Is there really no August 2013 thread yet?

Can you please help me? I am a first time Disney traveler! I have never been there before. This will be my first trip with my family. My husband, 2 daughters ages 12 and 8, my 1 year old son will be traveling August 13-24, 2013. I haven't booked yet, but I called Disney to get a quote and it's almost $5600. I asked for a moderate ( Coronado), dining plan, park tickets, and hotel. Is that a good deal.? I'm not sure. I've been reading posts and some people have traveled for less. I want it to be special for my family and myself. I have looked for the special offers but can't find anything. Can you please help?.

Book the resort and package you are happy with and can afford. If a discount offer comes out for your travel dates then you can try and apply it to your booking. Discounts for August usually do not come out until mid-Spring and early Summer and they may or may not include the resort and/or view you are looking for.

You may want to look into exactly what you want and what you were quoted. Did they quote park hoppers or water parks? Do you want those things? You can go online and price out your options with an without these things, and at different hotels. There are no discounts out for that time right now, so whatever you were quoted is their rack rate. Book what you are happy with an then follow the boards and Disney website for specials. You may be able to apply any future discounts to your reservation(of course this depends on availability).

We are looking at August 2013 as well! Likely around the 10th or 11th for 10 to 14 nights depending. We are unsure if we want to stay onsite again or go back to Bonnet Creek (we love it there). But, if Free Dining was around we could be lured back onsite ;)

This will be our 1st time for August, as we typically go end of Sept or April. But, our youngest will finally be tall enough for all Disney rides so we want more time, which means, we must go when they are not in school!

We finally booked!!! First trip to Disney for all of my kids. We are leaving August 13-24, staying at Coronado Springs, 10 day park tickets, and dining plan. Now next part of planning dinning what do recommend ? Would love character dining .

Arrived home today to a mailing from Disney Destinations LLC. It has a PIN # and the offer states for up to 35% off lodging at a WDW Resort Hotel. We are travelling 8/8 though 8/17 and the dates of the PIN offer are from 1/2 thru 3/24, 4/21 thru 5/22 and 8/11 thru 9/28/2013. Sent my pin off to Anne at Small World Vacations and am just waiting to hear back.

I wanted to thank everyone for the advice of making sure I was registered with disneyworld.com as a means of potentially getting these mailings with discount offers. It is greatly appreciated!

I also love seeing other folks on this thread that will be at Disney the same time as we are.

That's great!!!!! Hoping for a pin too! We are traveling August 13-24.

I'm getting SO anxious to get this trip booked, but just hanging tight to see what kinds (if any) of discounts come out for late August.

It's gonna be awhile. Ughhhhh!!!

I was soooooo wanting to have Free Dining at CSR at the end of August this year and you can't even get a room there right now!!!!! So I doubt there will be any Free Dining offers there next year for my time frame. 8/24-8/31 Oh, well my second choice is Port Orleans-FQ.

I wanted to stay there the same week and couldn't get a room either. When I called they said there must be a block of rooms reserved for a convention. I have not decided on a resort yet, but POR or WL are at the top of my list right now.

We tried to book there back in August and there were no vacancies then for 8/24/13 thru 9/2/13 so be booked CB. We stayed at POR last year so we thought we would try a new one next year. Hope we are not disappointed .

Also hoping for free dining in Late august. Fingers crossed! I went in Sept 2012 with free dining, and it was great, tho confusing at first.

I am really hoping for a RO discount for 2nd week of Aug. This is the only time we can go due to schedules. I hope we get a discount and then maybe we can upgrade to a MOD but if not we will be happy staying at the new AoA.

For Christmas, Hubby gave me a bottle of Rose Regale and the $200 deposit to book our August trip. :cool1:
Here's hoping for freeeeee dining! Can't wait to see the new Fantasyland!!!!

I have changed my mind about when our next trip will be about 300 times, but I think I have finally decided on late August (if I can finally get DH to give the OK :rotfl:). It will be just myself and DD, who will be 5. I really, really want to stay at a deluxe, but without a good discount it'll be Pop for us. Here's hoping!

Same here! I've always wanted to stay at the Poly or Beach Club. We're going to the Pop in mid-August, but also hoping for free dining...

The worst part is, I got a PIN code for my dates, with 35% off RO. It would make it possible for me to stay at WL like I really, really want to....but it's addressed to my mom, who came to Disneyland with us last summer. I love my mom, but one vacation with her was enough! You're killin me, Disney! :sad2:

Magical Vacations Travel has a awesome deal for the Beach Club, maybe the Yatch too the last week of August. I am saving around 45-47% off a room a few days worth of tickets. I am not allowed to add the dining plan with it, but what the heck, its not like the dining plan is going to save me a whole lot of money anyways.
