Now things I'd like to comment on in no particular order...........

I agree with you taking the plans to the house down too many 'eyes' on the www
I was horrified to discover that if anyone googled my Dd & sil name [they are both Majors USMC you can see their whole lives every promotion pay grades marathon triathalon standung even their home adress & what they paid :sad2: way TMI and all this just by knowing a name ! so everyone be careful please :grouphug:

:confused3 so I finally checked it out and Merry Christmas to me 'met' a very nice man from Ukraine talk about needing a map bought a WDP windup wristwatch from him with Pluto only on the face of the watch ! Sorry Pluto girl on here best n
ews is he had it listed for $69...........a steal for an older working WDP watch but the seller had put in the fine print he would entertain other offers so being newly registred with no PayPal account I did the only thing I could possibly do.......I sent him a note offering $55 :-)
my watch will be here in about 2 weeks

being an Italian from New York and loving the Godfather movies I was sure he wouldn't refuse

As a kid, sometimes I would read the comics in the paper and not "get" them. When I'd ask my mother to explain she always said if you have to explain it, it's not funny. That's my introduction to saying I don't "get" Nightmare Before Christmas. If anyone wants to offer an explanation, I'm listening, but I have a feeling it's like my mother said, if you gon't get it, you don't get it.

BUT, I do get your bag. I recognize the boney guy and the doggie, but couldn't tell you their names or what their claim to fame is. Great job with the bag and accessories!

Really, it's a Jack Skellington UPB, but I just felt like confusing you all. :upsidedow The coolest part, for me anyways, is that this if my first bag being sent to Europe. :thumbsup2 And this bag is the very reason I requested a WORLD map for my sewing room for Christmas, because I cannot forget to put a pin across the pond. :cool1:

I love this bag... I really do!

The person who ordered this bag gave me 3 themes to choose from. As of now, she still does not know the theme I chose. I LOVE this, and it was so much fun to "pick".

I stumbled upon this fabric several months ago, and I built the entire bag around it, it's just so perfect! I have several "favorite parts" of this bag... First - I love Remy's fur. Second - I love the ruffle. And third - I love the applique on the wallet.

It's just really a great bag and I had so much fun making it!

IMG_9380-1.jpg

D~

Awww, it's Remy.

Now that's a movie I've seen a few times, probably because it takes place in Paris. The lining fabric is perfect and I love how you always capture a unique expression on each face.

We discovered that MM has more gifts under the tree than all of us combined. :confused3

That is just too funny!

Yes, I am quoting myself. ::yes::

:rotfl2: What, we aren't keeping your PTR going fast enough, you have to talk to yourself now too??

I hope V gets better soon and that she doesn't pass it along to everyone. Bradey is coming down with a cold today too. By the way things have gone around this house in the past, it will go to Bill first, then me...so that will put me at just about Christmas :sad2:

On the menu planning topic....I try to be organized...just doesn't work very well. I like to try new recipes each week, and all the planning tools I have seen are for existing recipes. I have to do some more research. I did find a cool grocery shopping app for my phone that if I could ever get the time to upload all my recipes would be great. You can make up a calendar of what you want to eat for the week and it makes a shopping list for you. It's called Food Planner in the Google Play store. Once I can get all the recipes I want uploaded, it will be awesome!

I am so excited for our MOA trip! With the hotel and flights booked, I can officially make a countdown for it....can't wait to meet you and Mo! It's gonna be so much fun.

I'm glad you had a productive weekend! Bummer that V is sick, I'll keep my fingers crossed that it stops with her.

I didn't even get on my computer this weekend let alone make it on the DIS (well other than to peek at Facebook really quickly to see the photos you posted). I finished up Christmas shopping, wrapped most of my gifts and did some baking for my work Christmas party that is tomorrow. So far I've made two batches of brownies and two batches of Double Chocolate cookies. One more batch of Chocolate Chip tonight and I will finally be done!

I'm looking forward to seeing the new custom bag and also your auction items. I'm just hoping they are not Pluto items because I really don't need the temptation right now!

All of your Christmas baking sounds wonderful! I am trying so hard not to eat any more junk - I've been on a junk rampage since Thanksgiving, and my jeans are getting tight. Sigh.

You are safe, no Pluto this time. :thumbsup2

sorry haven't been around for a few days...

sorry V is sick, hope she better soon and doesn't share!

happy belated anniversary!

sounds like a fun birthday weekend!

MM sounds like a lucky little pup!

It's OK - thanks for stopping by Lisa! Thank you!

