They are making their way off now!! I can go to bed now! Was staying up to see them make if off!
Some ships require power to lower the lifeboats, the Disney Magic and Wonder included. But they usually have back up power available for those. It has become a new standard to have lifeboats that can be launched using only gravity. The Dream and Fantasy have this. I believe they have electronic assist, but in the case of power loss, they can be lowered manually... but yes very tempting to just take a boat...
This thead can stay open for the discussion of the progress the ship.
Any bashing, bickering, snarky, snide off topic posts will be deleted and the thread shut down.

Edited to Add: The Triumph's lifeboats would serve as tenders.
WOW.

We are such germaphobes that I can't imagine walking around in the sludge.
The reports of parents having to cut sheets for diapers sounds like a nightmare.
I hope this doesn't happen to any other cruise passengers on any other ship.
We have seen a few interviews with very angry passengers, but I'm most amazed by the interviews with the positive people. What upbeat attitudes! They were so happy just to be home and with their families. That's the attitude I'd hope I would have.
One of our local families on board said the toilets didn't start running over until the ship started leaning. I'm sure the news will have an in depth interview later this evening.
These systems are not gravity controled, to many cabins, pubilic heads, pipes and angles and tanks. The waste can get caught up in these areas, not the large treatment tanks........
Anyone else have better information?

Not ALL of the restrooms should be this way but if the ship had say 10 restrooms on board that would work when in these situations then everyone could be informed to use those restrooms when the ship is in emergency situations.
Gravity might work to dump it but there are pumps to push the water up to the toilets and electric to actually open the valves to dump the system(no pun intended).
I'm really curious to find out what burned to take out at least 4 engines and there associated power distribution systems.
