November/December 2012?

Hi I am a late joiner..

Going to WDW in Dec with DH and 4 kids (DS 12 DS 8 DD 6 DD 18months) and Friend to help.

We have been to DL in 2009 but it will be our first trip to WDW.

We had planned the trip in September with my parents but had to cancel when my mum got cancer. Sadly she passed away 2 weeks ago. Struggling to cope but the holiday is at least giving us all something to look forward to.

Plans
- Mel to La via Auckland 6th Dec
- La to Orlando 8th Dec
- 2 nights at universal to see Islands of Adventure (well Harry Potter world really as I am a big HP fan)
- 11 nights (10th-21st) at WLV
- Then back to LA and onto Vancouver for 5 nights (22-27th) in Whistler Skiiing
- Back to Aus 30th Dec

When we moved the trip couldn't get all the ADR's when when we wanted but with some fiddling haven't done too bad;
10/12/12
• Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert party 8pm at Magic Kingdom
11/12/12 Tuesday
• Lunch at Crystal Palace - 11.50am
• Dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe (at WL) - 5.20pm
12/12/12 Wednesday
• Lunch at Tusker House - 11.05am
13/12/12 Thursday
• Lunch at Mama Melrose - 12.10pm
• Fantasmic package - 6.30pm
14/12/12 Friday
• Lunch at Cinderella's royal Table (for four people only) - 12.10pm
15/12/12 Saturday
• ? Kennedy Space Centre
16/12/12 Sunday
• Chef Mickey Breakfast at the Contempory Resort - 7.25am
• 1900 Park fare at the Grand Floridian Dinner - 6.30pm
17/12/12 Monday
• BBB 12 at DTD (would have liked to do on the 12th in the magic kindgom but despite trying multiple times couldn't get!)
Akershsus Dinner 6.25pm
18/12/12 Tuesday
• 50's prime time dinner 5.50pm
19/12/12 Wednesday
• 1900 Park Fare for Dinner 5.25pm (not sure if keeping this one)
20/12/12 Thursday
• O'hana dinner 4.30pm at Polynesisan Resort
21/12/12
• Leave Disney via Magical Express :sad1:

Not sure about MVMCP as adds a lot of expense as not sure our 18/12 old and 6yr will last the distance. Those who have been or are going do you think it is worth out with our age kids??

From the posts I have read there will be a few Aussies at WDW at the same time ! I have been told that there are more Aussies at Whistler at Xmas than Canadians so that will be interesting too!

Cannot believe it is only 25 days away.....

BTW does anyone know how to change your signature - still has my old plans....

Hi Disneywithfour

You've got a GREAT trip planned - the kids must think everything is SUPERCOOL! :cool1:

and a neat list of ADRs - something special everyday

MVMCP is expensive in some respects - but it is spectacular. A couple of the best things - the parade is pretty amazing, and the crowds / queues are much lower. The "snow" in main street is fun to experience - but is it all worth $60/hd? I went once and enjoyed it but I am still hesitating about returning.

To change your signature - see the light blue bar above? first tab is "User CP"
Click on that and you'll see a pop up menu with an option to "edit signature"

only 18 sleeps for me! :woohoo:

Firstly, I'm so very sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. That is a terrible blow to your family and it would appear, very quick. I hope focussing on this trip can help ease some of your grieving at this time.

I am one of those who will be at WDW at the same time as you. We arrive late on 9 Dec for 11 nights.

Last time we were there we stayed at WL and it was the most beautiful resort, you will adore it.

You've made some wonderful ADR's, you will love it. Make sure to add time in to shop at the Outlets because the prices are ridiculous, you're older kids will love it.

WWoHP is a wonderful experience and as a fan, you will be in heaven.

I wish you the very best for your wonderful holiday.

Welcome to the Dis!

Sorry to read about your mum. :flower3:

You have a great trip and ADRs planned. Enjoy!

I'm safely home. :goodvibes

Feeling a little tired right now but am going to stay up to normal bedtime. Got no sleep on the plane last night...but I didn't get any on the way going over so it's about right.

Your countdowns all look great. Enjoy the time!

Welcome home Princess!! I know how you feel - we've been home a week and I'm still trying to get back to "normal" sleep patterns! (I'm not a good sleeper anyway, so it's an uphill battle..!! :lmao:)
Hope you had a good time - looking forward to seeing your photos! I'm in the process of editing mine - looong process!! :surfweb:

Welcome home!!!

Disneywithfour, sorry to hear about your Mum. Sounds like a great trip you have planned :)

Disneywithfour, condolences on the passing of your mum. May you find the strength to cope with your loss.

Your WDW trip looks great with a really good variety of ADR's.

I hope you'll continue to drop in and share your planning and trip with us.

Thanks everyone. It's good to be home.

And Heather - I'm in the process of downloading my pics. Looks like I've come home with 2000 or so. Hopefully, I can whittle the down to a manageable size for the TR. :rotfl2:

Welcome home Princess! Dont whittle down too many photos, part of the charm of your TRs are the countless photos! How did DS cope without you? Or should I ask how you coped without DS? ;)

Disneywithfour I'm sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. It must be so very hard when you've initially planned to go on this trip together. You've done well to organise things to go ahead just 3 months further down the track! The trip sounds fabulous and you've got some great ADRs booked. Looking forward to hear more about your visit to WDW.

DS seemed to have missed me....and lots! :cool1:

I missed DS lots too. Had lots of leftover snacks whilst I was out and about. He normally shares my snacks.

I'll see what I can do about the pictures. Not sure that there will be countless! :rolleyes1

My girls dancing outside Raglan Road pub! They both learn Irish dancing so this was amazing for them:lovestruc And the professional dancers were so nice to them.

Another magical evening::yes::

trip report now please....popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

It's on the DLR board. Link is in my siggie below. I haven't started it yet...still unpacking the pictures. But I hope to start sometime this week.

The bad news is that I've only come home with about 2000 pictures in a 9 day trip. I'm definitely slipping! It may be a shorter TR than normal.
The good news is that I seem to have gotten a fair deal of food porn in the sets of pictures.
