Who Invited My Mother In Law? A Moderately Deluxe TR All New X 3 & PTR Link 2/3 !!

Hard to believe our TR is almost done but hooray on an upcoming trip!! I am glad Chef Mickey's turned out to be a good meal! We haven't had luck there but last time was breakfast. I am also glad you were feeling up to enjoying your last night!

She adores that doll, and it goes everywhere with us! I will share the pictures for sure-but it may be on my PTR! ;)

I am so sad to hear that Eric is gone, but I think Maddie will be thrilled to see Ariel with her fins. I'm still grieving over the Belle M&Gs being gone too. Guess we'll spend more time visiting her at Epcot!

Where did you go instead? Are you doing a TR? I should check your signature.

Thanks!

Ah just noticed the new ticker and the reference to the PTR totally makes sense! :rotfl: How exciting! I can't wait to read the PTR!

Ariel in her fins is pretty awesome and her grotto is very well done! Even Dbf couldn't stop talking about how Ariel has the coolest M&G spot. Not meeting Belle in her yellow dress in MK was hard to accept. However, Belle in her blue dress is pretty good too!:thumbsup2 So many people were walking past the line asking who it was though? :confused3 I heard a lot of "Oh that must be Alice".

I'm pretty sure that's when we at at Liberty Tree Tavern and loved it! I just started my TR a few days ago!:cool1:

Maddie is so excited at the idea of meeting Ariel in her fins (thanks to new FL commercials on Disney Channel) so I guess I needent have worried about poor old Prince Eric.

We love Belle in her "book reading dress"! I can't believe that people don't recognize her. I always wonder who they think they're lining up for!

Too funny about Donald's hat!!! He does look a little funny without it there!

I agree about the Oreo Bon Bons being a very sad loss from CMC....best part of the meal in my opinion!!!

Doesn't he?

I'd have to agree about the BonBons. They're amazing. I can only hope they'll be back.

I'm glad you have a new ticker, but jealous... I'll definitely have to follow along.:thumbsup2

Please do! It's been nice having you join in the TR!

I kind of did the same thing. I had to try a little bit of everything (and a lot of some things). I was so miserable after that meal... :faint:

The sacrifices a man will make for the sake of a TR are staggering. ::yes::

That is a neat story! I'm glad that Donald remembered to stop back by!

It was such fun for her. A cool moment for sure.

Great assessment, I agree 100%. Except it seems to be more of a first meal thing than a last meal thing for us so far. :lmao:

It's a great character meal. We've never had a bad time. I'm glad that your family enjoys it too!

All caught up!

I'm sorry you weren't feeling well your last day, but I'm glad you got a nap in and was able to salvage the evening. I totally agree with your Chef Mickey's assessment, the food isn't great, but the characters and setting are! :goodvibes We had the best character interaction of all at Chef Mickey's on our last trip, they really went above and beyond to connect with Everett.

I love the ears that Maddie is wearing, they are so cute!

Isn't Chef Mickey such fun? We've always had a ball there.
I can't wait to hear about Everett's experience there!

She loves those ears! Her stuffed dog wears them at home.

I forgot to ask earlier, did you pack an extra bag for all of Maddie's friends that were coming back with you guys?

Love how she accessorized the dress with the hat. :thumbsup2

Boo for feeling under the weather on vacation

LOL! We kind of did. Bryan doesn't take a carry on for the flight down. We pack an empty duffel bag, and on the flight back he carries the duffel full of dirty laundry as his carry on. That way the stuffed guys can fit in the suitcases.

She's a fashionista for sure.

Aw Maddie looks adorable as always in her dress!

What cute character pictures from Chef Mickeys. I love that she noticed Donalds hat was missing right away!:thumbsup2

How sad that the TR is almost over but can't wait to hear what's in store for next time! Does Maddie know already?

Thank you! She's still in love with that dress.

We have so much fun at Chef Mickey, and Donald's missing had really added some fun for us this time.

Maddie doesn't know yet. Her birthday is this week, and we're going to tell her on her birthday.

Another great update! Sorry you were feeling under the weather.

CR is our favorite resort and we always end our trip with breakfast at Chef Mickey's before we head to the airport! Gotta get that one last dose of character magic before we head home.

Thank you.

