No new requests ***Cruise Magnet Graphics and Links Part 8!***

Hoping someone might have a solution to this problem I'm encountering!

I'm printing on magnet paper that I ordered online. I discovered when I was cutting them out that some of the color, especially the black, seems to be wiping off! :crazy2: After all this work, it is frustrating that this is happening! Does anyone know if you can seal these things, or any suggestions besides buying different magnet paper? :scratchin

You need to set the printer setting to glossy paper. If you don't it will rub off. Hope it helps. :)

ETA: I read somewhere that you can spray them with hairspray? Maybe give that a try, a fine mist. Or you can laminate just the tops of the magnets with laminating sheets.

Milliepie - I wanted to share this story with you so you know what joy you bring to others with your work. You designed a few things for our upcoming cruise in March. My MIL has never sailed with Disney and was not aware that passengers place magnets on their stateroom doors. Last night I surprised her with the magnets I made with your creations. She was so touched that she cried! She couldn't believe you would do that for total strangers you will never meet. Thank you for spreading Pixie Dust on her!
As a side note, if you get a chance to check out that problem I'm having with the Autism ribbon, I would appreciate it. I want to use it if I can get it to print. Thanks so much again for everything!

If you don't mind sending me a pm with your email address and the file name of the exact one you were wanting, i can send it to you that way. It will probably be the best way to get it to work. :)

BTW, I'm so glad I could help make your Mom happy. It's my favorite thing to do. ;)

You were kind enough to make a Mary Poppins Mickey head for my intern birthdays Feb 15th, and you noted you would do the other one I needed - the White Rabbit. I just want to be sure I didn't miss it. I checked your Photobucket but sometimes the Mickey Head file doesn't come up on the left when the other files are there - maybe because there are a lot of files under Mickey Head and takes a long time to become visible.

I hope all is going well.

Thanks,
Liza
I was hoping to do it this weekend. Probably tomorrow, it's been busy today and I still have run a few more errands today. :) I'll message you when it's done.

Just a quick question- does anyone have a link to some images that are the Disney characters as cupcakes? It's my favorite set of Disney pins and I would love to make some magnets out of them.

Thank you!

There is a thread on the DISign forum that has them. If you can't find it, ask there and someone should know. :)

I got everything working this morning, thanks to everyone here, and I made tshirts and the came out GREAT. I took pictures and will post once I get them downloaded.

Thanks everyone.

Linda

Awesome. Glad you figured it all out. Can't wait to see the pics. :)

Dumb question, but how do you switch between versions?

When I log into the new Photobucket there is a tab in the top right hand corner that says "Switch Back to Original Photobucket". It looks like you have to be signed in for that link to show up. Problem is that I can't seem to figure out how to download from the original one. Anyone have the answer?

The older version is way better! Just discovered this myself today. Click on the image you like. Hover your mouse in the upper left of the image. There will be a pop up that shows download as an option. Good luck!

Millie, thanks, I will try the glossy setting! And hairspray...can't hurt, they're already a waste for sure, maybe I can salvage some...

Thanks Millie! The glossy setting was the solution, I'm just going to reprint. Glad I bought the pack of 20 sheets :lmao:

In regards to my request, #3610, of thread 7, I have good news! Once I figured out how to go to the older version of Photobucket, I was able to do many of the things I'd asked you to do myself! :cool1: Obviously couldn't do them without you! But, there were still a couple things from my request that I couldn't do, if you could do them and disregard the rest, I would be really grateful!

From my old request:

"Name fill: beachfill Chriss

Boarding Passes--can you do one for each, 7 different passengers? If so, Dave, Chriss, Erin, Dan, Tammy, Lily, Noah...if not, I totally understand!
top-WDW, departure Detroit, destination Orlando, Feb. 15, 2013
middle-DCL passenger, departure Port Canaveral, Feb 16-23, 2013, destination Western Caribbean
bottom- name cutout Fantasy"

Actually, I found the Fantasy Boarding Pass Trio blank that you had on Photobucket. I had seen where you did the Trio with WDW on top, Fantasy Boarding Pass in the middle, and Fantasy cutout on the bottom. If you have a blank of that trio, I could do all the names and dates on my own. If you can get just those two things to me before we leave, I would be forever grateful! :flower3:

Thanks so much for all your help!
~Chriss

I echo my thanks to Millie! I've used several of your designs and have customized them for myself (& only for myself, I promise).

