Sarah/Jungle Cruiser update:grouphug:

She is well, but her outpatient procedure turned into an admittance due to pain. She is strong and positive, as always and expects to be back home very soon. I had a milk shake in her honor today and I recommend you all do the same ::yes::

Hey, we should ALL have one in her honor!! :goodvibes

Hi all,

Received an email from Sarah tonight. The surgery went well, and she ended up being admitted to the hospital as the pain was too much.:sad2: With this surgery it can happen to some, and Sarah was one of them. She does have a private room, IV fluids and in her words &a lovely IV pain medicine that takes about 2 minutes to work. Both her and DH were relieved she was admitted as its where she needs to be.

Understandingly she is too tired to read or post on the DIS, but know she would send along her usual upbeat hello to all... :goodvibes

Oh Kook, didn't see your post!! :)

Ahhh must be dilaudid...she must have Disney dreams tonight_!!

Oh Sarah! sending along our love and wishes for a speedy recovery! You are in all our thoughts!

Jenny: I hope I can convince DH! :) I tested the water tonight and said he doesn't have to give me Christmas or birthday presents this yr or next! He said "no" -- I swear I think he thinks I'm going to end up kidnapped or worse visiting my online friends, lol -- well if I'm gonna be kidnapped, it should be in the Mouse's house :p :rotfl: I haven't been to Disneyland in 23 yrs -- so I think it's about time I go!!!! I'll wear him down, you'll see ;)

I can feel it right.....now...thanks Jeanette :flower3:

You're welcome. I wish we all lived in the same neighborhood...in Orlando of course...what a week for you!! And your DD too

:wave2: Catching up with you all....

Melissa, happy that your DS came thru endo well, and thinking positive thoughts for the biospy results.

IHeart, yay for both you and DH! Sounds like you are finally getting the school's attention to bullying. Excellent. Hpoe DD (and momma) do well on Monday....

Jenny, It's scary when our parents get older and start having health issues. Look at the positive, your mom is finally addressing her health issues, and hopefully will be able to treat any heart issues with diet and excerise and perhaps medication

Will try to catch up soon. I'm working..no internet right now. Hugs to all

No Internet??? :faint:

What's this?? Oh, it seems like a RC DIVA trip might be in the making!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Marie, perfect for you, you are closer to DL and your next WDW trip is 2014, right?? Sooo... DL in '13!! You have PLENTY of time to convince DH!!

I've wanted to go on the DIVA trip for a few years, but too shy to go solo. If Linda thinks it's worth going, maybe we can all go next year.:thumbsup2

Yes!! And there are LESS resorts for RCing ... right?? :rotfl2:

Yep it's tonight .... heading out in a few minutes. We have a group of 24 but that includes spouses and children so I'm not sure how many Divas I'll be meeting. Should be fun! :thumbsup2

Have a great time!! Will we get to see pictures?? :thumbsup2

Ahhh must be dilaudid...she must have Disney dreams tonight_!!

Whatever it is Nurse Pas, can we have some to take us away to Disney tonight?? :goodvibes

hmmmm... guess you are using your phone?? :) Are you on transport tonight?? Yup, just read your going for a milkshake after work....yum!

Janet and Kook, thank you for the update on Sarah. I am sure she is more comfortable in the hospital with her pain being managed. Please send her big  and lots of well wishes :goodvibes

Melissa

Yes JanetB, it is good she took the step to go to the Dr. I know you are already dealing with parent health issues, thanks for the helpful words. I am such a newbie at this. I tried to stay in the office with her and the Dr, but she kicked me out. :confused3

I am so in for a RC trip someday!!:thumbsup2

Hi all....

Melissa: Sorry to hear of what you are going through with your DS...sending lots of hugs.

Linda:and Minnie&Nana I am intrigued by this Dis Diva trip talk...only today I found myself daydreaming of a trip to WDW with all of you!!:hippie:

Miss: Thanks for asking about DD4, she is doing ok, only a sore chin. But had to have her at the Doc for a Chest infection today, and she now has some meds to take too.

