really should do it more often. I am embarrassed at the pile of unused fabric that I have accumulated, because I always have tons of ideas and then they never come to fruition! Was this style of dress fairly simple to accomplish?
Sometimes I use patterns, sometimes I don't. Most often I do a combination of both. I find arms and necklines to be easiest to do well with a paper pattern, but after that I draw what I want. I do use paper patterns. I only buy them when Joann's has them for $1 though.
This is one of the easiest dresses to make. It's very, very forgiving. It's actually just the top of a cheapo pattern I got a Joann's with the skirt drawn in straight lines. Couldn't be easier.
I have piles of fabric too. I never seem to get around to making all of the stuff I plan to. Luckily, our AG doll is benefiting from all of that fabric that I have stacked in the basement.
I have to think a bit to make my guess for your ADR and to vote, but I was wondering:
If we have not dined at either of the restaurant choices, should we not vote? That isn't an issue for me this round, but I could see it might happen...or should we vote just based on what we think we might like best?
I've actually never been to any of your first round matchups! Well, ABC Commissary YEARS ago, but I'll vote for Flame Tree over that - I've heard very good things about it!
Maddie's new dress is adorable!!
Chef Mickey
Flame Tree
I haven't been to either Ohana or Tony's so I'll pass on that one.
My ADR guess is Be Our Guest. Just because you were probably too excited about trying that one to wait.
Maddie looks like she loves her Hawaiian dress!
That dress is amazing! My neice would flip out although she firmly believes Lilo is actually Dora on vacation. She's 3 going on 16 so correcting her would be pointless and result is meltdown!
Bryan did a great job on the Tournament of Food!
I think he did too!
Chef Mickey's is a must!
Flame Tree BBQ sounds good to me
Ohana is another must do!
And, I would think a more relaxing start of the trip with Liberty Tree Tavern would be nice (Please don't tell me I'm wrong because it's not in the MK )
I would think that BOG needs a BBB apointment prior to diner!
All the best, Karen
Well last place is a good place to start!! So I have alot of redeeming to do. . . My guess for round 2 is Be Our Guest.
Tournament of food
Character/Dinner Show- Spirit of Aloha
Counter- Flame Tree BBQ
Table- Ohana
The "Lilo" dress is so cute and the model is super adorable! I really like your vintage look matching Mickey shirts!
I just PM'd you about the dresses--you read my mind! I saw the picture before I read the words and though, "I HAVE TO CONVINCE HER TO MAKE THIS FOR MY GIRLS!!!" AHHHHH!
Here are my picks for the tournament so far:
In the Character/Dinner Show Region- Chef Mickey
In the Counter Service Region- Flame Tree
In the Table Service Region- "Ohana (duh!)
I'm still trying to figure out the other game, LOL!
That dress is super cute! Maddie is going to get lots of special attention from Lilo!
My votes are for:
Chef Mickeys
Flame Tree
Ohana (a must do for us!)
And for your dinner I'll say BOG (how could you wait!?)
I am voting for
Chef Mickey's
Flame tree
O'hana
I think you will eat at Be Our Guest the first night.
Yay more games !
I vote for
Chef mickeys
Ohana
Flame Tree BBQ (although we enjoy ABC Commisary rotfl so I don't know why it gets such a bad rep!)
Hmm this is a tough one. I'm gonna have to go with BOG!
that dress is totally adorable and Maddies photoshoot is awesome!
The Lilo dress is ADORABLE!!!
For the match ups, I'm voting for:
Chef Mickey's and 'Ohana. I really enjoyed Tony's when I went there, but 'Ohana is my absolute favorite. (I've never been to either counter service place.)
I think yall are going to Be Our Guest on the first day! Maybe.
By the way, Bryan, AWESOME job!
LOVE the Lilo dress...and how adorable is Maddie doing the hula!?!
My guesses are Chef Mickey's, Flame Tree BBQ, and 'Ohana; and I'm thinking BoG for the first day!
I love Maddie's dress!! I really need to learn how to sew!
I will say Chef Mickey's, Flame Tree, and Ohana
My guess for your first dinner is Be Our Guest.
My votes: Chef Mickey's, Flame Tree, and Ohana.
My dinner guess on day 1 is Ohana's.
Super quick post because I really should be in bed now...
In the Character/Dinner Show Region
Spirit of Aloha

Flame Tree BBQ
In the Table Service Region
'Ohana
Day One
Liberty Tree Tavern
First, the tournament of food:
Character/Dinner Show - Chef Mickey's
Table Service - 'Ohana
Counter Service - Flame Tree BBQ
As for your first Disney meal, I think dinner with the Tremaines would be an excellent and hilarious way to kick off a vacation. My vote is for 1900 Park Fare.
LOVE the 'Ohana dress!! TOO Cute. . .and Maddie's modeling skills are excellent too!
Ok, here are my votes:
Chef Mickey's
Flame Tree BBQ (MY FAVE!!)
'Ohana
And my guess for your first night dinner is Chef Mickeys. . .gotta get the trip kicked off with some characters!!
I seriously LOVE Maddie's dress. You are so talented. I would love to learn to sew, but it seems so intimidating. Great job!
My Tournament of Food Choices:
Chef Mickey
Flame Tree BBQ - My favorite!!!