We love the vibe at the CR, I'd love to stay there. That's a great idea. What a cool way to take some magic with you.

Love Maddie's dress and hat! So cute. Sad that the report is wrapping up but excited to read the PTR for the new trip!!!

Jill in CO

Thank you! I'm so glad that you'll be joining in!

Yay for Chef Mickey's! I love that place... sounds like a good time! I wonder what happened to Donald's hat? He does look pretty odd without it! :rotfl:

I love Chef Mickey too. We've always had an amazing time there.

I wonder too, it was weird. Kind of cool that the characters costumes are intricate enough that he can go without though!

Yes, Mulan stuff is so scarce! Otaku was ecstatic every time we saw something about Mulan. I really should have bought that doll! I rarely buy from the Disneystore website because shipping is ridiculously expensive, and I live 6 hours away from the closest store. :( You never know though, I could be visiting Ron's family while they are on sale, so it's nice of you to say you'll let me know.

Maddie's dress is so GORGEOUS!!!! Wow! I love the whole interaction with Donald, and how he came back to let her know he found his hat. :thumbsup2

I will 100% keep an eye out for sales, and for free shipping codes too (will those work for shipping to Canada?) Mulan stuff is super scarce. My niece is obsessed with her, and at Christmas I tried everything short of selling my live to get her the Mulan costume. I just couldn't pay the triple price people are asking on Ebay. Of course Disney Store has them again now.

We had such fun at Chef Mickey. We love it.

What a great experience at Chef Mickey's! Maddie looks lovely in her dress, and all of the characters sound like they were great with her. I've heard and experienced some not-so-great things about Chef Mickey's recently, so I'm glad to see a good report!

I've heard some not-so-magical reviews lately myself. Maybe we're not picky enough, but we had a great time.

Maddie just can't get enough characters.

I finally joined the DISboards after a year of lurking. I love everything about this TR and cannot wait for you to go again so you can write another one. Thank you for all the invaluable information and the incredible food descriptions. I so want to try the Oreo Bon Bons now. I learned quite a lot from you and have incorporated some of your suggestions into our upcoming trip.

:thanks::thanks::thanks::thanks::thanks:

I really, really appreciate the kind words. I hope that as I have you'll find the DIS to be a great place to make wonderful Disneyloving friends.

You win for my favorite post of the day!!!

I am so glad to have been of some help to you. I have gotten so much info, times, and advise from TRs, I am really glad to know that mine's helped someone too.

If you ever have any questions please ask. If I don't know-some one will. that's the best part about the DIS!

Trust me-if you ever come across those Oreo Bon Bons grab a dozen. You'll be glad that you did.

We also love Chef Mickey. It's much more about the fun then the food, but it's a little bit about the desserts too! LOL

Excited to see you have a new trip in the works! YAY

That's true-it is a little about the desserts.:rotfl:

I hope you'll join in the PTR!

Couple of comments then I'm off to read the last chapter...

No worries. You were probably just DIStracted.

I truly hope that I didn't DISappoint you. That would have been DISasterous. And DISheartening.
We could do this for days couldn't we?

That's very true. Just ask anyone.

On second thought.... don't.

You know your secret is safe with me.

In first place was.... < drumroll please >

ABC Commissary

That makes a ton of sense. We've never eaten there, and aren't planning on it any time soon.

I did see that you had a new ticker. That's great! I'll be clicking on over to the PTR when you get it up and running but I tend to just lurk until the TR starts.

I don't blame you. I lurk on PTRs a lot too, but if I don't do one I'll drive DH bonkers before the trip. He can't handle the planning talk for 6 months.

Love the outfit and especially the hat.

Thanks Ponz

And I see she's learned the classic Disney Princess pose. :thumbsup2

She's in training.

Which is way better than hopping off your foot at MK and making your way by bus to the CR.

Good point. I can always count on you.

I imagine that the cold I had would have seemed minor compared to loosing an appendage.

 That's how I felt when we did Character meals. I prefer to eat undisturbed ('cause I'm disturbed enough already) but we booked them for the DDs. I kept feeling like I had to smile when all I wanted was to eat my food!

Ah, well. The rugrats were pleased.

That pretty much sums it up. She loves it though.

What was the other?