Iheart: So proud of you and your DH, you are making changes for your DS and I am sure you will keep getting results now. Please keep us updated. And I feel the same way about all the ladies here. When something happens good or bad around here I now have to first phone my mom, and then let you all know!! Keep looking forward to your upcoming trip...WOW I AM SO JEALOUS!!! But in a good way...:goodvibes

Marie: Yes I am so up for this type of trip too someday!:thumbsup2 Let me know how you will convince your DH, so I can use the same material on mine!;)

Side note...my mom was at the Dr.s with us too today. She told me she has been experiencing heart pains for a couple of months now  but the past little while they have gotten worse. Last night she had some that scared her, and thought 'oh maybe I should see the DR.' They hooked her up and did some minor testing on her, and he said he is concerned, and should have her an appointment with a cardiologist within a week. She is scared...her mom (my nana) died of a heart attack at 74, only 1 year older than my mom. She had suffered with angina for years. He told her if the pains come again like last night or get worse to call 911.:eek::eek:

Oh and my Dad's nose is still bleeding after being cauterized twice. The specialist now says he has a hole in his septum, and needs to have some minor surgery to fix that. :scared:

So....I am trying not to worry about all this stuff. DH asked me why I seemed so calm. But I don't want to worry now without all the info. I am hoping if there is something it can be corrected. I just wish she hadn't waited so long to go to the DR.

Thanks for listening ladies....:grouphug:

Oh, Jen your poor DD. Getting sick after her injury. No fair!

Good attitude to have about your parents health. Try to stay positive unless you are given a definite reason to believe you shouldn't. I know that must be hard  I'm glad they are both seeking the care they need.

Janet and Kook, thank you for the update on Sarah. I am sure she is more comfortable in the hospital with her pain being managed. Please send her big  and lots of well wishes :goodvibes

Melissa, she did say they both were relieved she was admitted; hope the Docs will keep her until the pain is minimal or gone. I did send her a quick email (which I know she won't read until tomorrow) that everyone is thinking of her and sending along hugs :flower3:

Jen, she just wanted some privacy like we all do at times. Sure she will discuss any treatment with you, but she may want to get all info first. hang in there

:thumbsup2 Ya know, I've never been been to DL.....:goodvibes

Melissa,

You know, lately I have been thinking that this 'time' in my life is one that I will look back on and think fondly of . Having all my loved ones still in my life, small kids sleeping soundly in their bed, two purring cats laying on me while I relax, a great hubby always there for me, and wonderful friends to confide in. It won't always be like this.

I used to think if I stop to feel happy something bad will happen. But I feel now that I need to stop and feel the happiness, because the other things will happen anyway. And I will have wasted these moments worrying.

Sorry...a bit deep folks!:hippie:

Hey, we should ALL have one in her honor!! :goodvibes

I drove over to Sonic with my John Michael and got this....

It's a Chocolate Mint Holiday Shake

Good evening, finally going to try to catch up.

Jen - yes, you do need to stop and enjoy the happiness around you! HUGS to you for all you are going through. I know I've said it before but it is hard when the tables turn and you know have to worry about and take care of your parents. Hang in there and know we are there to share I. All your happy and sad (and scared and mad) moments. :)

Linda - I hope you are having a great evening at your DIVA meet up!

Janet - thanks for the well wishes for DS.

Marie - I hope you can get away next year to DL :) kidnapped at the Mouse's House sounds perfect!!!! LOL!!!!

i_heart - so glad DH seemed to get some results, and YAY on the ME tags! Woohoo! Sounds like a glass of wine is deserved tonight for sure! Yes that helpless feeling of your children going under sucks! DS has gone under at least 6 or so times and it sucks each time!!! Good luck with DD and her tooth on Monday.

Wookie - we are pretty sure the biopsies will come back the same as they did in August, hopefully no worse. Yep helpless feeling is the worst!!!

Miss - we won't get any answers as to why, just how bad his stomach is. We've been at this for almost two years and done so many tests, it appears that all his stress goes right to his stomach and tears it apart :( He complained of a stomach ache that turned out to be a stomach and esophagus full of ulcers and erosion.

BanditsMommy - enjoy your break during semesters (and counting down the days to your trip)!

