Ok, So Where are Your Shoes?
We woke up well rested and ready to spend our first day in the parks with Meema and Peepa! We had made plans to meet up at 9 at the Animal Kingdom bus stop, and I was determined to be on time! Elsa had already met up with Meema and Peepa, Michael was trying to get out of bed, and I was heading over to the commissary for some heated water for my Cinnabon Cream of Wheat. Serious YUMM!
I only made it as far as the pool area and saw a tan Croc flip flop on a garbage can that looked suspiciously like Michaels. One. Only one flip flop. I grabbed it and kept walking to the lobby area and asked Customer Service if by chance someone had turned in the match to this flip flop. They didn't have record of it, but had me fill out a lost and found slip, and they would see what they could do. I made my Cream of Wheat and scarfed it down and then met up with Meema and Elsa and they helped me look for shoes to buy for Michael. Ughhh. Michael sauntered into the lobby, shoeless, complaining that someone had stolen his shoes. Stole? Really? I asked if it might be possible that he had left them by the pool last night, and he said no. Someone must have stolen them. That's right, Michael. Someone stole only one of your shoes that you left by the pool and decided to trick us all by putting the other one on a garbage can.
I shelled out $50 for a pair of tan Mickey Crocs and away we went. Replacing things for Michael isn't all that out of the ordinary, and if I had really been thinking I would have packed another pair just in case. I will next time. The time was 9:18am and we were finally ready to get in line for Animal Kingdom!
It was a hot one today!!! We finally got on that bus and were ready for a day of animals and stuff. I didn't have a bag this trip and we have sailed through the no-bag lines with ease. Meema, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. We sat while Meems picked what could only be described as the longest line ever in the history of lines. All the other seemed to be clearing out quickly, but hers? Not so much.
Thankfully we didn't die while waiting for her, and we were finally through the gates and in the park!
Turns out Peepa has never seen It's Tough to be a Bug so we skedaddled on over there first. Funny that Michael and Elsa were just in West Side Story for their last play:
We watched it, we all got a little freaked out, and we giggled a whole bunch! It was pretty hot out and we found ourselves ducking into many air conditioned stores for a bit of relief! Elsa's nifty bottle holder:
Loved seeing this guy carve this gorgeous staff:
Elsa loved this wooden elephant:
But not for $655.99

Off to the Safari, one of our favorites...it will become clear soon who was taking the pictures on this safari:
That's right. $50 Croc boy was takin' the pics!
It was a good safari! We practically melted when we headed to Dinoland to grab some lunch. Why is it so much hotter in Animal Kingdom? Maybe it really isn't, but it always feels that way!
Elsa decided this would be her last ever Turkey Leg. She has this idea that she loves them, but in reality she gets grease overloaded on bite #3. Let's all take a moment of silence for Elsa's last Turkey Leg.
After lunch we all used the restroom and marveled at the mighty hand dryers:

That's what you think an Elephant sounds like?
