Can someone tell me how the DME works exactly? I have tried to read the stickys but they still don't answer my question. I know that they have our flight number coming into Orlando, are we then supposed to be down there in a certain amount of time? We get into MCO at about 7:00 PM I thought that we should grab some food at the airport before heading off to the hotel. Do we need to be fast about it? Also on deparature day our plane leaves at about 5:30 PM. I thought it would be nice to spend the morning in MK. Will the DME expect to pick us up at a certain time to take us back to the airport? Do we need to make a reservation to be taken to the airport? Also, what are your thoughts about doing MK again on the last day?

ME will pick you up about 3 hours before, so 2:30. Make sure they have your departure flight info.

Happy to have you join us. Our very first trip was in 2007 and I joined the DIS about six months before that. Everything I knew about WDW I learned on the DIS. (My dh got tired of hearing me say, "On the DIS someone said . . ." :rotfl2: )

Um, yeah, I have been doing that a lot already,.LOL

so i talked the kids into having Disney Movie Night every weekend of the winter. it was hard convincing them that it should only be Disney movies. they kept trying to add in non- Disney movies and i kept nixing them, lol. i had to come up with an explanation so i said we needed to watch all the movies to see if we still like Disney and if we do then we can think about planning another trip. ODS was like "we dont have to like the movies to like the rides! of course we still love Disney World!" Be quiet, kid, and just roll with my plan, lol. i then had to break out the big guns to seal the Weekly Movie Night deal --- junk food. i dont normally buy it but i said every week they can request a special snack for movie night. NOW theyre on board, lol. i had them go through a list of all the movies and pick all their favorites which i wrote on scraps of paper and put into a jar and we picked our first one for tonight - Alice in Wonderland. i havent watched that in years; that is one messed up movie, lol.

anyways, i lioved the easter egg reveal I had planned but since i dontthink i can hold out ' til easter, i want to come up with another fun way to tell them.

I'm chopping at the bit to tell my kids too! Trying to hold out until Valentines day to give them a countdown chain with 50 links.

Make a dvd with pics from your previous Disney trip, maybe set it to music and and at the end of it you could say "WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY APRIL " and you could pop it in the dvd player on Disney movie night! :thumbsup2

i was thinking of revealing on valentines as well and doing one of those chains as well. maybe not with the facts though, thats a lot of work. lol.

i was just looking at the reburb list and got to march and saw splash mtn.and had a little heart attqck that it might extend into april, but looks like we' re ok. thats ods' all time favorite ride.

I saw that splash mtn is down for refurbishment now on my "my Disney experience" app... Haven't been in 16 years that ride BETTER be working by April!!!! Lol

Am I double digits yet or what????? Also, am I the only one who isn't paid in full yet ? We do final payment with income tax return. Ugh. iyt drives me crazy until it's paid though.

Ugh! Did you see where income tax refunds will likely be delayed this year... You might want to make alternate plans. :worried:

On another note, the new website finally reflects all of my reservations!!! It's a miracle!!!! :worship:

our Pay in Full date is like 2/27.....and that's probably about when I'll make the final payment, lol. Hey, we're paycheck-to-paycheck over here, lol. :rolleyes1

On a positive note, soon all our tickers will say "2 months and......." :dance3:
I need to get working on my Touring pLans!

We have to make our final payment on 3/4, but we'll be putting it on the Disney Visa and taking advantage of the 6-months financing. So we won't be truly paid in full until the end of summer!

And I keep using the boards on my phone, where I can't see my siggy/ticker. So I haven't seen my countdown in days, sigh.

If income tax returns are going to be held up, The Disney Visa will be my back up plan. I would really hate to do it though, since we are credit card and debt free.....gotta get to Disney though. Lol

I'm happy to share my chain link facts/quotes. Just pm me your email address and I'll send it to you.

Does anybody regularly go down in April?! We're going April 18-24. Just wondering what kind of weather to expect...

In the past we've always used our refund for vacation too. Unfortunately, this year (for the first time in a decade) we are going to owe money on taxes instead :( But, DH has a large bonus from work coming in July, so I'm not at all worried about getting it paid off. It made more sense to go ahead and go in the spring instead of waiting until summer when it's hot, or fall when it's a LOT more expensive (since the kids will turn 10 and 3 in Aug/Sep).

BTW... just got an email from TouringPlans, the crowd levels for end of April have all dropped by at least a point or two!!! Most days are now 4-5 instead of 6-7. I'll take that!!!

I think the smaller crowds are going to be a shock to our systems! We usually go during some of the busiest times during the year. I am so excited!!!

We booked room-only, so we won't make our final payment until we check in.

We were there in 2009 and the weather was nice. If anything, I thought it was a bit warmer than I expected.

We booked room only for the 1st time (usually do package), but ironically I actually paid this off even before the package payment would have been due....I'm so anal/OCD about having balances due, I couldn't handle it anymore and had to pay it off. :lmao:

we went last april. its def. much warmer than i like. i' d prefer to go feb. vacation but wont deal with the presidents day crowds, so april it will be.