Hi Christine, Ginny, Jeanette and everyone else I missed!!!

Happy Weekend everyone!
Melissa

I'm slowly working on DH :) I'll get my way eventually! :rotfl:

I'm having a dilemma of my own....

As you all know, I've been awaiting my new partner. She's finally hired and starts dec 17. I will be back to my alternating schedule by dec 27. With the retirement of our business manager 6 weeks ago, things at work have gone downhill -- new business mgr is anal and controlling and trying to get me to do coverage for another position (stock keeper) which is not what I applied for! Physically I can't do heavy lifting, I applied for admin/reception 2.5 yrs ago and have never had to do stock keeper for our last boss. This boss is all about cross training, etc..... But I have no interest in training on stock keeper position!!! That's just the tip of the iceberg .... Work is not the same without our old Business Mgr....not to mention. she was a Disney fiend like us!

Long story shorter... I have an opportunity to move out of the young offender Center to next door / the big spanking new remand facility (adult inmates) that was just built. There is a data operator position in inmate accounts. It would mean a promotion/ going up a level from an admin 2 to a admin 3 -- double the salary and full time. I know I said I like part time, but this offers new opportunity and challenge, and may keep me busy!!! I love data entry. I'm so bored in my current job. There is a lot of down time with nothing to fill it. This new job is in a huge, busy state of the art facility.... Serving 800 staff alone, and a couple thousand inmates. I think I'd be kept busy.

It means interview process again (which I hate) but a good chance of success as its only open to current dept employees. Now I need to choose -- lazy and easy job or challenge and busy full time job? I am tempted to apply and see where it might take me. I have until Tue to get my application in....and I am wondering whether I should go for it! Sorry for the long post, my mind is going a mile a minute right now.
Thanks for listening!!!
Marie

I say go for it Marie!! :dance3: Your current boss sounds like a pill.

Well somehow the last time I posted I managed to miss 2 whole pages including the update on Sarah. My humble apologies to all.

Sarah - I'm glad you are getting the care you need. You remain in my thoughts. :drinking1 <--- That's my honorary milkshake :)

Jenny - You are so right. Live for today. Enjoy your family!

Melissa - I'm so sorry your poor son has to go through these procedures on a regular basis. I hope that you can get some answers that offer him some relief.:goodvibes

Janet - Thanks for the well wishes for DD :goodvibes

A sincere thanks again ladies for all of your kind thoughts about my DS. I hope everyone has a good weekend :grouphug:

I go out of a simple little dinner and you ladies chat up 3 pages!!!

Sarah lots of hugs to you. I agree that the hospital is probably best for tonight and I must be right since that's what nurse Jeanette says. Janet and kook thanks for the updates. Hope to hear more good news tomorrow.

So sorry about all the hurt/sick/beat up kiddos. It's tough to be a mama sometimes. Stay strong ladies! And sick parents sometimes can be even harder to deal with .... after all they are our PARENTS ... the ones who always took care of us ... very strange when the roles start reversing.

So the mini Diva meet dinner was really a lot of fun. I got to meet 4 of the Divas that will be on the trip in Feb .... all very nice and friendly. Christine you are correct Laurie is really sweet. If these ladies are a true sample of the ladies that go on the trip I'm sure I'll have a great time! So I'm going to just sign up for a lot of the activities and meals and see how it goes. I'll let all my RC family know what I think.

Everyone have a good night and I'll "see" you all in the morning.

Thanks Kook, I was ashamed that I didn't mention her in my last post as she has been on my mind all day. That special lady is going through a lot.:worried:
You're welcome and she is very special.

Oh poor Sarah.. I am making the crew take me to sonic for a shake after the next job.. at least they can keep her comfortable and an eye on her tonight. Thanks kook!!!!
Love it!

Hey, we should ALL have one in her honor!! :goodvibes
This applies to today, too:snooty:

Ahhh must be dilaudid...she must have Disney dreams tonight_!!
Whatever that is, she sure can write a late-night cogent PM:thumbsup2

Janet and Kook, thank you for the update on Sarah. I am sure she is more comfortable in the hospital with her pain being managed. Please send her big  and lots of well wishes :goodvibes