I hope V gets better soon and that you don't catch what ever she has. Fingers crossed

A Birthdaytrip with som DIS friends sounds great.
Menu planning is a great way to save money by not having to go to the store so often. I plan what I will have to dinner for one week. It is great not having to think about what to have for dinner everyday

The bag looks amazing. I love the Remy's fur. The wallet is so cute The fabric inside the bag fits so well with the theme of the bag.

I am looking forward to the birthday trip - even though, for me, it's only about 30 miles. LOL ;)

Thanks for your meal planning ideas, this weeks seems to be going so much smoother already, just because I know what I am making and I have everything on hand. I need to make this part of my routine.

And thanks for the compliments on the Remy bag... He is so cute. IMO.

IN LOVE WITH THIS BAG...seriously!!! LOVE the colors, love the applique on the zip wallet, love the zipper pull....PERFECTION!!!!

Hmmmm...I love the idea of giving you several themes to choose from, so that when it comes it will be a surpise! I just :lovestruc surprises!!! Of course, I probably stalk this thread and your FB page too much to be TOO surprised.

SO stinkin' jealous of your MOA Dismeet weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!! Three of my favorite Disfriends getting together for a weekend of fun without me. Very happy for the three of you, though...really I am...

Thanks Oopsi! LOL about the several themes to choose from... I love that too, because it gives me free reign to choose something that speaks to me. Oh - no worries, I won't post yours anywhere until you get it. :rotfl2:

I hope you can find a way to come... We have just enough room at the hotel for one more. :thumbsup2

Love the new bag! The colors are gorgeous and I love the material inside. The wallet is just too cute! My DHs favorite character is Donald but his favorite Disney movie is Ratatouille. If the movie on TV, we are watching it!

Thanks! I know, it's a super cute movie!

LOVE your birthday weekend plans in May. Sounds like fun.

CUTE bag...but aren't they all cute? If I was a bag person I'd totally want one...but I'm really not so I will just admire from afar!

Thanks! LOL I totally get that you aren't a bag person, I won't hold it against you - I promise. ::yes::

:cool1::cheer2:
Can't wait!!! :grouphug:.I hope it all works out!!!

Me too!

I love the new bag!! Awesome job!

Thanks Ruth - I am so glad you like it!

I pretty much unplugged too since the tragic news about Connecticut

This is just great advise for everyone in general. I know, I need to remind myself often.

hope V feels better and no one else gets sick

Thank you... My crabby girl went to school this morning... She was very angry that she had to get up at 5:30 - which is the normal time around here, so I have no idea why today was any different than any other day? :confused3

wonderful for the birthday Dismeet in May I will be meeting Ruth [ restraz] in Feb when she comes to WDW I have met a few Dissers mostly local but met a great friend frim Australia frm the Dis she will be here again Oct 2013 hope same dates as you D

Awesome!!! I hope you'll post pictures when you two meet... If only the other Ruth was going to be there at the same time... I would have pictures of Ruth, Ruth and Ruthie. :thumbsup2

love MM snow I have awesome pics of my furbabies including my horse in the snow when we were new yorkers do I miss the snow ? heck no ! but I am glad I kept the horses blanket & the dogs coats have used them many times since 2008 when we moved here.

Wow! You wouldn't think you would need them that much in FL?

Christmas stockings-I prefer the traditionsl shaped ones
Tree Skirt-very much like the idea of signatures and written messages but on the reverse side

I am glad you like my idea... I might just end up making double stockings for everyone... I will see how my year goes. LOL

Etsy is awesome! I just love it. I've managed to move most of my business to online only, and Etsy is a HUGE part of that. I always try to support the little guy, and I have NEVER had a bad transaction on Etsy - everyone is super helpful all the time.

Congrats on your watch - I hope you'll post pictures when you get it.

Ruth and Ruthie posting same time :rotfl: that will drive everyine crazy

That is just too funny!
What, we aren't keeping your PTR going fast enough, you have to talk to yourself now too??

There's no sham in that, is there?

**********************************************************

Yesterday was a great day in my sewing room! Rather than work on V's gift while V was home sick. I opted to work on a "prototype bag" which happens to be Alli's gift. :thumbsup2 I was able to get the whole thing quilted - which was no small task, and I was also able to start the very beginning of assembly. Since she is not getting an applique - this bag will be very easy. It also gives me a chance to really see how many hours go into this bag, since I price my appliques seperately. :thumbsup2 I hope to be done with it this afternoon.