Chriss -
Is your magnetic sheet actually glossy? Mine isn't, and I selected "matte photo paper - quality high" and it seemed to come out fine and doesn't run/smear but I haven't cut it out yet. Just wondering if I should try glossy on my next page. :scratchin Glad that the setting change worked for you! I only bought 5 pages, so don't really want to waste any!

May need to order more because it's really addictive making these for the door!

I have seen this asked before but I don't recall seeing the answer. What font is used for the boat names, specifically the Magic?

Hi! Yes, my magnet sheets are glossy. And they have turned out so beautiful! It certainly is addictive...DD9 wants to make some now too! DH keeps saying aren't you going to run out of room?! Of course not, we say! (we have no idea, this is our first Disney cruise) :rotfl2:

Not wanting to encourage your addiction, but.... we changed the magnets on our door every day. People kept stopping by to see what crazy thing I put up next, lol. Doing that means lots of magnets! :thumbsup2

Wow! :goodvibes I think I will have to hold off on that trick until the next cruise! ;) We do have a few magnets that are specific to ports, and we will wait to put them up until the day we go to those ports. Mostly I don't think I can do it this time because I am making magnets for our room AND my cousin and her family's room. She just isn't a DISer (unbelievable, eh?) and I know she won't do it. And, I don't want her poor children scarred for life because my DD has magnets and they don't. :rotfl2: But, it is a definite idea for next year! Oh wait...I'll have to do two doors then too...aaaaaaaahhhhh!!!! :scared1: I'll have more time and expereince, I am up for the challenge!

Hi Millie,

Do you know what page you're working on from the previous thread? I'm trying to find someone to make these name tags that I had last year and I think it's you but not entirely sure.

Thanks!

I took a look at your post on the last thread. I am on 3201, but I mad a note you need them soon. Here is a link to my blank Nametags. Not sure if the ones you were looking for were mine. If so let me know if you filled them out or still need them. Thanks. :)

ETA: Now that I think about it, is this the one you were describing?

Added: Is this the football Mickey you were looking for?

Hi! I have been searching your photobucket for magnets and things for our first ever cruise in less than a month! I can't believe I only have a month to plan! I saw you had an "On our way" for flying but I was wondering if you had one for driving? Thank you so much!:thanks:

Millipie-

It just occurred to me to ask you...I made a request back in Thread Part 7. Should I look for the designs in Thread Part 8?

Thanks. :goodvibes

I will no longer be filling requests on this thread. After I catch up with my current requests I will start my own thread to avoid confusion. If you are waiting for a request from me, I will send you an email or private message with the completed images.

Awesome. Glad you figured it all out. Can't wait to see the pics. :)

Here are some pictures of the tshirts I made this weekend. I wanted to get these two done this weekend because Saturday was my girlfriends husbands birthday and I wanted to give them their shirts this weekend.

I think they came out great and they loved them. Now I can work on the others at not such a break-neck pace.

This is my DH holding up a shirt so you can see the placement.

I loved doing the shirts and they loved them. I need to make 10 shirts - they will all be with the life preservers, the name of the ship, the DCL logo and the 2013 date. I am having fun finding Disney clip art that represents the person I am making the shirt for, and then I am putting in their names.

Thanks to everyone here for all their help and hope everyone puts in pictures of what they have made. It makes it so much fun to look.

Linda

Linda...those look great!

What brand transfer paper did you use?

I'm new to the transfer/iron on thing and I have no idea which to buy. I went to Joann's and kinda just picked up whatever they had.
