That's SO exciting! Congratulations! Bet that was a really fun shopping trip!

Oh Yeah! Can't wait to wear the clothes! My mom bought me the size 6 dress and it is by far my fave. It is long, white, and flowy with gold/tan stiching and I got these beautiful gold strappy heal sandals...I'm wearing it to our Palo brunch!

Excellent! Hmmm, I would have been leaving on Sunday with you, if I would not have changed cruises. Have fun and remember everything in moderation, and you will be getting to your ultimate goal.

Thank You! & Yes, you would be! We ended up wth quite a nice FE group! BUT your are on a much more awesome cruise now!

That's so great! I hope to be where you are in January, all the way down to the shopping!!

Not sure if this is the place to start this, but....I am sailing on the wonder in a few months and I have 25-30 pounds to lose. Hoping to lose half this amount by following the south beach diet. Anyone with me?!

I am going to start a list here as requested by some of you:

Neenslovesdisney: 1/10/10 = lost 9
TravelfamMI: start 1/4/10
1/8/10 = lost 2.25
Maryrn11168: start
1/8/10 = lost 11 lbs

Good luck. I started my diet in June and have lost a total of 121 pounds. Basically a whole person. Can't wait to get back on board and see my usual waiter. He probably won't recognize me. It really wasn't as hard as I thought and now I am "wonder"ing why I didn't do it sooner. Low carb, high protein and plenty of exercise. Hope I can keep it up while on board. Thanksgiving was a wake up call and a lesson learned. I was miserable after lunch and am just now beginning to recover. Anyway, best of luck to you.

How awesome, grats! What a huge loss!

I'm down 40 pounds now with another 50 to go. DH and I are just counting calories and using the Fitbit pedometers to track steps and calories burned versus eaten. We just make sure that we burn more than we eat (it adjusts it throughout the day).

We eat lighter during the week. On weekends we try to get in 5-8 miles of walking at the parks and eat snacks and healthier choices there or out. We have to guess at those calories so we're a bit more lax on weekends but figure the walking makes up for it.

I have been using my fitness pal on my smartphone. No guess work involved. Most times I can enter the food and the amount, the phone does all the work. Glad to hear about the 40 and looks like you are about halfway to your goal. I'm betting you get thee sooner than you think. Fortunately, my job gave me the ability to workout almost all day. I have become a gym rat. Reached and passed my goal several months ago and am now on the road to maintaining what I have done. I feel great and have more energy now than when I was 20. Look out DW. Anyway, congrats on your success.

Wow, that is an unbelievable weight loss Pirate John. Congratulations!

Pink Pug keep yourself focused on the up coming cruise. :cutie:

I hope to see you both on Deck 4 or in the gym during the cruise. We do not want to gain back what we have worked at to lose.

Well, I am holding steady at the 55 lbs. for the year. Really hope to lose another 5 lbs. by the end of the year, but with the cruise coming up, not sure if I will make it. As long as I do not gain. Then another 15 lbs. in the New Year, and I will be on maintenance. I have a Santa Claus race on Saturday. Thank goodness the forecast is for sun and 5 degrees celcius. That Santa Suit could get a little heavy. Next Thursday is my weigh in for my weight loss contest at the gym. I have not lost a lot of weight since September, but I still want to look my best, so I am going to try to remain focused and no cheating this week. We have our department Christmas lunch on the day of my weigh in, so I thought I would bring in a container to work, pack some of the food, and save it for after my weigh in. I will limit myself to a rib or two, and portion control on the fixin's.

Tomorrow is December 1, and there will be many temptations coming our way. If you are going to cheat, do it with thought and control. A little taste. Set your goals and plan for this month.

I'm happy to report that I signed up for my first 5k yesterday! It's on New Year's Eve and I'm very excited about it! I've lost 18 lbs as of my weigh in today. I have um...10 to go by February to meet my cruise goal, and 40 overall to be out of the 'obese' zone. I've been losing an average of 10 lbs a month, so I'm on track.

I wanted to say... Don't deprive yourself. Stay active. Eat within your calorie goals. For thanksgiving I had a serving size of turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, pecan-pumpkin pie. I ran for 30 mins before turkey, and walked for 2 miles after turkey and the next day I was a pound lighter.

Yeah on all the success stories! I'm five pounds up, after my Thanksgiving week Magic cruise. But back with the program!
I think a lot of it was salt amounts I'm not used to because two pounds dropped off in my first two days back ashore.
Back again to the grind, though and off to BodyPump class today.

We got off the Dream yesterday and are heading home today. I'm curious to see what the scale will read.

Well my weight loss challenge is over - lost 12.5 lbs. in 12 weeks for a total of 57 lbs. Now to maintain, and strive to lose 3lbs. by Dec. 27 for a total of 60 lbs. in one year. Actually, the year point is really not until early January when I started the personal training, but it would be nice to say on January 1, in the next 12 weeks, I will lose my last 15 lbs.

Enjoy the holiday season and keep strong. I will be enjoying my cruise.

I hit my 20 lb mark this week! So excited. My goal was 30 lbs by cruise time in Feb, but since I'll make that for sure, I'm upping the stakes to 40lbs total by Feb. Very excited by how quickly the iChat seems to be coming off with running!

That's awesome Missy! Somehow I didn't gain on my cruise, but now in the week we have been home I have managed to gain 2lbs. :-( BUT. It looks like we will be cruising again next year some time, so that is amazing news! My goal is to be at my ultimate goal by then, so 10lbs more by June!

I am also following a modified South Beach Diet. I have about 15-20 pounds to lose. I have gained a TON of weight since getting married and stopping drinking alcohol. I attribute this to the "All Cupcake" diet.:rotfl2: I am with you!! Drop the cupcake!!

It's a frosty morning here in SC- all the more reason to look forward to our spring break cruise aboard the fantasy! With the new year (of course) come fresh starts!
I am at 151. Ready to try again to buckle down and get fit! I have about 12 weeks until our cruise. My goal is 1 to 2 lbs per week. I will do 3 weeks of Medifast, then transition to modified South Beach. We will be attending a wedding in Islamorada in January- a nice motivator to stay on track! I'll also start training now for a sprint triathlon in April.
Thank you all for posting your own stories! I find so much inspiration in the posts on this board!

Looking forward to our first cruise on the Disney Dream on JAN 27. My DW is working crazy hard at the gym. I just had knee surgery and looking forward to get back to running. I have been taking Visalus and lost over 30 lbs and have been maintaining my weight post surgery. I will get a few weeks to run before the cruise and I will use the onboard fitness center to keep things going.
