Not from the list, but my favourites....

3. Tears -Rush
2. In Your Eyes -Peter Gabriel
1. Pictures of You - The Cure

1. Wildfire
2. Eleanor Rigby
3. Sounds of Silence/Only the Lonely/My Immortal

Tears in Heaven (Eric Clapton)...saddest song ever. IMO

1. Where, Oh, Where Can My Baby Be? by the Caveliers
2. Ebony Eyes by the Everly Bros.
3. Leader of the Pack by the Shangri-las

Whiskey Lullaby (Brad Paisley and Allison Krauss)
Honey (Bobby Goldsboro)
Skin (Rascal Flatts)

I realize these are a bit obscure to many, but....

1. Idiot Wind=Bob Dylan
2. Black Muddy River=Grateful Dead
3. Ruby's Arms=Tom Waits

I agree with this one as well, especially since didn't he write it for his little son who tragically passed?

Conor Clapton died in 1991, after falling from the 53rd-floor window of a New York apartment. He was four years old.

Clapton stopped performing the song in 2004.

Cats in the cradle
I'll be true to you - The Oak Ridge Boys
Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

The wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald it makes me sob. Tim mcgraw: live like you were dying. And lightning crashes.

Most will never have heard of this one since she's not known, but even my niece calls it a sad song "September Song" by Rachel Potter gets me when I hear it. The 9/11 remake of Heaven with the little girl talking tears me up too.

Yeah, HONEY is the worst. I can't listen to it at all. :sad2:

Bette Midler's The Rose, especially if you watch the movie.
