Foods you wish you could ban

At home I mean. Are there any foods that your family loves but that totally grosses you out? Mine is pork rinds. My stomach turns even when DH opens the bag :crazy2:. Tonight he popped one in, ate it, then leaned down to kiss me bye! :scared: I have a mind to "accidentally" throw the rest of the bag away :scratchin

I was served pickled pork rind in Mexico once. Dont need to do that again LOL. I do like it fried though :)

Raw onion. DH loves them but the smell makes me sick. He used to get tuna salad from to one place with extra stinky onions and I could actually smell them from a few feet feet away 4+ hours after he had the sandwich. He said he would give them up when I quit smoking but he never did. :(

ETA..I don't serve them to him but he'll get them on burgers or what not when we're out.

Black licorice. Swear I will eat ANYTHING else on the planet but black licorice.

:sad2::mad::crazy2::rolleyes2:sad2::rolleyes:

Any Chef Boyardee canned products of disgustingness. I can't stand the smell of any of that stuff. If it gets on my hand...just ewwww!

On another note, I love black licorice. I used to not like it but developed a taste for it about two years ago. Now I crave it! It has to be the good stuff though...

I'm with you on the pork rinds. I get sick if anyone around me is eating them. Thankfully, nobody in my family likes them either.

Meat, poultry, fish, dairy. All banned.

Sour cream, mayo, cream cheese, salad dressings. Just the look/smell turns my stomach

DH did actually ban fish (or anything else that lived in the sea). I;ve banned fruit.

Bananas are banned in my house. I don't care how good they are supposed to be for you. That includes baby food thathas banana in it. If anyone brings a banana to eat in my house they need to eat it outside, have a plastic bad with them to dispose of the remains and throw it away in their car or a dumpster. BLEH! :crazy2:

I wish I could ban all gum chewing around me.

You banned fruit? All fruit? Like, even fruit IN stuff? That's a lot of stuff. Why?

Yes, yes and yes. I won't eat it. Any of it. Won't even hold a piece in my hand. It's a VERY strange hang up, I know, but I have had a vehement aversion to ALL fruit since I was a kid. I think it's all gross. If DH eats a piece then I won't kiss him for the rest of the day. I even hate the smell of the produce section of the grocery store and walking through it gives me the willies. :confused3

Some day I will recount the "banana story" here on the DIS. It's a good one. Traumatic, but hilarious.
