Need HELP... Ticket voucher has wrong travel dates

I have looked at the site even more closely. There are 2 advertisements to click on for their special on DW tickets. The first is toward the top and if you click on that one and scroll to the bottom the date selection is clearly there.

The link I was using was toward the bottom of the page

I attempted to post both links but since I have less than 10 posts on this site , it's not allowed.

It is not as clear. The eye is drawn to to green writing and once selecting at the bottom where the other page clearly has a date selection, it is not there. And my eye was drawn to expires March 31st.
So although it may be there it is not as clearly marked and obvious as the first link I posted. And if you move on to the next page it again draws the eye to the green bold type of the 5 day special. I am saying the site was not set up as nicely as the first I posted in this link and had I clicked on that I wouldn't even be in this position. I originally posted here as this is where the "experts" are and thought someone may have some knowledge about this. I didn't come here for people to say I did it wrong. I see it's there now. But I also feel I wasn't prompted to select any dates to begin with and as you "experts" are aware or would think you would be, if I had purchased tickets through more commonly used Undercover Tourist Or the Disney site itself, there are no dates to select A ticket is a ticket on those sites. I wasn't aware Expedia was different and don't feel the site was user friendly in prompting me to.

I also posted here to help others in the future that may run into the same problem. I appreciate all who have tried to help with suggestions to fix the problem so that I may use the tickets. Thank You.

Here are the links since you can't post them yet.
This first one has a spot for you to specify dates.
http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll?qscr=tsdt&stat=5&flgc=0&loid=178294&ofid=13887&wtid=28&nojs=1&mcicid=197337443

This one is the one I assume you clicked on. The dates are pre-selected.
http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll?qscr=tsdt&stat=5&flgc=0&loid=178294&ofid=13887&sdat=1/25/2013&edat=2/1/2013&wtid=28&nojs=1&mcicid=197328316

I would contact Expedia. Point out the difference between the two links, and see if they can't do anything. Ask to speak with a supervisor or manager if necessary. I wish you luck.

OP: I really hope they work with you on this. It really is, as another poster said, a typo that you immediately tried to correct. Good Luck!

I got burned big time through Travelocity and will never use any of the 3rd party sites again. Even though the company or airline you are flying with/going to is reputable, they will claim that your contract is with the 3rd party, not them. And my experience with Travelocity showed me that they are not willing to provide any customer service whatsoever.

I had gone to the first link. FWIW, the dates are also already filled out in that one, but it is more obvious you can change the dates. In the second link, maybe it's because I'm subconsciously looking for it, just above where you choose the "5 for 3" deal is a section (highlighted in tan) for "Trip Dates: xx/xx/xxx - xx/xx/xxx" and a link to "Select New Trip dates". Also, when you continue on that page, and you see the "receipt" page, under the "5 for 3" description is a line "Usable from: 1/25/2013 to 2/1/2013".

Yes, maybe the design could have been better. But the information is there. It's not in white type on a white background, it's not in super small text. It is worth calling Expedia and pleading your case, but I don't think it's a "slam dunk" that they will change the voucher or give you a refund.

You might be able to contact your credit card company and see if they'll challenge the item (or whatever they do), but you agreed to purchase the vouchers which are listed as "non refundable", so I don't know how far that will go either.

Reviewing both links I can see how it is easy to miss the dates that are prefilled in the second link. Good luck trying to get it fixed.

I completely would have missed the dates using the second link. Hope it all works out for you OP.

Wow - I was even LOOKING for the dates in the second link and I totally missed that. Just looks like you're buying a voucher that will expire on 3/31/13. Using that first link, there's no way to buy the tickets until you specify dates. Totally different story.

Good luck. I do hope Expedia works with you on this. If not, contest the charge with the credit card - eat the $30 if you have to - and, IMHO, I'd never use Expedia again. Print out both pages to help back you up with showing how crazy easy it is to not notice the dates.

I have an update on this. I spoke again with Expedia and I'm actually not sure what made them listen but they are refunding the vouchers. They were very nice and apologized for my being told it was Disney's fault they couldn't change them due to the contract. Disney doesn't have access to the reservation until 2 days before the voucher date. I knew that already from Disney myself, but apparently it was confirmed.

He said they couldn't change the dates, as there system doesn't allow it. What he could do was back out the transaction and refund it. Which he did. He also was willing to rebook them but I couldn't rebook them until the refund was posted to the account. I thanked him for all he has done to correct the problem but wanted to show him why the error had been made. I walked him through the two links and he said he could see how it would happen. He then told me he would report it to get it changed. I checked it before my reply here and so far no change. I hope they do consider changing it but it may take more issues before they realize it's a problem. I really think it was likely refunded only because of the CSR's blaming Disney for their inability to fix the vouchers. Not sure, but that's what I got. For whatever reason it was refunded, I am most grateful that they did make it right and we will be able to go on our planned trip with out the stress of a tighter budget than anticipated.

Thank You all who were here to offer suggestions and support! This has been taken care of! Thank You Expedia for deciding to make this right!

I am so pleased you got this sorted out and thanks for the update. Hope you have a great time :thumbsup2

OP, I am glad this worked out for you. When I use the links, it won't even allow me to change the dates at all, so I would have had the same problem if I bought them. Pretty poor layout on the sight.

ETA- I wouldn't have looked for dates because with any other site, it wouldn't matter when I was using the actual tickets so long as prior to 3/31

Thanks for updating! I'm very glad this worked out for you. :goodvibes