You found the fatal flaw in my note taking. We can say it was whatever we want. How does split pea sound to you?

yum

yum

meh

yum

double yum.

No veggies! My kind of buffet! Who has room for broccoli when roast beef is calling your name? :confused3

:rotfl: There must have been some, but they didn't find their way to our plates. Not at a buffet, no sir.

Sounds close to what I would've done. Except for the Mickeyroni and pizza.

Not because I wouldn't.... but because I would've forgotten that I could.

I'll remind you before your next trip.

:) That's a great memory!

It was great. She still talks about it.

::yes:: We've only been the one time. But we certainly enjoyed it.

Thanks for the chapter Shanaloopie! :goodvibes:

Thanks Ponzahontas

I just love a good Maddie photo shoot!

So does she! :rotfl:

Oh, how I love Chef Mickey's! I know our last visit wasn't so spectacular, but I still can't wait to go again, and your post reminded me of that! Also, Julia got a cute apron for Chef Mickey's that my MIL found at a thrift store, and I'm excited for her to get to wear it there next time. Maybe with her apron and Donald's missing hat, we could have a whole outfit!

We're not fancy people when it comes to taste, and we do love the food at CM just like you guys. We think it's great, very filling.

I'm grateful for the Oreo Bonbon analysis. Very handy.:lmao:

I hate that this TR is winding down .

I'm so glad that your last visit didn't ruin it for you. I love it there. The whole atmosphere is so much fun.

That apron sounds cute! I can't wait to see pictures of that.

I'm here for all of your Oreo Bon Bon needs.

I am too, but I hope you'll join the PTR! I am so excited to have another trip in the works!

FINALLY finished reading the whole thread! Three hours well spent! Your daughter is absolutely adorable, and she loves the princesses! When I was her age (which wasn't that long ago, maybe nine years ago?) I HATED the princesses and wanted nothing to do with them! Also, I may be able to help you explain that confused PP. I'm much to young to do the College Program or do any work for Disney, a much older friend of mine spent his CP season as a PP. After I told him about what had happened to you, he explained that the photographer might not have been aware that guests could ask to take pictures with their own cameras, as he explained that sometimes the instructors will forget to explain it to the trainees or only inform those who ask that yes, it they can. It might not be right, but it's some sort of solution, at least!

Anyway, a quick question, is there any place to get good Stitch merch at Epcot? I love Stitch and the only park I get to go to is Epcot...

Thank you for posting all of these wonderful photos!

Thank you for joining in! I appreciate the PP insight. That must have been it.

I think you can probably find some good Stitch stuff at Mousegears. I think they had a bunch of stuffed Stitches at the very least. The Poly might have some too!

Love the Chef Mickey's update--that is one of our favorites, too! We just always have fun there!

Can't wait to read about your last evening and to follow along on your PTR!

We love it there too. It's so much fun.

I am so glad that you'll be joining in the planning!

Hey Shannon! I enjoyed the updates, but I'm awfully sorry you got sick - it is just so wrong to have to be sick while on vacation, especially a Disney vacation. I'm glad it was towards the end, but still. :(

Loved hearing about Chef Mickey's for dinner! It looks like Maddie had a blast! :woohoo: We did breakfast there on our first trip, and I am 99% sure that we are going to try for a dinner ADR for the upcoming trip. Can't wait! :woohoo:

Being sick was not fun, but I'm glad that it was the last day.

It was so much fun! I hope that you guys get that ADR, because it's just been a blast for us.

I love that back room behind the buffet at CM! I have had breakfast & dinner in that room, and then dinner in the room that is off to the left when you walk into the restaurant. The back room is far superior, for some reason...I guess because it is separated from the buffet and all of the foot traffic!

That was the best place to sit! We sat in the room on the right last trip, and it seemed too close and too far away at the same time. We love our table this time.

I went back to your post about the miracle serum for doll hair to see the softener amount to use, and I had to laugh, because I am always questioning in my mind "Do we really need ANOTHER Rapunzel doll?" and Maddy's picture with all of her dolls reminded me that the rationale of a little girl is that too many dolls could never be enough. Thank you Maddy for that reminder! lol I shall never question dd's desire for another Rapunzel, barbie, or any other toy for that matter! ;)

:rotfl: Maddie would be so pleased to know she's spreading the gospel. One cannot have too many Rapunzel dolls. or too many princess dolls. Of course you need it!:rotfl:

Maddie is so adorable in her dress and headband ears! While Chef Mickey will never win food of the year, it remains one of the most fun character meals for us. My DGD says, "I just love Chef Mickey!!"

