Done Did Disney on a Dime (well...many dimes) LAH LAH's TR *Updated 3/17*

I am loving your TR Melissa !! I commented on your last one and I told you that you were my hero for adopting those sweet little boys. You are so brave!! My husband is adopted and so are his brother and sister. They all have the same mother and they were kept together which was good. My mother was told she couldn't have children so she adopted my brother and sister and then I came along proving the doctors wrong. So lots of adoption stories in my family. So I think you are brave and wonderful for stepping up and being the one to keep them together. I hope you will be able to introduce them to Disney World soon !!

Looking forward to reading more your report.

Susan

We love Typhoon Lagoon. My kids are both fish...they could spend ALL day in the water, no problems whatsoever! :) I love your idea of watching a movie while on the lazy river! How incredibly relaxing that sounds! May have to think about a waterproof pouch for the ipod for our next trip. I'll bet you missed the little ones, but I bet they were having a great time, too! Thanks for the update!

Typhoon Lagoon is such a fun water park!

I'm not a big water park person myself (it is just not my thing), so I completely understand that thought process of going to make someone else happy!

I can imagine how much you miss the littles! Being a parent is so tough, it keeps you torn almost all the time!

So after typing out replies to the 4 posts I hadn't commented on the power flickered and of course, had to restart my computer ~ UGH!!!!

So, that said, I'm loving the TR so far! Love the crazy pics your kids take - especially since mine were doing stuff like that, too! My oldest bought the Yeti light up hair and wore that for quite a few pics. One of my friends asked why I let him ruin a bunch of pics with the crazy hair - really? - I love pics like that because that's who they are at the time! I want to always remember that! (Sorry...back to your tr!)

Loved the TL pics and PUSH with the sunglasses was too funny!

Glad that Meema & Peepa arrived safely!

Thank you! Adopting (and fostering) has opened my eyes and heart to a whole new need in this world.

I still have no idea when the littles will go with us, I just know it will happen at some point! :woohoo:

Let me know if you want additional information on that iPhone pouch!

Enjoying your trip report!! Can't wait to read more!!

Thanks! I love writing them, and then I can revisit the trip whenever I want! :goodvibes

Ok, So Where are Your Shoes?

We woke up well rested and ready to spend our first day in the parks with Meema and Peepa! We had made plans to meet up at 9 at the Animal Kingdom bus stop, and I was determined to be on time! Elsa had already met up with Meema and Peepa, Michael was trying to get out of bed, and I was heading over to the commissary for some heated water for my Cinnabon Cream of Wheat. Serious YUMM!

I only made it as far as the pool area and saw a tan Croc flip flop on a garbage can that looked suspiciously like Michaels. One. Only one flip flop. I grabbed it and kept walking to the lobby area and asked Customer Service if by chance someone had turned in the match to this flip flop. They didn't have record of it, but had me fill out a lost and found slip, and they would see what they could do. I made my Cream of Wheat and scarfed it down and then met up with Meema and Elsa and they helped me look for shoes to buy for Michael. Ughhh. Michael sauntered into the lobby, shoeless, complaining that someone had stolen his shoes. Stole? Really? I asked if it might be possible that he had left them by the pool last night, and he said no. Someone must have stolen them. That's right, Michael. Someone stole only one of your shoes that you left by the pool and decided to trick us all by putting the other one on a garbage can. :headache:

I shelled out $50 for a pair of tan Mickey Crocs and away we went. Replacing things for Michael isn't all that out of the ordinary, and if I had really been thinking I would have packed another pair just in case. I will next time. The time was 9:18am and we were finally ready to get in line for Animal Kingdom!

It was a hot one today!!! We finally got on that bus and were ready for a day of animals and stuff. I didn't have a bag this trip and we have sailed through the no-bag lines with ease. Meema, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. We sat while Meems picked what could only be described as the longest line ever in the history of lines. All the other seemed to be clearing out quickly, but hers? Not so much.

Thankfully we didn't die while waiting for her, and we were finally through the gates and in the park!

Turns out Peepa has never seen It's Tough to be a Bug so we skedaddled on over there first. Funny that Michael and Elsa were just in West Side Story for their last play:

We watched it, we all got a little freaked out, and we giggled a whole bunch! It was pretty hot out and we found ourselves ducking into many air conditioned stores for a bit of relief! Elsa's nifty bottle holder:

Loved seeing this guy carve this gorgeous staff:

Elsa loved this wooden elephant:

But not for $655.99 :scared1::

Off to the Safari, one of our favorites...it will become clear soon who was taking the pictures on this safari:

It was a good safari! We practically melted when we headed to Dinoland to grab some lunch. Why is it so much hotter in Animal Kingdom? Maybe it really isn't, but it always feels that way!

Elsa decided this would be her last ever Turkey Leg. She has this idea that she loves them, but in reality she gets grease overloaded on bite #3. Let's all take a moment of silence for Elsa's last Turkey Leg. :sad2:

After lunch we all used the restroom and marveled at the mighty hand dryers:

UP NEXT: That's what you think an Elephant sounds like?

Loving your TR so far! GREAT pics and your kids are like mine...taking photos of themselves!! :lmao:

Thank you! I get many, many pics of my kids making goofy faces. They pop up on my phone and my camera all the time. :rotfl:

I hate oatmeal or any hot cereal, but I might need to try Cinnabon Coco Wheat to see if it changes my mind!

Someone stole his shoes? Really? Boys!

I totally agree! Animal Kingdom does feel like 10X hotter than any other parks! I'm not really sure why though!

Great update!! My oldest son doesn't lose shoes on our trips, just his underwear!! I always buy new and pack them in my suitcase, a lesson learned the hard way!! Great pics on the safari, a family favorite. Looking forward to more.

Melissa

I'm finally here! I'm glad it took you a while to start, otherwise I'd be even further behind. :rotfl:;)

LOVING it, as always! My heart was breaking though reading about your funk-between missing the littles and having so much fun with the biggers. That had to be TOUGH. Hopefully with Meema and Peeps there it helps break you out of that. And I'm guessing the next trip will have at least one of the littles along??? :goodvibes

Yay! We'll see about one of them joining us next trip. Easton is next in line (age wise) but he has a lot of emotional/behavioral issues. It will be considered, though!

I am planning on completing this TR, really I am!!! We have been busy (as I'm sure you all have been) with Thanksgiving, and had a bit of a medical scare with Elsa, that has turned out to be the best case scenario!

Elsa had a small lump on the back of her neck (about the size of a pea) for the past couple of months. We finally had it checked out by her pediatrician. He appreciated a mass wrapping around the side of her neck, from that lump to just under her chin. We were sent for blood work and an ultrasound of her neck immediately.

We saw an ENT specialist the next day. Thankfully it is nothing to be concerned about and they will keep an eye on the small lump on the back of her neck. They think her lymph nodes on that side of her neck were just really swollen the day we saw the pediatrician. All her test came back negative.

We are so thankful it is nothing serious!!!!!

I'll post more about our trip soon :)

No worries about the delay, we all know how real life gets in the way of the DIS sometimes! So glad to hear Elsa is ok. :goodvibes:thumbsup2
