September/October 2013 check in

Everytime you mentioned alicia i thought you were preparing the most awesome surprise for me

I think doing halloween + xmas is a great idea and cake is a lovely idea. I have seen pics. The cakes are a regular large round cake size that a family of 4 would eat over several days... Just make sure you are prepared to eat cake for the better part of a week :)

:rotfl: Everytime I re-read it it sounded like I was talking about you, haha! Hopefully we are able to catch the parade and fireworks, that would be amazing! I thought the cakes looked absoultely adorable and delicious!! Even the smallest one (I think it's 6 inches??) looks wwaayy to big for the two of us. We would quite literally be, as you mentioned, eating cake for a week :rotfl:

Kiwimousegirl, we had a driver last year who took us on a day trip to all of the touristy places around LA etc, and some not so touristy as well. He was brilliant. He also does transfers, and will take you to/from just about anywhere. Not sure what he would charge, but let me know if you want his contact info.

Ooh yes that would be amazing! Thankyou!! I think that along with six flags, we might also do Halloween Horror Night at Universal studios, which means we couldn't catch a bus tour as we would be leaving later :/ Hopefully he is able to help us!! :wizard:

The one and only time i've ever flown, has been with Air New Zealand. We flew with them because it was part of a package deal including accomodation. The food I personally thought was pretty good for "plane" food (not that I had any expectations) but the eggs for breakfast were :crazy2: . Alicia and I are planning on getting what my travel agent described as a "loveseat" where we will book 2 seats and be seated in a row of 3 and pay extra for the 3rd seat. OR a skycouch thingy where the foot rest actually folds up into a bed, which I REALLY like the idea of as I just cannot sleep upright!

I can't comment on Quantas, but the deal that our travel agent has given us as an example is flying with them. Are there some horror stories I need to be made aware of

Just having a senior moment and can't remember when Disney release their Sept discounts. Can anyone remember when free dining and percent off generally comes out for September?

Kiwimousegirl, our drivers name is Fernando Ruiz. His email address is regaltours1@yahoo.com? He and his twin brother own the business, so I guess you would get one or the other. I think they're identical twins, so it probably wouldn't matter:rotfl2:
He really was wonderful and it's so nice to have a local to ask lots of questions of as you're touring.
Let me know if you want any more info.

hmm, we might be cutting our trip back to just 8 nights in Hawaii - which is nothing to sneeze at, it's just not the couple of week long trip I was imagining :lmao:

Anyhoo - My Hawaii has a deal at the moment, flights, 8 nights accom, transfers, a couple of tours, breakfast and other stuff for about $2000 per person. Can't remember much of the details other then that, but we're looking into it. As mum pointed out, we could afford that now, and then spend the time between now and then just saving spending money :rolleyes1

I am desperate to take the family back to Disneyland in September.
We are happy to go before the school holidays.
There are good fares departing (BrisVegas - LAX) up to 31 August, but none a little later.

Do folk think that there will be some specials available for early September???

We sure are hoping so! There are already three of us waiting for airfare deals for the first week of September. We could start a club!

but i guess they wont be released til late dec/ mid january...sometimes even as late as mid feb....why oh why??????

so ......

was thinking about this itin...
syd-lax-mco
BWV 7 nights (dvc points) WDW
cruise B2B 14 days (freedom of the seas)
mco-lax
GCH 5 nights (dvc points)
lax-syd

so since we are doing 9 nights at DLR in feb, would it be better to get an annual pass for DL???We already have our AP for WDW......

too many choices...

oh and we are back looking at ANZ PE.....ok, so we blow another $3000 over an econ fare, but using our dvc points at DLR would save us a few 1000$$ in accom.....justifying it all I know :thumbsup2 and i really want to be able to use the GCH pool this time, as feb will be too cold to swim.....

Hey everyone!!!

Its been a long time since I have been on the Dis, so excited to see how everyones plans are going!!!:cool1:

My sister and me have just payed the deposit for our Disney Dream cruise for October 2013, 4 nights to the Bahamas Concierge level!!! We are planing on arriving two days before and staying at either the Art of Animation or Animal Kingdom Lodge for the two nights, we are not going to do into any of the parks before the cruise so are planning to either see La Nouba and explore DTD and possibly mini Golf. :goodvibes

We are still planning on the rest of the trip after the cruise but still hoping to be able to do both Halloween and Christmas parties. This will be a big trip for both of us to WDW. We are thinking about buying another AP as it was such great value for our last trip in Janaury 2012, where we stayed for three weeks. :cheer2:

Thats it for our plans at the moment, think we will be taking a break from trip planning as we plan for Christmas and New Years 2012

Hope everyones plans are going well!!

Shan

I brought out Air NZ tickets for Sep 2011, in April, so we may have to wait a little longer than Jan/Feb for the AirNZ sale (though I do hope not!!).
