Goodbye Main Street Bakery....

And pray tell, how is Sunkist a nostalgic brand...?

heh heh! :thumbsup2
Brunette, I dislike coffee intensely but several people in this thread were recommending the blonde roast coffee at Starbucks. They say it is mild and doesn't have a burnt taste. I think that's ironic considering your name. ;)

I personally LOVE Starbucks chai tea and hot chocolate so I'm happy.

And one more thing..

Carnation Plaza Gardens, Carnation Company, and Carnation Cafe WERE NOT REFERENCES TO THE FLOWER!!!!

HI Planogirl! I know people are saying that "blonde" is really good. Will have to try it. I always thought the "blonde" coffee was weaker, but I guess I may be wrong. Thanks for the tip! :)

@mousermerf

Thanks for those photos .... wow, Main Street looked more 'corporate' then than it does now! Its funny when you think that the upset here has been over losing the nostalgia and the fear of it going the corporate route.

REALLY? AND NOW THERE IS A DIS UNPLUGGED POLL ABOUT THIS VERY THING AT THE TOP OF THE THEME PARKS BOARD??? GAAAAHHH you people are driving me insane :hyper:...no more dis for me until you lunatics settle down. MSB was NEVER going anywhere - it was indicated as a REFURB in the original disneyparksblog post (good to see reading comprehension levels are at it's peak here). Corporate branding is EVERYWHERE in the parks (coca-cola, edy's, seimens etc) so why is this cause for a big uproar?? *sigh...Well im off to worry about the IMPORTANT travesties that life throws at us...not the introduction of a new brand to the disney parks but looking out for family recovering from Sandy. Must be nice to have this be the biggest worry in your day.

Really? I had major surgery a few days ago. Is that important enough for you? That doesn't mean I can't or shouldn't think about the trivial. Thankfully there is trivial. No one makes anyone read a thread. There are a million others out there. So if you have the time to read and post on something so small then maybe a different topic would be a better use of your time and effort.

Heres some additional information about our Walt Disney World Resort Starbucks locations. The Main Street Bakery will keep its name and theming when it reopens in early summer. Itll also continue to serve Disney favorites like cookies, brownies and seasonal cupcakes, in addition to Starbucks signature beverages and other items. And for those of you who asked in comments, the cinnamon rolls are available at Gastons Tavern in New Fantasyland, and the ice cream sandwiches are available at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street, U.S.A

This is some info i just read on it.

I will be going into the Main Street Bakery next trip, though honestly I probably have not been in there the past 5 years at the very least. I feel compelled to go in there and eat, maybe gorge myself and take photos until my camera fills up.

Nice to see we have all settled down here. Though I do feel like "this is the song that never ends..." - or perhaps Lord of the flies.

Have a nice day everyone! :goodvibes

Why don't we wait to see how well it is done before we get all whiny about it? It is entirely possible that Starbucks coffee will be served along with some of their baked goods along with Disney's baked goods. It is also possible that the signage will be done very low key and unobtrusive just like the myriad of other corporate signs many guests don't even notice.

I do love how neurotic some of the Disney fans get about every little change before they even see how it turns out. Maybe Disney needs to sell some hardhats with mouse ears on it for all the fans who constantly believe the sky is falling.