While we were there, Donald came by the table when DGD was at the dessert bar. Our waiter was kind enough to let Donald know to come back. Although, it took three times to tell Donald, which the waiter made a big to do about Donald being so slow. When Donald came over, he apologized to DGD for missing her. Too cute. DGD left a happy girl!

There were some pretty rambicous children there, Minnie walked over to her handler and shed some tear and regrouped. Not sure what had happened, and luckily, my DGD was oblivious to all of this going on.

Chef Mickey is always on our must do list.

Glad to know you have another trip plan and you're planning on a PTR. Fun to follow along And, if things work out for us, it looks like we might be there the same time!

All the best, Karen

Thank you so much Karen. I'm glad that you've also had a great experience at CM, we just love it there. There's something so magical about meeting Mickey and friends in that location. It's awesome.

I'm so glad that you'll join in the PTR. There will be lots of dining and wardrobe talk!

I've loved reading about Maddie at Disney! I have to tell you, I pulled my 2 year old over yesterday and started showing her the characters from your report. She keeps coming up to me asking to see again, so I'll pull it back up and show her again! I can't wait until we can take her. That won't be soon since she is getting a sibling in August, but that doesn't mean I don't have an itinerary for our trip in about 4 years! Our first meal will be Chef Mickeys! :rotfl:

Thanks so much for the kind words! You're tied for my favorite post of the day!! I am so glad to know that you and your DD are enjoying the character pics. We sure enjoyed meeting them.

I think you'll love Chef Mickey! It's great.

So excited to hear you have a new trip planned! Makes me a little less sad that this TR is winding up.

As long as you keep it going I can imagine you guys stuck in Disney permanently!

Me too! I hope you'll join in.

If Maddie and I had it our way, we would be.

I adore Maddie's outfit for that night's dinner! She's so precious! :goodvibes

And I love how much she talks to the characters. Reid did a little more talking this year but it certainly wasn't that much.

Sounds like y'all really had a great meal! We've never done dinner at Chef Mickey's, only breakfast. But, I am considering doing a breakfast and dinner there in December since we'll be staying there.

So sad it's almost the end of the trip! :worried: But, you know I'll be onboard for the PTR!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Thanks Amanda!

She chats their ears off! I actually pull her away more times than not.

We had so much fun. I know not everyone likes it, but we've always had a great time.

Thanks Amanda! I knew I could count on you. Do you realize that between you, Roni, and myself we'll have the whole summer and 3 different types of vacations covered? We'll have PTR and TRs to read for at least a year!

We enjoy Chef Mickeys for both breakfast & Dinner and have enjoyed eating there in each trip.
Kadence loves the interaction and the food has been pretty decent for us so far.

I can't wait to hear your upcoming plans

We love it there!

I am going to start the PTR tonight!

What a fun dinner! Sorry you still weren't feeling well. We are excited to try Chef Mickey's (for breakfast) for the first time in October!

Can't wait for your PTR- which reminds me that I need to update mine!

I hope that you love it there! We have always had a great time!

Thanks for mentioning the PtR, I never look at signatures. I'll have to join in!

Shannon, I'm sorry I'm so late in responding (being sick and then catching up at work kept me off the DIS basically completely last week :( ).

I love Maddie's princess outfit -- priceless.

Great character photo shots with her, and good interaction with Donald and Minnie.

I have to be honest that yours is the first "good" review of Chef Mickey's I've read in over a year. The last time we were there (2004) it was awful and we've not gone back. I'm thinking of trying to squeeze it in for breakfast on a future trip, but not dinner.

I'm sorry you still weren't feeling great.

So glad you're feeling better Kathy!

Thanks, you know that girl can rock a princess outfit. :rotfl2:

Chef Mickey is such fun. If we didn't have a little one we'd stick to breakfast too (I'd rather do all character meals at breakfast, but DH insists that CM be our last dinner, so I do it)

Looks like a great time at Chef Mickey's. I agree with you--I don't understand the hate here. But whatever...I'm glad it was a good meal with all the favorite characters!

