Unfortunately, my car blew up yesterday so we decided to cancel our BWV trip in April. I will have to enjoy the Boardwalk from your posts for the next year. Fortunately, we do still have our DCL Dream cruise this year, so I will still get my Disney fix.
Gadzooks! Is everyone OK? Good thing you can still do the cruise. It's hard canceling a trip though - sorry about the big mess and blown-up plans.

Yes, everyone fine. It is a 16 year old Camry, but still has good value. I just went to get oldest from her dance class, and in that less than 10 mile round trip, the engine was knocking, rattling, engine light came on, died, and started smoking. My 11 year old was able to drive the car home as I pushed it the block back home.

My family and i are going to the Boardwalk May 5-12 we are staying in a 2 bedroom villa, does anyone have pics of those rooms. Thanks

:welcome:
Take a stroll around the BW. We enjoy walking to DHS and Epcot. It's fun to make a stop at the YC and just sit in the lobby or look around the shop. Explore BWI some inside and out. The BW entertainers appear nightly and are lots of fun. They perform between the marina and BWI. I hope you have lots of fun in the sun!

Thank you so much for your suggestions:) Do you have any favorite restaurants there?

We always use an air mattress in the 1 bedroom. It fits fine on the floor on the living room, and we just set it up against the wall during the day. It's not the prettiest sight but we don't care.

Thanks Erika that's just the info I was looking for!

ESPN Club is my favorite. Bar food, draft beer, and no reservations.

The others TS on the Boardwalk are
Flying Fish
Big River Grille
Kouzzina

There is a take out pizza place by slice or by whole pie.

Plus, you have several TS restaurants across the water in the Beach Club. Enjoy the fun.

All two bedroom villas at BWV are lockoffs. Meaning a combination of a studio and one bedroom. So you'll have one king bed, one queen sleeper sofa (in the living room) and a queen bed and double sleeper sofa in the second bedroom. Plus a kitchenette in the second bedroom and another door to the outside corridor.

just checked in online can not wait going to get some heavy snow this weekend then sunshine next week

Hello all!:)

I am in the midst of helping my brother set up a surprise proposal for his lady love! She knows they will be visiting Disney, but thinks they will be staying at a different resort, which they will for one night to throw her off. On the second night, they will be moving to one of the Garden Suite Cottages at Boardwalk Inn, starting with, we hope a surprise dinner with ring, etc. already set up and ready to go.

My DH and I will be down to help arrange things behind the scenes..checking in early before their arrival, and then slipping him a key back at their other resort. We plan to go after they're on their way to BWI (she thinks, just to eat dinner) to pack their stuff up and drop it at BWI bell services to be called for at some point after the dinner/proposal.

I have been in touch with the Concierge, but was basically just told to contact Private Dining. My question is, since this won't be until May, is it too early to contact them now? We're really curious what they may be able to do, in terms of set up, etc. Would it be better to contact Disney Catering and Conventions? I have a call in to them already about an Illuminations Dessert Party, but haven't heard back yet.

Don't have any answers... But awww, what a great setup!

What an awesome thing that you're doing for your brother!!!!:goodvibes

It really depends on what you're looking to do. Just a dinner set up in the room? Perhaps a special cake? Then yes, you should absolutely go w/ Private Dining. They will put you in touch with the proper people to get things set up if not through them. You may be restricted to the in room dining menu - but ask them if they would be willing to "deliver" a meal from one of the "local" restaurants.

Catering and Conventions has had (at least as of 2011/2012) a policy of not doing "small" events (Less than 20, I believe) and even with that, you're looking at a minimum food order of between 2-5k. If they've changed that policy, let me know, I'm still itching to surprise my DH with a special event in the World!:)

I checked back in with C&C again this afternoon. I have been assigned to a planner who should be calling me tomorrow, so I'll ask then. Maybe since we are also doing an Illuminations dessert party they would be willing to help put something together and just add it all to the same BOE. We did 2 events during one trip between the GF and an Illuminations Dessert Party, and it was all just one big bill, but that was about 5 years ago. I'm sure a lot has changed since then!

My brother said they would LOVE it if food from the Flying Fish could be arranged! It's so close, so maybe between Private Dining and Catering somebody somewhere can hook up up!:thumbsup2

I also checked on some things with Disney Floral, so I know we can at least get all of the flowers, candles, table & chairs, etc. from them. We've got some stuff planned for the downstairs, and then the upstairs. I love the fact that it's 2 levels, so there will be more surprises that won't be seen until later!

My BIGGEST concern is the timing with all of this!! Everything has to be delivered and set up just so to pull it off! :scratchin

We returned from another amazing stay at BWI CL last Sunday. We initially planned three nights Poly, three nights BWI CL and two nights AKL-Jambo in a 1-bedroom villa. After our first night at BWI, we knew we needed to cancel those reservations at AKL and stay at BWI for the rest of the trip. We were so happy with our decision.

BWI CL remains outstanding as always. We requested and received a boardwalk view and it's absolutely my favorite room view in all of WDW. The location can't be beat. The boardwalk music is wonderful and the atmosphere is both lively and relaxing at the same time. I'll come back to post photos when I organize them!

As for the BWI restaurants, we've been to all of the TS locations, and surprisingly, our favorite is Kouzzina. Based on menu alone, I would have thought Flying Fish would be our favorite, but we prefer the atmosphere and friendly service at Kouzzina. The food at Kouzzina is great - everyone in our family of five (including kids ages 6, 12 and 13) enjoyed it. As for the more casual TS, we prefer Big River over ESPN. Neither serves the best food in the world, but we appreciated the beer selection at Big River, the more quiet atmosphere, and the view.

I also wanted to put in a plug for the BWI quiet pool. When staying at BWI in the past, we've only been to Luna Park. During this stay, Luna Park was closed and we were thrilled to have access to SAB. But when we wanted a quick swim without going over to SAB, we went down to the BWI quiet pool. I can't say enough positive things about it - relaxing setting, truly quiet (well, maybe our three boys changed that a teeny bit) and very convenient. It's one of my new favorite places in WDW. :)

I'll try to post photos soon, but I'm happy to answer questions based on our recent stay!
