That's good to hear!! . My wallet definitely appreciates our move to POR. I think that we will probably reserve deluxe resort stays for shorter trips or special occasions. But, where this is another 11 day trip...the deluxe price tag just becomes a little oppressive...
I'm just glad that we can sit back and wait till April now, and Disney awaits all paid for!!!
Mousemommy1 -- I am waiting for you to come here and make a confession. For anyone that can't wait to hear from her, go check out the first post. Let me just say that POR did not last long.
I've been looking around the Dis hoping to see news of some April discounts. Looks like nothing is out there yet except maybe an AP rate, which would not work for us. The waiting continues.
I have a quick question about the discount codes. If a discount code comes out for, say, April 22 and your vacation is April 20-28, can you get the discount for days 22-28? Or does it have to be for the exact start date of the promotion?
As I understand it, you would actually make two reservations, one for the 20 & 21 and then start a new reservation on the 28. However, I've never had to do this, so I can't say I'm 100% confident that this is correct. But I am pretty sure that this is what I've read on the DIS.
I have done this- you are correct. You would need 2 reservations. I got lucky and didn't have to change rooms, but sometimes you have to, because you are actually checking out and checking back in under a new reservation.

They thought it was very confusing to figure out what was included and what was not included. I am thinking that things have been maybe more streamlined since then?? Can my family just get the dining plan, and my parents not have it? We have two rooms and two different reservation numbers. Thank you to everyone!!

I remember this blog post from TouringPlans.com. It's a recent and pretty good look at the Disney Dining Plan. It mostly focuses on how to determine if it's a good deal for you financially. It's a good read in any case. Hope it helps or at least is a little educational.