I don't get it either. I consider good food a character meal a bonus. We're just there for the fun, and we always have fun at Chef Mickey.

Hard to believe our TR is almost done but hooray on an upcoming trip!! I am glad Chef Mickey's turned out to be a good meal! We haven't had luck there but last time was breakfast. I am also glad you were feeling up to enjoying your last night!

I'm so sad that it's ending, but I'm excited that we'll be back this summer.

So sorry that you didn't enjoy your meal there. How did you talk Keith into going?;)

After dinner we walked back to the Magic Kingdom with heavy hearts. We were glad to have one more night in Walt Disney World, but weren’t ready for our vacation to be over. Well, Maddie and I had heavy hearts. Bryan is much more mature about such matters.

IMG_6053.jpg

Our first stop inside the Magic Kingdom was for Princess Meet and Greet FP. (You guys didn’t seriously think we’d not say goodbye did you?). After securing our FP we proceeded straight to Pixie Hollow. Maddie was still holding out hope that she’d meet Silvermist, and I haven’t found a good way to tell her that it’s not possible).

Some PP along the way

The line for the fairies was about 35 minutes, and the way I was feeling it seemed much, much longer. Eventually though we made our way inside. We were all pleased as punch to discover a new fairy friend when we stepped inside.

Being silly waiting in line

Terrence!

Maddie made sure to tell him that he’s her Daddy’s favorite.

We met Tink too of course.

IMG_6101.jpg

Once we’d visited with them it was back to the front of the park to say goodbye to our princess friends. We were chosen to carry the red card, and this made Bryan feel as though he was carrying a backstage pass to a rock concert. We were getting a little silly.

IMG_6105.jpg

And what a visit it was. These ladies were all fantastic. Cinderella and Maddie chatted at length about shoes, Belle spearheaded a nice chat about books, Beast’s hair, and his favorite rides. Aurora talked about princess gowns and told Maddie that she does enjoy wearing PJs, but that she doesn’t really sleep much these days. Maddie had a great time, and it was the perfect group of princesses to meet on our last night.

Once we’d said farewell to old friends we made our way into Fantasyland. We were hoping that since it was getting close to time for the MSEP the wait times for the rides would be short.

Our first stop was at the Barnstormer. The wait time was posted at 20 minutes, but we noticed several young women lining up in what would become the FP line. At that time there was no FP set up for the Barnstormer so we were confused. As we got to the top of the ramp where the 2 lines join up, we asked a CM why the FP line was full of cheerleaders if it wasn’t operational. He told us that it was the line for guests with disabilities, but all of them seemed quite able bodied. It left a bit of a bad taste in our mouths.

But, we got on the ride shortly and Maddie had a fabulous time as usual. By the time we finished it was 8:55. We decided to skip the parade and try to squeeze in some more rides while the other guests would be watching. There was no real line for Winnie the Pooh so we stopped there. We skipped most of the interactive stuff because the line was already past it, but Maddie had a ton of fun playing with the honey wall.

IMG_6168.jpg

IMG_6182.jpg

And getting sillier

IMG_6193.jpg

IMG_6211.jpg

IMG_6216.jpg

Soon enough we were sailing through the Hundred Acre Wood. Believe it or not, it was Maddie’s first experience with the ride (too afraid of the ‘dark rides’ on her first trip), and she loved it.

After we rode we made the mistake of trying to head toward Liberty Square and of course were stopped at the parade route, so we watched the rest of it before splitting up.

IMG_6224.jpg

Bryan and Maddie headed toward the Main Street Train Station to stake out a spot to watch Wishes (and an easy route out once Wishes concluded), and I speed walked toward the Emporium. I made a few last purchases (pajamas and a magnet for me, and a T-shirt for Maddie) and then swam across the sea of bodies to the Confectionary to use up our remaining snack credits. I picked up some Cokes for Bryan and I to have the next morning, and some candy to bring home with us (souvenir for Uncle Cory!!). When I met back up with Bryan and Maddie I found that they’d used the final 2 snack credits to get some popcorn and a frozen lemonade.

