Scooter Mom Rides Again !!! A Thanksgiving TR-Nov.21-25(Updated12/26-closingthoughts)

Great updates! Glad your DH got to do the segway tour at Epcot, it looks like so much fun! I'm so nervous about trying to ride a Segway though, I feel like I'd fail miserably!

Love all of the Animal Kingdom pics! I love the little Camp Minnie Mickey character area around Christmas, so cute! Chip and Dale have become some of my favorite characters to meet, they're so funny!

Yay, MK! Every year I try to see the castle lighting ceremony, and every year I fail! Maybe next year! It looks so magical, I really have to see it at least once!

Ahhh the Grand Floridian, that is my absolute ultimate dream resort, I LOVE that place! I'm sorry your dinner wasn't good, and that they screwed up your dining plan and credit card, that's annoying! I think my sister and I will be going to breakfast there in Feb., I'm really looking forward to it! I love Basin, I've always wanted to get one of those candles!

He said it wasn't hard at all and all of the people in his group did really well.

We loved their little Christmas outfits and trees. I was happy my BFF wanted to do this. I am not sure we would have done it otherwise.

It only takes about 20 minutes or so. So worth taking the time to see. I highly recommend.

OK - what's the deal with them NOT taking your TIW card for your drinks? I am current in saying that they were wrong? That really annoys me, especially since the TIW card price is jacked up to $100. Sorry your meal was less than stellar.

It sort of confirms my impression that Disney's food quality is falling and they are slowly jacking up all the prices and start to nickel and dime people for stuff. Annoying.

Love the Basin candles. They are pretty cool.

I know it was wrong of her to refuse the TiW. DH just didn't know any better. If I had been there, I would have made her take it or asked for a manager. DH was already peeved that it took so long and she charged our card.

We were so bummed about it. Our previous meal there was so, so delicious and everything went so well. It was very disappointing to have such a drastic opposite experience.

We love all of the stuff at Basin. It is all so cool.

Day 4 – Part 1

We got up early on this day so we could hit EMH at Hollywood Studios.

The Christmas tree

DH headed over to get FP’s for Toy Story Mania while the rest of us headed towards Sunset Blvd.

DS headed over to ride Rock n Rollercoaster while DD and I got some breakfast from Fairfax Fare

I got an egg and cheese sandwich with sausage.

I got one for DH that had bacon in it.

DD wanted a cinnamon roll

And for a CS credit you could get a yogurt and a drink with it,

DH met back up with us and we ate. DS came back from RnR and said they let him ride three times without even having to get out. He was funny. He said “Yeah, three times is enough.” He ate the sausage out of my sandwich and half of the cinnamon roll.

This is just a basic CS breakfast. It was pretty decent food and filled us up.

DD conned me into buying her a headband in one of the shops.

After breakfast, Dh and the kids the rode Star Tours twice while I waited. That ride makes me sick.

Then we rode the Great Movie Ride

Which had a crazy long line already.

We got to go up front though because the scooter doesn’t fit through that windy line thing they got going on in there. It looked like it was moving pretty fast. Anyway, we got your standard gangster scene. We liked it.

Day 4 – Part 1

We got up early on this day so we could hit EMH at Hollywood Studios.

Ah, you are one of THOSE! You know, the ones that join Early Entry with Extra Magic Hours, to confuse the issues. Sorry,, EMH is at night and I'm sticking to it!

(ok, I'm sorry, like I said, I'm out of painkillers and I tend to get a bit , um, "sarcastic"

I don't thhink I/we, have ever eaten first thing in a theme park, Disney or otherwise, I'm usually too much in commando mode then, b ut since I havent eaten yet, that sounds pretty goof right now.

Absolutely. Nothing better than being filled up before you ride Tower of Terror.

That's the strangest ride when it comes to lines, you never know what it's going to be like, and it never makes any sense.

Wow, what a 180 at Grand Floridian Cafe! That steak looked unappetizing, and the server screwing with your TiW discount- what a disappointment.

I really wish we could have joined you at DHS that morning. Sadly, DD was not up to the early morning haven gotten sick the day before. She'll be bummed when I tell her your DS rode RnRC three times without even having to re-board the ride.

Yes, we were very disappointed with our dinner. Last year it was so awesome. I don't know what happened. I am still blown away by the fact that they thought that was worth $187.

I wish you would have, too. I am so sorry your DD got sick. We totally did not get to spend enough time together. And I'm all pouty about it.

Wow I'm late! I would love to spend Thanksgiving at WDW some of these days. I love the Christmas decorations! We were lucky enough to see several of the early ones in November and we were able to see the first night of the Osborne Lights. So magical!

Better late than never, though, right ?? I am glad you are here !!

Yes, we really loved it there at Thanksgiving. It was busy, but we worked around the crowds like any good disser does. We love the World all decorated up for Christmas. It gives everything that extra special magic, I think.

And the Osborne Lights are just awesome !!

It is amazing. I was trying to get through the bag check and I asked DH to take "some" photos of the tree. He got one. Sigh. I wanted lots. Close ups of the ornaments and stuff. I had less control over the camera because I had to use my hands for operating the scooter and when a picture I had to stop and take one. Instead of the good old days when I could walk and take photos at the same time. I will get back to being mobile one day.

I didn't really get a good close-up of it, but it has Mickey heads all over it. It is super cute.

Day 4 – Part 2

Then we headed over to get some snacks.

DH and the kids got a pretzel and a churro while I waited in a LONG line here

For a carrot cake cookie.

I wanted some coffee, too, but they said it would be a few more minutes before more was ready. So I passed.

Back to this cookie. Seriously yummy stuff. Moist carrot cake with cream cheese frosting inside. Sooo good !!

Since I waited so long, DH and the kids had already finished their snacks. After our snacks,

After that, DD wanted her face painted.

While she was doing that, DH and DS went over to see the New Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

They said it was just OK. Something to do once and then nothing to go back and do over and over. DH said there were some neat effects, but it was just OK.

Then it was time for our Toy Story Mania fast passes.

Since we were in the handicap area, we had to wait a while. It was fine though. I just took photos.

After that, we cruised the shops on the way out. DD got a vinylmation.

She loves these things. They are just chocolate in foil, but she loves them.
After that, we went out to the Friendship Boats

We were headed over to Epcot because we had a ressie for a late lunch at Le Cellier !!
