Thanks!! Was there a particular time of day you found the rooms to be the most empty?

Every time we went by it was empty. Not only did we go during September (low crowds) but also as Andre said there are many of them so no one congregates all at the same one.

Did laundry back in 2010 and no one else was there intell we picked up the last of are laundry. Staying here again in June and have do laundry again.

All of the water (pool) view Royal Rooms are excellent locations, that single Water View room in Parterre is actually probably about the best of all in fact. I think I would just leave it to chance requests-wise though, unless you want a particular floor.

The pathways link across everywhere, and there are many access points which go from the room external walkways onto the main paths - you quite literally take a couple of steps away from Parterre and you're right there at the bridge. Honestly, it really is just a few steps.

Thanks Andre for taking the time to answer my question! :thumbsup2 We are really looking forward to this stay!

I did our laundry a couple of nights ago around 7:30, and only saw one other person. I was actually impressed we only needed the one 30 min cycle to dry our clothes...

One of the advantages to there being five laundry rooms at POR (one beside each quiet pool) is that they are rarely crowded, and you can just sit out by the pool or take a dip while your clothes wash themselves. Washing really doesn't get much easier.

Andre

Thanks everyone!!!

As has been said, Oak and Parterre are all Royal Rooms, so yes a request for Magnolia Terrace would generally give you the most centrally located rooms - although to be fair there are some great ones in Acadian too. Maybe just request "mansion building, as close to the Ol' Man Island bridge as possible" rather than asking for a particular building?

Andre

Fabulous! Thanks for the advice!

I wanted to second (or third, I guess?) these comments! Having been a regular, knowledgable person on another resort FAQ thread I know how hard it can be sometimes when people keep asking the SAME questions over and over, but with threads sooooooo long, it's hard sometimes to find all that old info and it's easier to ask, I get it :) It's so nice on this thread how everyone is SO kind and helpful and answers every question so nicely, even if it's already been asked 100 times! :thumbsup2

Wow someone got thanked for backing up my original response. Oh well bad day at work for me. Hope everyone elses day is better.

I have always rented a car for Disney. We do room only so no ME, we often go off site to shop (some outlets not by me back home), do an attraction off site, or eat out for a break. I use disney transportation on site except Resort ADR's. It really is easier to drive to a resort than shuffle on 2 to 3 buses/boats/monorail. I do other vacations without a rental but at Disney it just works better.

Room only ressies still get ME if they wish. Not sure if you were saying they didn't or not, but just in case.

I know they offered it to me in the past, but I often need up until close to vacation time to change things and in the past if you were using ME they treated it like a package with the payment due at 45 days and not a RO with up till 5 days to cancel with no penalty. Has that changed?

I'd probably still rent a car though.

WOW!!!!!:yay: Loving this thread. Venom, you seem to have all the answers!!!!!

Booked another trip to the Mousehouse for May with DH and DD (21) princess: who will be graduating, cum laude, from college a week or two before our trip.

Have read this entire thread and have gotten so much information about POR. We are really looking forward to our visit; the pictures of the property look beautiful and so serene.

Venom, I did make a request for the mansion buildings when I made my reservation. I'd like to also fax a request prior to arrival. Would you kindly PM me with the proper fax information so that I can do this. My DD is so excited (even at her age) and really wants to stay in the mansion buildings so I want to do everything I can to try and have the request granted pixiedust:.

Looking forward to following the thread until our trip to stay up on what's happening.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Yes, if that used to be the case, it has definitely changed. As long as you have a resort reservation - package or room-only - you can get ME. If it's last minute, you don't even need a voucher or ME luggage tags. Simply go to the ME counter, give them your resort reservation number and your luggage claim tickets. They will put you on a bus to your resort AND pick up your luggage for you. You could make a reservation the night before you arrive and STILL get ME. It's super simple!

I had to go and make sure it wasn't me! You do a very good job of answering questions here as well! In fact I was 99% sure that it would be either you or Andre answering my question as you are both equally fabulous and knowledgable.

Oh no not you lol. Better now I am off. Heading home.

Hope your night got better, Venomhatch, for all you do to help all of us, you deserve only great days! ( You too Andre, the map-maker extraordinaire! :)

Also, thanks to all who replied with car rental advice and opinions...I'm definitely leaning toward renting a car from what I read, especially since we will be arriving in Orlando near midnight!

Aaahhhhh, 3 more weeks today and we will be at POR.

Perhaps sipping on a coctail by the hot tub? Maybe enjoying the YeeHa Bob show? Or a romantic carriage ride? Hmmmm, who knows.

I can't concentrate at work ...... three ..... more ...... weeks .....
