He Was Bitten, Bitten By The Bug! A Nov-Dec '12 TR **WRAP UP 7/26**

Well, I went during Christmas, of course I was taking pictures of the decorations! Plus I knew people who've never been would love it.

And writing this is making me miss my trip too.

I barely took pictures of the decorations- unless it was a giant tree, life sized toy soldier... Well you get the idea.... :) Dec seems so far away now (sigh)

Love the pictures with Mickey, Minnie and Pluto...very cute.

I would have loved to see The Three Wise Men. I really want to try to oncentrate on seeing more of the storytellers this year since we really only heard two.

You got some great pictures inside of Mexico. I cannoat believe the line for Maelstrom. I've never understood the need for a Fastpass for that after the initial opening, but that would have been a good day for it.

I take pictures of everything though. Took about 400 pictures a day!

The Three Wise Men were cool. It's similar to how it's celebrated in the US. I wish I had been able to see more of the storytellers too. The only ones I listened to were those 2 I just posted. I passed the one in Germany and may have gotten a pic but didn't have time to stop for any of the others.

The line for Maelstrom was unreal. It's not like it's summer or even the holiday week, it was a pretty slow day at Epcot.

You got some really good pictures with the Characters!

I just love the Mexico pavilion! So much to see in there.

Glad you got to see some of the storytellers. Somehow Mom and I walked all the way around World Showcase and didn't see one of them. I guess we just had bad timing.

That line for Malstrom is crazy! It was about 30 minutes when we went by the day before. We didn't ride though because we had an ADR and would be cutting it too close.

I love the Mexican pavilion too, it's very unique compared to the others.

The storytellers did come and go, I got lucky seeing those two. I wish I had time to see them all.

It was ridiculous that the line was that long for Maelstrom. It's a ride I will do with no or little line, but definitely not worth waiting 60 minutes for!

I'm glad you got to see the storytellers. I didn't get to catch too many of them, but I did see parts of the Norway one a few different times. It really was a great one!

I can't believe the line for Maelstrom! :scared1:

The storytellers were pretty cool. The Norway one is pretty funny.

That line really shocked me!

POSSIBLE TRIP(S) UPDATE:

So, I've been going back and forth for a few weeks about posting about this, but since I said something on Kathy's TR about it, I will.

I am POSSIBLY taking a short trip to WDW next month for my birthday. I say possibly because I'm only going if my wonderful friend Steve goes with me, and I don't know if he will. I've mentioned it to him, but told him to think about it and give me an answer by the end of this month so I have time to book it. To be honest I think the chance of him saying yes is about 10% at this point, just because I know him and don't think he will be willing to take 3 days off work to go with me. But I hope he says yes and we go. If we do go I do have an outline of what will happen (dates, where staying, etc). I think I will hold off on putting them here until I hear something from him. I probably won't get an answer from him until the end of the month when I remind him I need an answer, because that's how he is. :rotfl:

The reason this is possible trip(s) is if Steve does say no to this trip, I'm planning on going a different time, though not a normal WDW trip at all. I want to do the Expedition Everest 5K on May 4th. I'm working on getting in better shape as I've gained back some of the weight I had lost, about 15 lbs that I really want to lose, and my knees aren't the best so I need to train to even do a 5K. But it sounds like a lot of fun! But it won't be a normal WDW trip if I do this as I will just come down on the 3rd, do the 5K on the 4th and leave on the 5th. Probably no park time outside of the 5K, though I may change my mind and do one day if I do wind up doing this trip. To be honest I just came up with this back-up plan in the last couple days so I don't have much in mind yet for it.

I don't think I can afford both trips, so that's why it's one or the other. If something changes and I can afford both trips I will do both, provided Steve agrees to go. If I had to pick one I'd rather do the birthday trip as I can run 5Ks up here anytime and would love to be at WDW for my birthday, and get to show off WDW to Steve (more on that coming up in my TR). So fingers crossed he surprises me by saying yes and I get to go back for a quick trip next month!!!! :goodvibes

Yeaaaaaaah baby! A possible trip to Disney! :cool1: I keep saying that I'm going to get back in running shape and it ain't happened yet. But, I do feel a lot better when I am exercising several times a week. Keep us posted!

I hope you get your Birthday trip! If not, the 5K sounds interesting. What a great motivator to get in shape. I need something like that. I couldn't do a marathon though because I broke my ankle very badly about 10 years ago and I've never gotten full motion back in it. I can walk but running is more of a hop/skip motion rather than a run. :rotfl:

Good luck! Both trips look like they'd be a lot of fun, but I'd probably lean towards wanting the Birthday trip a little more too! I hope when it is said and done, you can actually do both, but I'm sure you'll make the most of whatever it is that you do! :thumbsup2

I'm trying not to get too excited about the possible trip next month, as I know it probably won't happen and I don't want to be let down. But having the back-up plan is nice.

Exercise is a good idea no matter what, even if you aren't in "running shape".

I will definitely keep you all posted on what happens!!!

Thanks, I really hope so too! It is interesting. I don't know if you've seen anything about it, but it's a treasure hunt with obstacles you do along the running of the 5K, which makes it more unique and fun.

I doubt I could ever do more than a 5K due to my asthma and bad knees. I hurt bad enough after 3.1 miles, 13.1 or 26.2 would probably break me! :rotfl2:

I'd love to do both, but realistically I doubt it. But if possible I will. I definitely want the birthday trip to work out, as I know it would be fantastic!!!!

I hope the birthday trip goes off for you; and I hope you are able to swing both of them as well (even though our dates will not coincide).

Thanks! I'm bummed that if I do go for my birthday it will be just a bit before your possible trip for Mark's job. We keep doing that! :rotfl:

Yay for possible trips to Disney!! Also my knees suck (they sound like bubble wrap popping when I bend them :scared:) However I have been using knee wraps (like an ace bandage of sorts) and they have been a lot happier.... They were only $3 each at Walmart... I use them when I workout or if they are sore...

My right knee is pretty bad at times, especially when it's cold. I do have a good wrap for it that works pretty well. The left isn't nearly as bad thankfully.

I'd love to run a 5K at Disney and I think the Everest Challenge looks the most fun of all of them! Here's hoping you can somehow do both trips!

Doesn't it look fun? I really hope I go for my birthday, and both would be even better!!
