Top 3 sad songs

My top 3 sad songs would be

1. Slip sliding away by Paul Simon
2 wish you were here by pink Floyd
3 Aubrey. By bread

Nathan Osmond's "I'm Right Here". I tried to post a link, but it won't work. He sings it on youtube. It's from a poem a friend of mine wrote about her 12 year old daughter Lucy, who passed away from cancer complications.

Maybe they meant the Jeff Buckley version was the saddest??? Being that Jeff Buckley referred to the song as an ode to the orgasm not sure I'd put it on the sad list. Lol

Lolol

1) Johnny Cash: Hurt (love NIN, but this version is so haunting)
2) The Smiths: Last Night I Dreamt that Somebody Loved Me
3) Portishead: Over

1. I'm Movin' On - Rascal Flats ("I never dreamed home would end up where I don't belong..." gotta be the saddest thought one could have)

2. I Remember When You Were Mine - Dixie Chicks

3. He Stopped Loving Her Today - George Jones

DH added "The Dance" by Garth Brooks.

Steve Wariner. I always tear up when I hear it, but i can't not listen to it if its on the radio

Where Oh Where Can My Baby Be
Tears In Heaven
Cats In The Cradle

I'm telling you all - if you think Tears in Heaven is sad, do not listen to the Nathan Osmond song "I'm Right Here". I cry my way through both of them.

If i hear either of these songs i have to turn the station. I can't get through either on with out sobbing.

He Ain't Heavy (He's My Brother)

Agree on When Somebody Loves Me (Sang it to Jesse once at WDW - my kids were mortified! Jessie "wiped her tears" away and hugged me. :rotfl2: )

See You In September

This Used To Be My Playground (Madonna, plays at the end of A League of Their Own and gets me every time)

Most recently Stairway to Heaven by Heart

I'm sure I could think of lots more...

Travelin' Soldier by The Dixie Chicks. That one makes me hysterical every single time I hear it, no matter where.

Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce and Seasons in the Sun for sure.

This was one of "our" songs when DH was in Viet Nam. It only became sad to me when Jim Croce died. Don't really care for Seasons in the Sun.