IMG_6240.jpg

We settled in on the sidewalk, and as M, M, & Y started I looked over to discover that Maddie was crying. I pulled her into my arms and asked what was wrong. “I just don’t want to leave Mommy”

And so on our last night I watched Wishes holding my little girl, tears falling from both of our eyes. It had been an amazing vacation.

IMG_6254.jpg

The next morning we woke up obscenely early to catch the Notsomagical Express. I felt even worse than I had the day before.

As usual, we were at the airport much earlier than we needed to be so we stopped for doughnuts for breakfast before we went to our gate.

Once we boarded we found ourselves in the very last row of the plane. Maddie and I had 2 seats together, and Bryan was stuck between 2 men across the aisle from us. I was feeling so poorly by then that I was having a very, very hard time staying awake. I dozed off several times before we were allowed to turn our electronic devices back on (Maddie’s DVD player was of utmost importance), and slept fitfully for most of the flight.

I awoke about 15 minutes before we landed, and as luck would have it found myself in the middle of a massive sneezing fit as the plane made its descent. I can honestly say that I’ve very rarely felt such horrible pain as the one I had in my ears after that.

We landed, MiL picked us up, and we made our way back to our old hometown in short order. I slept for 90% of the car ride, and as soon as we got back to town Bryan took me to our hotel (remember, Maddie and I were officially living in a hotel at that point) where I slept for another 4 hours. The cold turned out to be one of the worst I’ve ever had, and I didn’t feel 100% better for almost 2 weeks.

In the weeks to come I’d discover a rather unpleasant side effect from that ill-timed sneezing attack. I experienced bouts of vertigo for a few months afterward. It seems that vertigo is caused by the crystals in the inner ear getting knocked off balance, and I’d rearranged them pretty good when I had my sneezing fit on the plane. (I often wonder what the people sitting in front of me must have been thinking during that flight. Something along the lines of “I really want to Purell that disgusting woman” most likely).

aw! that's so sad! we always feel that way on our last day.
we just can't believe we actually have to go home. and even more amazing, the next day , while we areleaving, iother people are going into the parks, and it is actually continuing on, as always... without us!!! what's up with that?:confused3

so sorry about your terrible cold. how awful. and the vertigo..

did you fly into midway? on southwest? we can never take southwest, as they don't fly into and out of Ohare. but we always get to pick our seats ahead of time.

glas you're finally feeling better!

On this trip we ate at 16 TS restaurants and two quick service. We saw one dinner show, ate at 2 signatures, and enjoyed 8 character meals. We used a total of 42 snack credits, and filled our mugs too many times to count. I did some number crunching and found that we saved over $800 using the DxDP. That many meals isn’t for everyone, but we loved it!

Top Table Service Meals as Ranked by the Shannon Family

Breakfast

1. Tusker House-the food, atmosphere, service, and characters were all amazing

2. ‘Ohana- the food was pretty good, this is mostly due to how much fun we had

3. 1900 Park Fare- this is where we found real bacon and had an amazing visit with Alice

Lunch

1. Via Napoli- excellent food and a cool atmosphere

2. Yak and Yeti- great food, really fun atmosphere, excellent service

3. 50s Prime Time-Bryan puts this one on the list based on the milkshake alone, but we all had fun there.

Dinner

1. California Grill- I can’t be sure what the renovations will bring, but you can be sure we’ll be back. Everything about this meal was perfection.

2. Cinderella’s Royal Table- the food was good, but this one makes the list for the full experience. We had an amazing time.

3. (Bryan’s choices) Cape May for the food and Chef Mickey for the fun

3. (Shannon’s choices) ‘Ohana-I really, really loved that food

Next time we’ll do our best to really meet some characters.

And that, my friends, is the end of the story. I started this TR while Maddie and I were still living in our hotel room, and in the months that have passed we’ve moved to our new town, gotten settled into our new home, new school, new jobs (2 for me), and new routines.

I’d like to thank each and every one of you for not only reading and commenting, but for your friendships along the way. It has meant so much to me to have the chance to tell our story to people who feel the same way about Disney that we do, and to “meet” so many wonderful people in the process. You guys are the real reason that I keep coming back to the DIS. So, thank you-all of you- for being a part of this Trip Report. You guys are the best.

If PTRs are your kind of thing, I’d love to have all of you join me in planning our next adventure. You want to stay where?? A July 2013 PTR.