Then, V and I decided to get our AGs all dressed up in their holiday finery - that was FUN! We have not dressed our dolls for Christmas in 2 years... And it's been since I went to the MCM sale in WI this summer since we have changed any of them. Which is so sad, because it's something we've always enjoyed doing together. Alli had no interest at all, so we had to change her dolls ourselves.

We used to pose them in the livingroom, Rufus never bothered them. However - I don't trust MM yet, so They will just stay on their regular shelf this year. Maybe next year we will set up a display with them elsewhere.

Hopefully I don't get a lot of comments about how big our AG collection is - I don't usually share pictures of it - because then I have to justify why we have so many... Here's the break down... The girls actively collected for 6 years. They each received only one doll per year, for Christmas. V has 8 dolls (she purchased 2 with her own $$), I have 6 (3 were gifts from Josh and the girls, 1 I purchased as a gift for myself when I had been smoke free for 6 months, and 2 of them I purchased at the MCM sale at a deep discount), and Alli has 6. Which leaves our collection sitting at 20 dolls even. We all like Caroline a lot - so I wouldn't be surprised if she joins the shelf sometime this year - however, as you can see, our shelf really won't hold any more, and it will be a very tight squeeze to fit another one. LOL

IMG_9392a.jpg

Today our couch guy is coming... Then after that, I have to go to my stylist quick - she is doing a very speedy eyebrow wax for me. Other than that, I will be in my sewing room all day.

I hope you all have a great day! :woohoo:

D~

I think your doll collection is wonderful! And my philosophy is that there is always room for one more! Of course that is coming from someone who has an entire room dedicated to Pluto. Oh, and I also have another room with over 700 teddy bears. :rolleyes1 One of my brothers friends once told me I have a collecting problem. Hmmmm, maybe he was right. :rotfl2:

Love your doll collection. I collected Precious Moments and have over 400 (although they will be gone after the first of year....packed them all up for my goddaughter).

Enjoy your day in your seeing room.:goodvibes

I am jealous of your AG collection. I am hoping to get DD started on her own collection soon. They didn't have AG dolls when I was growing up but I collected Ginny dolls.

Also love the Remy bag. My kids love that movie and my younger 2 were actually watching it just yesterday at the dentist.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I have been collecting for as long as I can remember, so almost 40 years. Pluto has always been my favorite.

Funny you mention this. We went to my brothers house around Halloween, and their daughter who is 5, loves this movie. So of course it was on, and our DD2 was enthralled with it. Well my husband didn't really want her to watch it, so we don't own it, easy enough. Except we have Netflix, so while looking for something else DD2 spots this movie and wants to watch it. So both of us are in the other room, she comes running in and crying "Christmas is gone!" We had to reassure her and watch the end of the movie to show her Christmas was still ok. She is really into Santa and Christmas this year, so I think for a moment she was traumatized. No more NBC for awhile.

I did finish 1 project. Pics on the disbou board. Her dance class teacher was not as happy as I hoped, so next year, gift card. Save sewing time for DD2, who loves what I make her!

Love the Remy bag, he is so cute! And adorable interior fabric.

the Remy bag is too cute! love the fabric inside!

cute set up of all the "girls" too!

Ruth and Ruthie posting same time :rotfl: that will drive everyine crazy

Mickey and Minnie and Ruths! Oh My!

Sorry - couldn't help myself.

Love the bag and am completely fascinated by the fir stitch with that intermittant longer stitch.

After I graduated High School I lived with my sister and niece. My sister started the AG ball rolling with Addy for my niece. By the time we were done, I think the three of us had probably about 20 18 inch dolls. (Not all AG) My sister still displays most of them, including one of mine. (and still collects, even though her daughter is fast approaching 30) We used to have a mass clothing change for Christmas too, and it was a lot of fun. Especially when my cat got involved. :rolleyes2

Love the Remy bag and your AG collection. The pink is a very pretty one.

Pluto0809, love your Pluto collection. I didn't look at all the pictures, but I saw many Pluto items I had never seen before.

Love your collection. C wants a shelf like you have after we do her new room. Love them Remybag it is so cool.

Love the Remy bag. The little wallet is so cute but Remy is fantastic!!!

Oh, I hope V feels better soon. I think I'm getting the same thing thanks to Curtis. I can't wait until after Christmas so I can see the gifts your girls are getting this year. :santa:

Your birthday weekend trip to MOA sounds like so much fun. It will be nice to have something to look forward to.