'Ohana
ADR Game
1900 Park Fare
I love Maddies dress!!! Irish I could sew. I would love to make Ava dresses like these! I order stuff off Etsy for her all the time, do you have a shop or anything?
My votes are for
Chef Mickeys, bc I love CR and the fab characters!
Flame Tree BBQ, bc it's good lol though I don't mind ABC, a lot of people hate it!
'Ohana bc, it's 'Ohana!!!!!
The first day is tough, I want to say BoG but I think I'm gonna go with 1900 PF, eeekkkk!
Hey there! I've been lurking through your previous trip reports, and i have decided to come out of the shadows! Sounds like you are going to have a great trip! We stayed in the POR princess rooms in oak manor, and i've gotta say we LOVED it! POR is my all time favorite resort! Maddie is sooo cute, especially in her hawaiian dress!
For the tournament of food, i would say:
Chef mickey's
Flame tree bbq ( i LOVED this place after we ate there on the last trip!)
Ohana
And for your first day's dinner, I'm gonna go with 1900 park fare! Great way to start off the trip, and i bet Maddy will find the tremaine sisters hilarious!
Hi ! i just found your PTR. I wanted to say that I received that same type of Pin that you did only for November! The CMs didn't know what the heck it was either. Luckily, I have a TA to call them 4 times in 2 days to figure it out. I even had to scan it to the TA because he hadn't seen one before. What a pain. In the end, I got the same answer that you did. No discount, just marketing. Oh well.
Awww.....I know Reid would love some pirate gear! We truly do need to have our trips overlap at some point. Since we're just doing the cruise this year, that takes us out of the equation for this year. Y'all should all go down during Mardi Gras next year for Reid's bday extravaganza!
Thank you for saying you'll look for the Cpt. America jammies for me. I really hope they have them in the store. I'm crossing my fingers that you find them!
I think Reid will do ok with all the walking until the end of the day. He's already heavy to carry around. I can only imagine a year from now. That's what scares me about not bringing the stroller.
It would be fun! We really do need to plan that one of these years soon!!
In the character/dinner show category, I have to go with......
Chef Mickey's. Always reliable for us. Last time we did Spirit of Aloha is was just ok.
Counterservice......
Hands down Flame Tree BBQ. According to Ed, that is the only reason to even go to Animal Kingdom.
Table Service......
I have to go with 'Ohana. Now, we've never done Tony's but 'Ohana is just great for both breakfast & dinner so it has to beat out Tony's.
And as for the ADR for Day one, I'm going to go with Be Our Guest. I see that as being a special meal to start off the trip.
My votes are
Chef Mickeys
Flame Tree
Ohara
That LILO dress is so cute! So talented! I might be sending you a PM again about something else. It's perfect and Maddie's looks like she loves it!
In the Character/Dinner Show Region
Chef Mickey
In the Counter Service Region
ABC Commissary
In the Table Service Region
'Ohana
And for your first dinner ADR, I think it's Be Our Guest
I am loving the pictures of Maddie in her Ohana dress. She is the perfect model. And how cute is she doing the hula.
When I saw you were at 17 pages I went with the links! Your sagas sound like mine! Just this past week I had an interesting encounter with CMs...and it really made me question calling Disney directly and the responses you get! Your ADRs look great and I think your (well, I guess it was Maddie's!) to change to the Royal Rooms at POR was a wise move. We walked to AOA in October and when I saw the distance, I knew Little Mermaid rooms would not be found on my list!
Great job on the dress!! And love the shopping spree photos! Also love the game although I missed out on that reading links only...and so late!!
what an adorable dress and model
Did you catch the Top Chef finale?
Chef Mickeys
Flame Tree
Ohana
All on the agenda for our next trip!
That dress is beyond adorable!! Seriously the cutest thing I've seen all day!
Wow, tell Bryan that the bracket looks great! Very professional!
Now our first trip isn't until September, so I'm not sure if I'm really allowed to vote since I haven't actually been to any of the restaurants. But I would love to continue on with the fun so I'm going to anyway.... no problem if you don't want to count my votes! I'll vote based on what I've read in TRs, pics, menus, etc and most of all.... the ADRs that I'm hoping to get for our trip!
Chef Mickey
Flame Tree BBQ
Ohana
As for your Day One ADR, I think you'll want to start off your trip with some characters.... maybe some fun stepsisters. So my guess is for 1900 Park Fare.
I'll gladly take your foot of snow. We're expected to get 2 - 5 inches of snow with some ice to go with it.Have a great Tuesday everyone! We'll be hunkered down at home since we're expected to get another foot of snow tonight. Isn't is March?
Even if you aren't playing the ADR game, you can still vote in the Tournament of Food! I'll mark down a vote for Flame Tree for you!
Too funny. We had a similar incident with a girl in Maddie's preschool class. Maddie wasn't allowed to wear Rapunzel shirts because she called the movie 'Rapunzel' not 'Tangled' and a true fan would know the name of the movie.
I told Maddie to tell mean girl that she's met Rapunzel and that Rapunzel said she could call it whatever she wants and wear the shirts with pride.
So, I guess I took a pass on the high road too.
I'm not crazy about the BBB tutu, but I do think we'll buy the T-shirt this time. Maddie would love to have it to wear to dance/gymnastics as a cover up.
It's always just this once isn't it?
I'd say vote for the one that you'd most like to try.
