is it only going up to 60 deg? anyone at WDW now confirm that.

I would expect the unexpected with weather anywhere..Lol. We were at Disney World in December 2010 during the first week of the month. They had temps in the 20's at times. I would definitely plan on bringing some layering clothing just in case it happens again! :crazy2:

A couple of questions for those of you who know :)

We are staying in a Lion King suite at AoA the week of Dec 2nd and would like to save some money by eating breakfast in the room. If I buy some microwavable items (ie. eggs) at Garden Grocer, do I also need to buy or bring plates/bowls/cutlery with me? Or does each room have these items in the cupboards?

What kind of coffee machine is it? Is there a certain filter I should bring/buy with me? (I am bringing my own coffee... Canadian eh!)

Are ice machines in each building? Will it be easy for us to run for ice? Ice bucket I am assuming is in each room?

We asked for the Lion King suite when we booked but I hear in other people's posts that they are "hoping to get" a certain suite. My kids are all excited about this particular suite... is there a possiblity we will be in another section instead? I just figured that I booked a LK room, and that is what is being held for me but maybe I am wrong?

What exactly is offered for drinks to go with the refillable mug at this particular resort?

Would it be considered bad etiquette to take out a water bottle or juice box from my bag at table service meals for my kids?

Is there one of those Bell rooms at AoA for Garden Grocer to deliver to if we aren't in our room the evening our food arrives?

Thanks in advance!! :)

There was a small supply of paper bowls, plates, and plastic utensils when we arrived. We had also brought some from home, so I am not sure if they restock during the stay bc we haven't needed to use theirs. I would think though that housekeeping will restock as needed.

The coffee machine makes one cup at a time. They have one serving pouches of coffee in the rooms. We haven't made coffee with it as we are not coffee drinkers, but we did use it to make hot chocolate:)

Ice machines are on each floor and very easy to get to. Coke products are offered at the drink stations.

I don't think anyone would bat an eye to taking out water or juice for the kids during meals. I've done that on many occasions.

Yes, they will accept grocery deliveries. We ordered from Walmart and our 3 boxes were waiting in our suite when we checked in.

Enjoy your trip! Our last day is Thursday and I am already getting sad about having to leave "home".

The coffee are actually called "pods". Here in the states, you can buy some at the grocery. You would not be able to brew your own coffee unless your brand comes in "pods".

Here are photos of the coffee set-up from my recent Finding Nemo stay:

The Celebration button is just about 3" in diameter and the pod is about 1/4 to 1/3 inch tall. If you look back (or search) in this thread, there were some links posted to coffee pods that other people thought would work. I looked at the links and searched on my own before going to WDW, but I wasn't convinced that what I found would work. Cuisinart doesn't even seem to be making these coffee makers for the general public. They are now producing a K-cup coffee maker for retail. The only thing I thought might work were Senseo coffee pods but they were very tough to find. The other drawback to coffee in the room is they only provide powdered, fake cream. I can't drink coffee -- particularly bad coffee -- without cream and sugar. But I drink my tea without adding anything, so I gave up and drank tea in the room and found good coffee in the parks. Good luck in your coffee pod search!

Here's a photo of the safe with an iPad in it. For those wondering about the safe:

If you booked a Lion King suite, you'll be in a Lion King suite. Some of the specials do not allow guest to select which suite and just say "Family Suite" instead. Unless that's the option you selected, you should be staying where you picked; it should say on your reservation confirmation if you want to double check.

Have a great trip!

Hey Mickeye were going to be checking in the same day (not likely the same time as were getting in late...)

Were so excited :cool1::cool1: We have some newbies with us and some who having only been once 4 years ago We have Grand babies in tow it's going to be such fun.

So you'll be getting there on Saturday evening? We will be getting there before lunch time which gives us most of that day. We're in the LM section. Which section will your group be in? I'm just about to start bouncing off of the walls...how about you? :rotfl: It's our first time to be there for Christmas so we're so very excited about that! I checked the 10 day forecast for WDW and all of the days are supposed to be beautiful with all sun or sun and clouds and 0% chance of rain!!! :beach: Tuesday the 27th may be 80 or 81 degrees, great for swimming. Two days to go!

Thanks all for your help!! :)

I may place an order at the Kissimmee walmart to order some princess shirts.... would I just enter the AoA address under the shipping address? With my name? If it arrives a day or two early, will AoA keep it for me? Will they see my name and then just look me up to see that I have an upcoming reservation or do I need to call Disney to tell them to expect an order?

We checked in yesterday, WOW the pictures don't do it justice! We are in a Cars room, my boys don't even want to go to the parks!
We did on-line check in, but it didn't matter there were no lines. The CM who took care of us was super nice, I requested a pool view room but none were ready (it was 12:30). She didn't want us to wait for our room to be ready so she checked to see if there was one she could put us in. There wasn't but she could put us in another room if the view didn't matter. We are at the end of the hall facing the lake over to Pop, it's great!
My only complaint (and it's not Disney's fault) is, it is so noisy!!! People running and yelling in the halls!!
Laurie :)

To address it:

Here is the information someone posted on the facebook Christmas page..

Hold For "First Name - Last Name" and " arrival to departure dates"
c/o Hotel Name
STREET ADDRESS / NOT PO BOX
TOWN, FL ZIP

Supposedly Disney will hold packages for guests up to two weeks...so I don't see it being a problem arriving at the resort a day or two early :)

I'm also going to be sending a Walmart package to my resort. The person posting did mention that it seems to be taking 10 days to ship from Walmart to the Disney resort. Since I'm arriving in 20 days, I'm thinking about placing my order within the next day or two, just to make sure it has enough time to get there!

Hope that helps you!

Has anyone ever requested a coffee maker in the LM rooms? I know that they are in the suites, I figure there is no harm in asking.

Ill be staying in LM and was wondering if anyone had suggestions I want to have a king bed(solo trip so I'd assume I'd get) and on the fourth floor but not a problem if I don't get it anyone have a room number building (distance isn't a problem)

Going to call later this afternoon :)

So excited!!! We are checking in to AOA in the morning for 10 magical days!!

Will post pics when I can!!!

Checked into our LM room today. There was a bit of a wait at the online check in counter but not too bad. The room is great just wish AC worked better. Have it set as low as possible but it's still about 74 in room...we like it a bit cooler at night.