I love seeing all the dolls dressed up for the Holidays. I wish my DD was more into dolls but she is a stuffed animal girl. I think it is nice to have a "collection". Instead of tossing a bunch of toys over the years that your girls never played with you have something you guys can still enjoy. Caroline is calling my name but Casey is waiting to see what the doll of the year will be in 2013 - decisions, decisions.

Looking forward to seeing your auction item. Based on the pictures you posted I'm guessing it is not a tire cover.

As for your remodel, we remodeled the kitchen in our old house. Although we did not recoop our money when we sold the house I am confident that we would not have sold our house so quickly (or for as much) if we had not done that remodel. We also got to enjoy the benefits of having a new kitchen and it improved the quality of our time in that house.

Thank you Ariana. I hate posting pictures of our AG collection on non-AG message boards, because most people outside of that community think it's excessive. And the fact that I am an adult and I love such childish things (Ahem... Disney... AG... ) What can I say, I am just a big kid... But I do enjoy every moment of my life, and the people in it.

I think I have a collecting problem too...

Love your doll collection. I collected Precious Moments and have over 400 (although they will be gone after the first of year....packed them all up for my goddaughter).

Enjoy your day in your seeing room.:goodvibes

Thank you Kathy! I love Precious Moments too... I think I only have 2 though... I got one of them from my aunts when my Mom died. I think I also have a Christmas ornament. They are gorgeous - and I especially LOVE the Disney ones. How wonderful that you are sharing them with your God-daughter, she will enjoy having them, I am sure.

AG came out in 1986, I was in 6th grade and just beyond my doll years, so I never had one either. In fact, I had never heard of them until the holiday season Josh was in Iraq (2004), and I was looking for something really special to give the girls that year, to distract them from Josh being gone. Little did I know then what a wonderful hobby it would become, and such a wonderful thing to share between the girls and I. Eventually, it even catapulted me into my sewing adventures. I firmly believe that AG helped us solidify a wonderful mother/daughter relationship, all those years sitting on the floor with my girls and dressing dolls... And even if it didn't - those are some of my very favorite memories of them.

I hope you are able to start a collection... It is just a fantastic thing... When the world around us is facing such horrible things, AG is out there promoting wholesomeness, family and friendship. There is so much more there than just dolls. IMO.

Serious thread jacking here. :) I don't mind sharing! My name is Ariana by the way, not Ruth.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I have been collecting for as long as I can remember, so almost 40 years. Pluto has always been my favorite.

LOVE your Pluto collection Ariana! It is just amazing - and I love how you have it displayed. Such a unique and fun collection.

P.S. - There is no such thing as threadjacking in my PTR/TRs... :thumbsup2

Funny you mention this. We went to my brothers house around Halloween, and their daughter who is 5, loves this movie. So of course it was on, and our DD2 was enthralled with it. Love the Remy bag, he is so cute! And adorable interior fabric.

I did run over and look at it, but I did not have the time to respond. Such a bummer that her teacher seemed unappreciative... You know, there was a time in my life where hand-made items just weren't appreciated by me either, it wasn't until I started to WANT to learn to sew that I realized what an art it is and how much work goes into it. I cringe at the fact that so many people have gifted me with their wonderful items, time, talent and hugs - and I didn't realize how much they cared about me to give me such an amazing gift. Some day, she may realize how wonderful that bag is (it's super cute, BTW) and what an amazing gift it is, how much time it took you to make it, and choose just the right fabrics for her. Or, she may never realize - regardless - I agree that your time and talent should be given to your kids, who do appreciate it and love it! Did that make sense?

the Remy bag is too cute! love the fabric inside!

cute set up of all the "girls" too!

Thanks Lisa! We had a great time setting up the "girls" this year... I just couldn't believe how much time it took. :crazy2: I hope to, at least, keep up on dressing them for the seasons.

Mickey and Minnie and Ruths! Oh My!

Sorry - couldn't help myself.

LOL - isn't that the truth, Ruth. :rotfl2: I couldn't help myself either...

Love the bag and am completely fascinated by the fir stitch with that intermittant longer stitch.

Thanks... I wasn't sure about the "fur stitch" either... I know I've used it in the past (same stitch I used on Jack's mouth on the NBC UPB), but when I first started it, I wasn't so sure about it. It wasn't until I pulled it out of my machine to look at it, as a whole, that I decided I liked it.

After I graduated High School I lived with my sister and niece. My sister started the AG ball rolling with Addy for my niece. By the time we were done, I think the three of us had probably about 20 18 inch dolls. (Not all AG) My sister still displays most of them, including one of mine. That is awesome! What a wonderful collection you all started. Poor cat though.