Thanks again.

aw! that's so sad! we always feel that way on our last day.
we just can't believe we actually have to go home. and even more amazing, the next day , while we areleaving, iother people are going into the parks, and it is actually continuing on, as always... without us!!! what's up with that?:confused3

The last day is awful! I hate thinking that we're still there, but cant' go anymore. I hate it.

It was such a sad, yet sweet little moment with Maddie. I won't forget it for a while.

so sorry about your terrible cold. how awful. and the vertigo..

did you fly into midway? on southwest? we can never take southwest, as they don't fly into and out of Ohare. but we always get to pick our seats ahead of time.

glas you're finally feeling better!

We did fly Southwest, but with everything going on leading up to the trip, I forgot to get us checked in ahead of time, hence the horrible seats. I won't make that mistake again!

The vertigo was something else. For a while I just thought my blood sugar was really low. And, we were staying in a hotel, which meant elevators. For about 30 minutes after we got off the elevator, I still felt like I was moving. It was crazy!

Thank you! She's still in love with that dress.

We have so much fun at Chef Mickey, and Donald's missing had really added some fun for us this time.

Maddie doesn't know yet. Her birthday is this week, and we're going to tell her on her birthday.

Aw that's so exciting! What day is her birthday?

Her birthday is Tuesday. We did American Girl today, are having a party for family tomorrow, and on Tuesday we'll give her a few presents from us and tell her about the trip! I think she's going to go crazy.

While all of Maddie's pictures are absolutely adorable, this might just be my favorite! What a precious moment.

Aw what a sweet moment during Wishes. That's just about how I feel during it too. So happy but so sad that it has to end at the same time.

Oh no:( what are the chances with the vertigo?? How terrible and painful. I'm glad you are recovered now!

LOVE the list of characters met! :rotfl2: I can't wait to see if you top it next time!

You guys certainly made out well with the DxDP. $800 is no small savings! And how amazing to get to have so many different dining experiences-- for you guys and for Maddie.

So sad that your TR is over. It was certainly a fantastic one, so glad I found it! But I'm excited for your PTR and seeing what this next adventure has in store for you!pixiedust:

Thank you-that's one of my favorites too.

The vertigo was crazy. I thought I was loosing my mind.

Hopefully next trip we'll be able to really buckle down and meet some characters. We're such slackers. :rotfl2:

We loved doing DxDP! We saved a huge amount, and you're exactly right-we loved all of the different experiences it afforded us.

Thanks for the kind words, and for joining in. I feel so lucky to have made so many new Disney friends through this TR!

Ahhh we share the same birthday! A few years apart with some similar traits :rotfl2: Maybe it's an Aquarius thing:rotfl:

What amazing birthday celebrations! She must've loved American Girl and I can't wait to hear about her reaction to the next trip!

Happy early birthday to Maddie!:wizard:

Oh Wow! How wild! Happy early Birthday to you too!! My mom's birthday is the 4th. Lots to celebrate this week.!
I'll share some AG and birthday pics in the PTR

I love Maddie's dresses, especially this last one! Sounds like a fun last night. So sorry you were so sick, but glad it held off until the end of your trip.

That last picture of you and Maddie watching the fireworks did me in....I had to get a kleenex! Just reading about the way you felt brings me right back to our "last days" ...I always get so angry with myself that I concentrate more on leaving than enjoying the moment. I can't help it tho it jsut makes me so sad!

I am off to sub to your new PTR! Thank you again for an amazingly awesome TR that many days made my day! Thank you:hug:

What a bitter-sweet ending, watching Wishes holding your daughter, both of you with tears in your eyes! I cried too watching Wishes on our last night, but for different a different reason (but that's a story for later).

I see you guys have been slacking off in the character department. You're going to have to do better next time... :lmao:

It's awesome that Maddie can talk to the characters like that. I suspect that at school the teachers will simultaneously find her adorable, and want to pull their hair off trying to get her to stop chatting. :rotfl: I can imagine the conversation in the staff room : "That little Maddie in my class is so cute! Sometimes though I have to bite my lips not to laugh with the things she says. She's so funny, but the middle of math class is not the best time to say...". ;)

We love it.

No, usually free shipping is only for the us. :( Of course they would have the Mulan costume now! Isn't that always the case?