Love the Remy bag and your AG collection. The pink is a very pretty one.

Pluto0809, love your Pluto collection. I didn't look at all the pictures, but I saw many Pluto items I had never seen before.

Thank you Tink! :)

I agree, I think Ariana has an amazing Pluto collection!

Love your collection. C wants a shelf like you have after we do her new room. Love them Remybag it is so cool.

Thanks Chiara. LOL That is one Looooong shelf... It's approx 9 ft. I would LOVE to see Miss C's room (and shelf) when you are all done with it.

Love the Remy bag. The little wallet is so cute but Remy is fantastic!!!

Thanks Liz!

Oh, I hope V feels better soon. I think I'm getting the same thing thanks to Curtis. I can't wait until after Christmas so I can see the gifts your girls are getting this year.

Thanks, she does. Now Alli is fighting it, and I woke with a roaring headache this morning. :scared:

I can't wait to see what they are getting too. ::yes::

Your birthday weekend trip to MOA sounds like so much fun. It will be nice to have something to look forward to.

Thanks! I am really looking forward to it.

Yah, that was another part of AG that I loved. We had our "toy room" where all the toys lived, and it was always a disaster. But our AGs and AG items never went there, they always had a special place. Along with that, it taught my girls about respect for items of value... Which is sometimes a hard thing to teach. It was never more appearant that my girls "got it", when they would have friends over who just HAD to play with the AGs... And when they would leave, the girls would sit here for days to try and get it all organized and find all the missing pieces. After about 3 times of doing this - the girls determined that their dolls were "off limits" to all of their friends, but a select few. I was very proud of them for that, because it took a lot of courage and determination to stand up to their friends and tell them no.

The GOTY for 2013 is named Saige... She is from New Mexico. Some of the items she will have in her collection are a dog, and art easel, a white horse with speckles and saddle, her big item is a hot air balloon. Saige has a very pretty wig that is red (but not quite as red as Felicity's), longer wavy hair. She is a very pretty doll. I think most of her outfits are cute... There's a couple that I don't like that much - but my girls would probably love. I have seen pictures of all of her items, but I don't think they have been officially released by AG yet. So, maybe that will help you with your decision?

Looking forward to seeing your auction item. Based on the pictures you posted I'm guessing it is not a tire cover.

It is not a tire cover. :scratchin However, you did let me take a picture of yours while I was in Charlotte. ::yes::

As for your remodel, we remodeled the kitchen in our old house. Although we did not recoop our money when we sold the house I am confident that we would not have sold our house so quickly (or for as much) if we had not done that remodel. We also got to enjoy the benefits of having a new kitchen and it improved the quality of our time in that house.

I am kind of thinking along those lines too. Thanks for giving me your opinion on that.

Yesterday in my sewing room was AWESOME!!! I am super happy and super excited about Allison's Christmas gift... It's coming together waaaay better than I thought it would. I am hoping to have it finished this morning so that I can share pictures here. I do not plan on sharing them on FB, however, unless it's in a private group, because I don't want her to see.

Then, I plan to work on V's gift this afternoon. I don't have a lot left to do for her's. Which I feel badly about, Allison's is much bigger... But I am making these to coordinate with their "big gifts" from us, and V's just doesn't need something big. Make sense?

My couch guy came yesterday, pulled apart my love seat and discovered a joint that had come loose. So, he fixed it... Hopefully it stays fixed. On the up side, I saw what he did, and how he did it - so if it happens to any of the other pieces out of warranty, I can show Josh what to do. :thumbsup2

I've put together a few recipes for our holiday "weekend"... Josh was able to get off for Christmas Eve... So we have 4 full days together as a family. Really looking forward to it. I think I may go grocery shopping on Friday.

I hope you all have a wonderful day, and I will be back later with pictures. :thumbsup2

Pluto0809, love your Pluto collection. I didn't look at all the pictures, but I saw many Pluto items I had never seen before.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

D~ Thanks for letting me thread jack, I love showing off my Pluto collection to people who actually appreciate it. I think most people outside of Disney lovers think I'm a little nuts. :lmao:

Glad you had a great day yesterday and can't wait to see pictures later today. popcorn::

That's wonderful that you have four days off for Christmas. I'm extremely spoiled at my work. They give us three days for Christmas so I have 24th - 26th off. Unfortunately this Friday I have to drive about an hour and 1/2 away for a class. :scared: Not looking forward to that!
